I support this thread and hottest woman in the team. :wizard:
But in first playthrough I always play as mage. Sorry, Bethany. Still I hope rumor that we can save them both is true.
Also I'm sure she'll get her deserved attention after game release.

Alas, my first play through shall be a mage. Sorry Bethany, you shall not be in my party until my second play through when I am a rogue.

I was wondering if maybe just maybe we'll get to have Bethany even if we're mages as a reward for beating the game in nightmare w/o dying (or something like that) in a ng+. I'd be really happy if this actually happens :D

Sister? And sup Bethany thread being so short? Disappointing she is a sister to PC? My beautiful sister is not like Bethany. I think I begin to hatez mages because my in-game sister (with great boobs) is a mage.

Im guessing Hawke's role is that of a protective older brother/sister towards Bethany, keeping the templars away from her and all.
If you play as a female Hawke she probaly develop some sort of rivalry towards you.
If you play as a male hawke, well.. just go around and ask what does having an angsty teenage liltle sister is like.Posted Image

But then again it mmight not matter what your gender is, its not like shes an LI or anything.

I know this is off-topic, but I just want you to know that your posts, a long with your avatar, never seize to make me laugh.

Good on you, mate, for keeping your avatar for the sake of my down-syndrome half-brother!

Well dunno, I think I might just pick a few dices and do a random total chaos playthrough by rolling a dice for each conversation.

Edit: And it is interesting. You never know what happens.

I for one hope this is not the case with Bethany.  Physical jokes aside (she is hot), I think regardless of Carver or Bethany there should be a choice as to how your relationship develops. I'm hoping that choice is based on your decisions.  There are plenty of famous brother/sister rivalry's in history. I mean if you care for bethany, then yes I expect to see some geniune affection. If your completely agressive/mean though, I'd expect a rivalry to develop.

She is indeed. That sounds like a fine idea.

I wonder whats the age difference between Hawke and his two siblings.

4 years sounds reasonable.

I am wondering how different Bethany will look if you create a custom Hawke.  I know her hair stays black and her skin color and face shape change depending on what you pick for your Hawke, but I was just wondering HOW different they will be.  Will our Bethany and Carver look unrecognizable?  Not that it would be a bad thing, I am just wondering.

Can someone here please explain to me how we manage to retain the fact that she is hot, once we remember she's your sister?

I remember first thinking she was attractive, but a switch seemed to flip in my head once I knew who it was.

I'm looking forward how the brethen relationship will be handled in game.So i hope Bethany and Carver have each their own personality.I don't ask something to complex, but i would like at least to see a slight difference.(For example having Carver sad when Bethany would be in tears, few things like that :D)

Difference in roleplaying.  I see it as she is not the player's sister, but the character's sister.  And since I play Bioware games in the sense that the PC is not me, but a different person that I will be intimately following throughout his/her virtual journey, I see Bethany as Hawke's sister and not mine.  SO I can appreciate a fine looking video game character design when I see it.

In sandbox games, however, like Elder Scrolls and Mount and Blade, I roleplay them in the sense that the PC is me.  So having a sister in a game like that would be different for me.

I like roleplaying both ways.  In Bioware games, I think the idea of roleplaying the PC as someone else going on a journey as you are watching and experiencing it with them, is effective.  So, in conclusion, Bethany is Hawke's sister, not mine, so I can say she is attractive.  However, since I will be involved in Hawke's storyline and seeing it through his/her eyes, I likely won't be seeing Bethany in the same light as Isabela or Merril, since through Hawke's eyes, the objects of attraction are going to be his LI's not his sister.

I'm quite interested in how much both Bethany and Carvers appearance can differ from what we have seen so far if a custom Hawke is used, is it more likely that the only difference be skin tone?, looking at some of the forum avatars taken from Origins show large variation.

For example compare:

Posted Image
nightcobra8928

and

Posted Image
blothulfur

I like both looks, but a female based on the second image would surely differ greatly from the default model?.

EDIT: Hope you chaps don't mind the use of your avatars for discussion.

As far as I know (according to what devs have confirmed), if you use a bone structure similat to blothulfur's, Bethany, Carver and mama Hawke will have their own modified as not to look as complete strangers, but she will not look like his avatar but with long hair and boobs.
On the other hand, if you use a more "default" structure such as nightcobra's, Bethany will look more like the one we've seen in the trailers and dev diaries :)

Indeed, I'm still looking forward to seeing how much the appearance can change and also looking forward to some humourous screenshots when taken to extremes.

I'm intrigued as well, definitely something I'm looking forward to discovering when I get the game. I intend to take Bethany with me a lot on my first playthrough, will be interesting to see how much like 'default' Bethany my Bethany looks!

The whole sibling/family thing is one of the things I'm most looking forward to exploring, lots of potential for something quite refreshing. fun, and different there.

Hey! This video has Bethany's voice at 3:10! It's a nice voice! A sweet, singsong voice!

STAY AWAY FROM BETHANY, YOU FILTHY DARKSPAWN!

"There's no end to them!"

I wonder whether she was refering to the darkspawn or EASports franchise games?

EDIT: Sadly I'm not even going to venture a guess on the VA as I found it hard to single out amongst a lot of other busy noisePosted Image
