Unfortunetly I can't currently afford a xbox wireless adapter, is it possible to some how download it and burn to a disk or transfer via usb?
PS: I'm sorry if this a stupidly obvious question or has been asked before.

no, you need to download it with your xbox console, otherwise the licences wont transfer and you wont be able to play offline. you dont need a wireless adapter if you get an ethernet cable, one should have come with the console. if thats still not viable you can go to a friends house and download them, however as already stated you need to bring and use your console.

You don't need a wireless adapter. Just take some Ethernet cable, like this:

And run it from your internet router to your Xbox. There's a port on the back for a hardwire connection. You don't NEED a wireless adapter for a 360. Ethernet cable is incredibly cheap, though you might need more than the 5 feet listed, shop around. I hope you see this man.
