how do you spontaneously cast healing spells? i must be missing something because i never see an option for it. what am i doing wrong?
it only gives me divine favor, sanctuary, & shield of faith for 1st level. i have cure minor wounds, light, resistance, & virtue.
it doesn't change with different deities either :(

Favored Souls don't do that. If you want to cast a healing spell, you'll have to learn it (i.e. select it from the list) when you level up.  They also don't memorize (or change) spells.  They are much like Sorcerers but for Divine Magic instead of Arcane.

What it means is that if you take Heal as a spell, you can cast it as many times as you have spells at that level, but if you don't need it you can cast the other spells you have at that level. Myself, I tend to rely on Cure Minor Wounds, Lesser Vigor, Vigor, Heal Packs, and Potions until I get Heal & Regen.

ok then why didn't i get to pick what spells i know at 1st level? :)
also i've leveled up, only level 2 now, and didn't get to choose any spells either :(
where can i find more info on the class? the book that comes with the game doesn't tell you much :(

thanks for the input :)

Divine casters (druids, clerics, favored souls, etc.) don't choose specific spells on level up like sorcerers and wizards do. If you open up your spellbook, you'll see that every available spell at your level is there for you to choose from. The game automatically chooses certain spells from the cleric spellbook to give you, rather than choosing spells like a sorcerer. Basically, what you see is what you get.

For a start, stop clicking on the "Recommended" button and go and actually make your choices.

i don't recall ever clicking on the "recommend" button. i like to make my own decisions :)
that's why i ask why i can't select my spells to start with.

No trouble,  that's why these forums exist.  Hopefully Zorr Crew learned something as well.

Yes. I learned that I apparently fail at reading between the lines, although you still can't choose spells with a favored soul. o.o Normally one doesn't think about choosing the default package, rather than immediately going for custom.

But you do choose spells with Favoured Souls. Just like a Sorceror does.
