I noticed in the latest video of Bethany's spell tress, she lacks the primal tree( which is earth n lightning elements)...which is fine in my case... I was gonna keep her focused on fire n ice n spirit types anyway...so it works out... though I do wonder what her personal spec will be...

Well yes, she was understandably put off by the Templars. I didn't notice her lack of primal tree. It'd be odd for her to be missing one of the normal mage spell trees. But maybe they only did that for the demo.

As a straight guy, for me:

Merrill: Looks too much like a little girl/dude
Isabella: Looks too dude-ish

C'mon Bioware, neither of the two options for straight romances in DA:2 are attractive, but our sister is? Aaargh, it just doesn't make sense.

Well I always get told that everyone is entitled to an opnion and what works for some people doesn't always work for others, that said idiots and 12-13 year olds do exist so this is also possible.

I quite like the look of both female LI's, I look forward to how they play out character wise given how individual their models are.  From a personal point of view however I still find Bethany more attractive on looks alone.

It appears that all the companions will lack a normal tree somewhere...the ones that use warriors n rogues will lack a weapon based tree...where as mages will lack some kinda spell tree...it's how they decided to make the characters more diverse from the class models of Hawke.

They also gain a specific tree depending on the character, I think. Like Merrill's Dalish Pariah tree, or Isabela's Swashbuckler tree. So no I don't believe they actually have less abilities.

I think what they're saying is they're going to kill any Templars that try to harm her.

This is true...we just don't know what Bethany's( or Carver's for that matter) spec tree will be...personally I'm hoping she can get one of Hawke's...so I can make her a spirit healer or maybe a force mage( in different play throughs)...LOL.

Mine too seeing as how I want to play as a mage. Though I will have a non-mage playthrough. I just wish I could choose to have her instead of Carver on my mage playthrough in a sort of spellcasting siblings thing.
