Now who do think will romance Bethany?

She is a Mage and they are mostly feared, maybe a fellow mage?

What about a Circle Mage? They are both from diffrent worlds, will it work? Or will they just hate each other? Maybe it's a mage that escaped from the Circle like Anders. Or maybe it is Anders before he is captured and shipped of to Vigils Keep.

So when you as Hawke can have romances do you think your sister will have one (or more) romantic intrests? And how will Hawke react to them? Will he/she be the protective brother/sister? (if you break her heart I'll break your neck).

Or will he/she be jealous? When your playing as Female Hawke and it seems your romantic intrest seems to like Bethany more, what will happen? Will one of them back down or will it result into a cat fight?

Please post your thoughts and opinions here, also if there is already a thread like this, please send a link.

These are great ideas. Do you how much funny events you could write with that? I think throwing the typical sibling squabble would be a fun distraction from the world ending grim stuff every now and then.:D

Unfortunatly, I don't have any ideas...

Maybe she falls for a Templar, for added complexity.

...I don't even...
Having a real Templar in the party could make some realy interesting party banter. Having an initiate like Alistair who hasn't taken his vows yet, not so much.Unless he shares the same ideals as the Templars.

What if she does fall for a Templar, but it's a one-sided love.

i can see beth commenting on your romance choice (like what leliana, morrigan, wynne, ok what EVERYONE in the wardens party did) so i see no reason we should not be able to do the same, granted she has one of course.

Will there an option to marry your sister off to some rich guy to steal all his sovereigns?

Hawke [Persuade]: You just have to distract him long enough for us empty out his coffer and spring you.
Beth: *Sigh* Again ?

Hawke [Intimidate]:  You will seduce him and take everything he has down to his granny underwear, or I'll tell the rest of the group about your fifth birthday party.
Bethany:  *Sigh* Alright, but I'll remember this!

Because you care for them, and only want what is best for them.  Consider how you would feel about someone romancing one of your parents, if they were single.  It's family.  I like my sister's husband well enough but if he hurt her, everyone else would have to stand in line while I did irreperable harm to his manhood.

I'm a little *sister* and I've served that function in the past when she was dating a complete jerk.  It helps that I'm into martial arts, and my girlfriend at the time was bigger than her boyfriend LOL.  He didn't see that one coming.

In DA:O only Wynne reaally wanted to talk about Zevran with me. With everyone else it was just party banter and most of it was funny. But having my sister comment. GODS... I can already see her cramping my style...
"Sister, shouldn't you stick to just one of the party members... Toying with people isn't what our parents taught us..." "Sister, don't break [insert LI's name]'s heart..." "Sister, please take some time before you retire with [Varric/random love interest] to your tent to tell me what you really think about [insert her LI's name]"
*blabla*

Gods I just wanted to ask about your opinion on the Main Quest? Now I have to hear about you existential crisis!?!?

Little sisters should stay at home where big bad templars can't find out that they're apostates. I absolutely HATED in BG2 how I had to give a **** about Imoen. I couldn't bond with her and so the whole.. go rescue her ...or her getting you into trouble seemed forced. They've come a long way from shoving characters down your throat (well... now that only happens for short periods of time :P )

And sure... if people want to role-play some overbearing sibling... fine, but I have a bad feeling that if Bioware spends time writing that dialogue for a Bethany romance then they're gonna force us to hear it or brush our sister off.. which I can do IRL without losing approval tyvm.

In my experience with my younger siblings just giving my opinion - IF requested - was enough. They even listened once in a while. I never had to act like a macho big sister and threaten to castrate anyone. And they grew up just fine.

He's a brother :P He jokes about wenches with his mother around.  xD Also, he is 30+ years old, married and has an adorable little kid. Warden approves +20 for little Oren.

Can you imagine busty apostate Bethany being that cool? From the screenies she's more like the silent, woe is me type... But maybe that was my imagination :P

She might be different then Fergus yes, probably being a little twitchy being an apostate and all. But still, I hope for her to at least have a sense of humour and that she is able to look after herself. As long as 'looking after herself' doesn't mean 'becoming a complete and utter b***h to everyone', including Hawke.

I hope Bethany is a bit of the twitchy shy girl, I don't know how it will influence the romance But I hope she has enough 'fire' in her not to be taken advantage of.
no pun intended.

Alistair and Wynne had more like a Mother Son relationship.

ORLY? ;)

Wynne: It has been a long day. By the lines around your eyes, I dare say you look as old as I.
Alistair:  And if I may say so, milady, you appear to be getting younger by the day.
Wynne: Be careful who you flirt with, young man. (chuckle) When you wake up beside me tomorrow morning I'll be back to reminding you of your grandmother.
Alistair: Beside you?
Wynne: You heard what I said. It would not be the first time I woke to a younger man in my bed.

    * Alistair: There it is, the last of them.
    * Wynne: (sigh) It has been a long day. By the lines around your eyes I dare say you look as old as I.
    * Alistair: And if I may say so, milady, you appear to be getting younger by the day.
    * Wynne: Be careful who you flirt with, young man. (chuckle) When you wake up beside me tomorrow morning I'll be back to reminding you of your grandmother.

    * Wynne: You heard what I said. It would not be the first time I woke to a younger man in my bed.
    * Alistair: Are all women this evil and conniving when they grow old?
    * Wynne: Just me, my dear. (chuckle) Just me.

Alistair cocked his head with a hesitant smile.  "Would you take me to your bed at all.  I'm curious."  He finished with a questioning note in his voice.

Suddenly, Wynne transformed from the elderly spellcaster to a woman, daunting and wonderful.  She seized him by the hips, and her own hips struck, teasing his manhood.  The kiss she seared Alistairs lips with made him forget he was a Templar, and that she was an aged mage.  It made him forget everything except that he desired the feeling to continue.

Knowing touches, grasping parts of his body that had long been denied stiffened him.  He was a Templar, Alastair
would deny his release even if...  She grasped him in a hand and stroked.  His eyes rolled back in his head; it had been so long since he had even remotely felt something like this.  It didn't matter if it was a mage over twice his age doing it; she was still beautiful, powerful, and had a masterful touch.  She touched him in ways that made him want to scream with agony, but he ended with a forceful release.

Ensconsing the young man in her blankets, Wynne rose to boil water for tea.  She smirked.  She might be nearly dead, but she wasn't that dead, not yet.

On the subject of Bethany romancing a templar, wouldn't it be interesting if (although I know this is not likely because *SPOILERS* he is said to die, still David Gaider hinted that that was only one possible outcome *END SPOILERS*) Bethany developed a crush on Wesley, Aveline's templar husband? I could imagine things getting REALLY ugly, not just with Aveline, but with my main, who not only is her over-protective sister but a mage!

I can't imagine a scenario where, given the choice, I'd let Aveline die instead of the Templar. I imagine I'll always save Aveline, so maybe Bethany can romance her if my Lady Hawke doesn't, but I don't imagine that the Templar will be alive in any of my games unless there's some really major reason to save him that we aren't aware of right now. Aveline seems way WAY cooler :) . Of course for all we know it may actually be possible to save 'both' of them, but if we saved both then clearly neither would be a decent romance option for anybody (except maybe the 'evil' characters), since they're married, so hopefully that won't happen.

If this was an rpg in japan you could romance her;)........

But seriously any character thats not yours should not get involved with someone else unless story related. You control hawkes actions no one else.

On a side note I play bioware games for the storylines since when have they become dating games?
