I heard some very upsetting spoilers. Who has Bethany pics to cheer me up?

Here's one, although I think she shares your dismay:

As I've said elsewhere, Peregrine Hawke is going to be a lonely, embittered man.:(:crying:

I'm finding Bethany to be better in the actual game than in the demo, just wish both her and the other companions were more talkative!.

Could we not get a mod to move this thread to the companions forum? Methinks it needs to be there.

I think she is the only one without a thread in the companions section. Shame really, my favorite by far.

Agreed. Carver has his thread there, after all.

Out of curiosity where would Bethany and Hawke have learned their magic? Were they former apprentices who escaped before their Harrowing or what? <br />

Whatever the case I'm looking forward to seeing the world from the apostate side of things.

Did Bethany not say her father taught her magic when she was younger.

Their father taught them. Anyhow out of the twins I'm sad to say I find Carver just a bit more interesting then Beth.

I was disappointed there was so little mention of daddy Hawke, aside from Bethany's remark that Anders reminds her of him, which made me  considering Anders.

He may have reminded Bethany of him but he certainly didn't remind my Hawke of him because otherwise there's no way that would have taken off the ground.

Thought I'd drop in to say that Bethany, despite having only a small amount of time with her, ended up being one of my favorite companions. I got rather attached to her as my Hawke's sister in the game and was utterly devastated when the templar’s took her away. If given the option I would of stormed The Gallows then and there and killed every templar that got in my way to get to her. Sadly that wasn't an option. I spent the majority of Act 3 thinking about what decisions would be in the best interest of Bethany and her well being as opposed to thinking for myself. I suppose that’s a sign that they did a good job making her. If only they didn’t reduce her to extremely short cameos after Act 1 that leave a lot to be desired. I mean I just wanted to ask her how she was doing and if she was ok, I haven’t seen her in 3 years for Christ’s sake. But in the cameos Hawke only has the chance to maybe say one thing and off she goes. And why would Hawke want to leave it to Gamlen to go tell her Leandra was dead. If my mother just passed I would want to be the one to go tell my real life brother about it… not my smelly, drunk, no good uncle.

Agree she's such a good character/companion wish she was more in the game but heres hoping she'll appear in a future dlc.

Yeah, she was one of my favorites as well. Seems like wasted potential to only have her in the game for 1/3 of it. Thought the same for Carver too.

Can Bethany be the hostage in "Best Served Cold" if she's a Circle mage?

I kept her alive in hopes that my Hero of Ferelden would be able to romance her in DA3.
Def my favorite character in DA2.

She was the ONLY reason I didnt completely turn against the mages in the end.

Playing a THer... and I really love Bethany! I keep racking up friendship points with her :) overall she seems a lot more supportive than Carver, and she seems to care about Hawke's well being while Carver....seemed to push the boundries...with Hawke

I also find the Varric/Beth banter adorable.... I just don't know if I want her in the Circle or as a Warden..but judging from what she says in Gamlen's house.... Circle?

Does she appear in the final act if she goes there?

Yes she does. She's already on hand for when the mages and templars have their...disagreement, to put it mildly. How anyone can side with the templars with Bethany at the Circle is beyond me.

this game needs to stop randomly teasing me with bethany appearances (qunari invasion, 'best served cold' hostage) and give her back ! >:(
