Hi, I have a question.

although I fear I may know the answer.

I have been using the Dragon Age Toolset to make designs and textures, etc. And I have been saving them all in

My Documents\\\\BioWare\\\\Dragon Age\\\\packages\\\\core\\\\override\\\\toolsetexport

there was literally 2 months of work in there. Everything from textures to .mor files, etc.

I was making a .mor file and then tried to push "Post to Local" as I always do.

I was a bit distracted and I pushed the button right below it. The button called "Empty Export Directories"

Posted Image

"Empty Export Directories" literally wiped out EVERYTHING..and when I say everything...I mean...everything that was in my toolset folder.

Luckily my .mrh files were still saved since I had them in a separate folder. But all of my textures and entire folders of files I have been working on.......were wiped out.

I would hate to have start from scratch again. But I am wondering if anybody who is familiar with the toolset . could let me know if there is a way I could recover the files. This is beyond frustrating..

Well I'm guessing the toolset just deleted the files. So you may be able to recover them by using a program like 'undelete my files' or something...

Try a file recovering program. Even if the comp says it "wipes" files permanently when you're not putting them in the bin (which I guess the toolset didn't do), it still has some form of memories of the files. There is a bunch of programs for free over the net that can restore some of the deleted files in many cases.

That's the only way I can think of. :/

And thanks for the warning even if it wasn't deliberate. I always empty my export folder myself and put everything in order in a separate folder in a completely different part of my comp, but you may have saved others from doing the same thing you did :)

Edit: mochen beat me to it :P

I sent you a message of program that I recommend. Recently fix my brother-in-law's computer. Left his computer on in small room and door closed. Temp outside was around 98 degrees. Ruined his DVD burner and hard drive. Which had all of his music files on. Long story short, tried several programs, some of which don't like Windows 7, or the fact that I am running 64 bit version. Anyway there was one program that kick butt. EASEUS Data Recovery

I have also emptied those directories, it was just to reconvert the 2DAs from the .xls files and do a full export in the toolset and everything was back at normal again for me.
