You can't make sense of Asari genetics, anatomy, or physiology. Bioware didn't go this far in depth when they created the species, and they didn't cover all the bases either.

Bingo.  It would practically take a biology thesis to come up with a logically consistent/internally consistent biology to flesh out an alien race to that degree.  Scifi does this sort of thing all the time but only rarely makes aliens and humans sexually compatible (and this is NEVER in an evolutionarily reasonable way).  Keep in mind that most scifi, even with aliens, is NOT about aliens but about humans and the "human condition".  This doesn't require in-depth design of alien physiology.  It usually makes use of some form of cheat to make it possible for humans and aliens to even be remotely interested (or able) to bump uglies.

That's the thing about sci fi - it leaves some freedom for personal imagination, therefore, everyone's asari are different

i concur. mine are synthetically evolved creatures made from the combined genetics of all other existing life. complete with telepathic melding, eezo infusion, and Methuselah life spans.

well obviously, they just accidentally gave them every beneficial trait in evolutionary sci-fi.

i'm screaming "super race" here!

rarely...?? in almost every instance of science fictitious romance, humans are always "made" compatible with other species. unless you're watching star trek or something, i can't tell you how many times i've heard half-human-something in sci fi...

wait... spock is half-human. oh ****.

Asari can carry, or express, the AY gene.  The process of randomization can avoid passing it on, but if it is passed on, it is expressed in the child.   That is why Samara's children are all Ardat-Yakshi.

I'm telling you what is stated in-game.

Interpretation aside, logic will take a back-seat to lore, especially in a soft science-fiction setting.

You really aren't paying attention to what is being said.  Basically, if all that a 'father' brings is their presence, then why do Ardat Yakshi only result from pureblood matings?

Because perhaps the nervous signals received from the Asari father do not induce the randomization effect in the mother's own stored phenotype map.

Or perhaps a wizard did it. I like that one more.

walks into captain's quarters, Shepard finds Tali is sitting on his bed
Shepard: ??... but how, did... when? o.O

Tali: I got tired of waiting, Shepard.

Shepard: well if that's the case, all you had to do was ask--

Tali: who said anything about asking you?

Shepard: I just thought... if you were interested...??

just then, Liara walks in from the shower room
Liara: Oh? Shepard. you're here.

Shepard: Liara? how did you get in here?

Liara: well, i did not think you would find out this soon...

Tali: it's something I had to do Shepard. i know you will understand.

Shepard: but Tali, I L-- !!!

Liara:  If you'll please excuse us, Shepard. don't take this personally. ;)

both turn to Shepard, notioning him to leave the room
crying, Shepard leaves. shaking his head in utter confusion

Jacob: well look at this...

Hi guys,

this question's been lingering in my mind.
Do the Asari have human female genitalia/reproductive organs? Or do they just simply please their partners by other means?

I think its the Reapers who are behind they're humanoid appearance. They've said they impose order on the chaos that is organic evolution. I think they push for humanoid bodies. Some of the subjects come out closer in relation than others. Thats just my theory.

Some like quarians and volus are even worse because they always crap on their pants since they can't remove their suits. Yes, Tali poops and she always sh*t her pants. The Ascension novel made me feel a bit disgusted about the quarians :P

Their suits have built in scrubbers, and they evacuate the waste tanks regularly.  Heck if I could crap my pants and have my pants clean and wipe for me I'd buy those pants in a heartbeat!

They still sh*t their pants(not cool bro). It's like wearing a diaper during your entire life. I doubt it the cleaning system cleans the deep part like our toilet paper does. I prefer nice and naturally well-cleaned asses :D

What? that's nuts.  They'd have to unhinge their jaw to do that.  Have you ever seen an Asari unhinge it's jaw?

Yeah, but it's a long story; suffice it say that we were both drunk and sexually aroused.

For all we know, the asari equivalent of a birth canal could be what we know as an esophagus; in which case, all of those Liara reunion kisses were a lot more "intimate" than we initially thought.

im doing my best not to imagine this, as i see one and only one regurgitating food hole ended by a stomach/uterus-type organ. my thoughts are going to places I'd never intended now...

that settle any of your curiosities?

Astronauts and cosmonauts on spacewalks or excursions crap their pants too.  So do NASA women astronauts who are crazy about other male astronauts and feel the need to drive across the country nonstop to get to the guy Image IPB.
