Please lets keep any discussion about Bethany's most talked about physical attributes to other threads.

Some questions to get us started:

We've had a lot of chatter about both Hawke's voice talent, but who would you like to see voice Bethany and why?

What differences do you think we are likely to see in her character depending on Hawke's gender?, both from an idealized perspective to what we think would be likely in-game?

How do we think Bethany will interact with other companions?, such as Varric and especially Aveline whose husband was a Templar?

Bethany Information:

Bethany is written by Jennifer Brandes Hepler.
Bethany is voiced by Rebekah Staton.

*Possible Spoilers*
Bethany's Father is/was an apostate who taught her magic
Bethany's Mother is a Woman, whose maiden name is Amell, the same as the default name for a human Mage in Origins
She has a younger brother named Carver and an older brother or sister called {Insert name here}!
Bethany is only available to a Warrior or Rogue Hawke, if you choose a Mage she dies, otherwise Carver dies.
Bethany likes Lasagne (citation needed)

Interaction with other players? Well she's been running from the chantry her whole life I presume. Because of this I expect her to be close to Hawke. From a review I saw somewhere, if I find it ill post. They played the demo and that Aveline's husband was very agressive agaist Bethany, so I assume her responces to that will be met with equal aggression.

That would totally mess with the players head. I get confused if two players share the same Colour background on portraits, nevermind if they look identical.

I swear to god, if she isn't dismissive and hostile or at least dismissive towards the religion that IS HUNTING HER, I'm going to be annoyed.

That said, I don't want her to be another Morrigan. As much as I loved her she had some pretty ridiculous ideas on society and morality. I forgave it because Flemeth was her role model growing up. I'd like to think my Hawke has had some impact on Bethany's views on the world, whatever they may be at this point.

Definitely agree with that, I rather think having the whole family around her until Lothering may gaive her a more loving upbringing, her family sheltering her from the Circle and Chantry would suggest a caring family.

I wonder if she (or they if Hawke is a mage) had a tutor, surely must have been better at the job than Jowan though.

Edit: Maybe even name her Bethany, too, to get us totally confused.

Identical twins would be magnificent, although I would love in-game acknowledgement of this even more than simply my own amusement.

I wonder if her personality will reflect on Hawke, if she is his yonger sister she may take what he does and use it in the future although she looks about 25 so she should have a mind of her own.

Amazing screen-shot. I'm ashamed to admit I haven't seen this one. Self punishment later. For now though, I'm still pretty frakking stoked about Bethany as a whole. All the "Support" jokes aside, it seems like she's poised to be the objective voice of reason to Hawke. Given the possibility that she's a Hedge Mage, though nothing has been confirmed yet, it would reason that she would have an open minded view of the world. So, take for instance, if you're trying to play your character as a true champion for good, she might argue that, sometimes, the "Good" choice isn't nessasarily the one that will most benefit the situation in the long term. Or, if you're trying to be the Tyrant rising to power, Beth might be the one to tell you, "Dude, you're being kind of a douche." You get the idea. Given that all of my siblings in the RW are sisters, I have to admit it would feel like comforting and familiar ground to have a 'Sis tagging along, making sure I don't stick my foot in my mouth and heavily judging the girls I date.

As to Voice Actors. It's cliche, I know, but, Kate Beckinsale would be amazing. BioWare's not likely to fork over the cash to afford her. But, still, her voice just fits everything. Regardless of whom they did pick to voice Bethany, since that choice was made awhile ago, I know she'll sound awesome. I haven't heard any really clear dialogue audio from PAX, so guess it's just a wating game till the first Demo Footage hits the net.
