Hi guys,

this question's been lingering in my mind.
Do the Asari have human female genitalia/reproductive organs? Or do they just simply please their partners by other means?

Well, they have to have some kind of hole for the baby to pass through.

It would be nice to find alien physiology books in ME3 so we can understand the physiology of all main races. We know the krogan have four testicles and two hearts, but how many do the drell or the turians have? It's not like it's very important, but it would give us better details about the formation of alien organs xD

Do they poop? Cos I know for a fact that girls don't poop, if they did it would come out as cinnamon buns, I wonder if this is the same for Asari

Don't be ridiculous, if real women don't poop then WHY would a race of hot blue alien women ever do it? It's science.

Their actual physical characteristics are bound to be identical to humans, they just don't have all of the interior bits associated with reproduction. Physical sex itself doesn't play a role in their reproduction, but it's certainly an important part of how they attract a mate in the first place.

...Why am I trying to logically explain a concept invented for the sole purpose of sex appeal?

1. Ok. Both evolved on different planets in different solar systems. Why are they BOUND to be identical to humans? (in terms of physhical characteristics)

2. Yeah I guess they would not need it. I still do not understand why they are not all genetically identical(clones) since no genetic material is transfered to the asari

They're identical to human women in just about every other way, why would that part be different? And if you're going to bring science into this -- the only way that Asari could be so similar to humans is if Asari were genetically modified humans or vice versa. Or engineered by the same designer. With all the randomness of evolution it's absolutely inconceivable that another species could evolve, on another planet no less, and be a mirror image of human women.

perhaps thats just the way evolution leans towards. An eventual bipedal upright humanesque creature.

Have you seen an asari at the club? They look pretty... human... to me.

It's simple logic. They look like sexy human females and thus have sexy human ladyparts. Why? Because BioWare demands it!

2. Yeah I guess they would not need it. I still do not understand why they are not all genetically identical(clones) since no genetic material is transfered to the asari

Nothing about the asari makes sense. They're a sexy race of sexy blue women who have sex with things because sex sells and their dirty little secret is that some of them have a genetic defect causing them to kill you if they have sex with you. There's some mystical psychic connection thrown in for flavor and to give them some kind of characteristic that isn't about sex, they were given long life spans, wisdom, etc.

They aren't aliens, they're sparkly blue elves. With ladylumps.

For all we know asari's excrete bodily fluids by their skin/mouth (the mouth being the only confirmed orifice).

Reproduction could be done by Mytosis or the babys/eggs could exit the body through the mouth as well...

Untrue.

We got such a lovely shot of her rear exit during the Mass Effect 1 Liara sex scene. :?

So that's at least two "orifices" confirmed. And she must have a digestive system to go with it, right.

This was answered long ago in another thread before ME1 came out. And if I remember correctly, asari have a womb and eggs like human women do, the difference is that their eggs are fertilized though the mind-melding. But they give birth in the same way as humans do.

The asari are an artificial race.(ingame,of course)
All of them are biotics, one gendered and attract even species with no strong sexdrive like salarians.
That is too much to be random.

Yes it is. The underlying mutations are completely random, and the optimisation process that selects for certain traits is so dynamic that it may as well be random. Don't forget that on our own planet species as different as human beings and dinosaurs made it to the top of the evolution tree at some point, and that's inspite of the fact that all life that has ever existed on Earth is made from the same basic building blocks. Move the process to a different planet, with species that will have a completely different DNA structure (if they have DNA at all) and it's almost inconceivable that they will evolve to even remotely resemble us.

I wouldnt say that.Convergent evolution shows that not all is random.
