I think you have hit the nail on the head here over the fact that nearly all of the dlc has little to no replay value whatsoever. I loved DA:O and have bought most dlc in past 2 weeks. Very Dissapointed! I suspect though that rather than being down to bad reviews, its more down to hearing peoples 'outrage' after they realise just how crappy the content they recieve is, after just parting with their hard earned! Its been a disgrace and its about time it comes to an end!  The whole DA dlc experience over the past two weeks has left me traumatised / lol

That's a great point about the DLC having less replay value than the full games DAO, and DAOA.  But how much replay can you expect out of $5.99?   Don't forget that the DLC also include NEW ITEMS to use in the DAO and DAOA so there is some extra value there.

I for one used almost all of the DLC items on my 2nd playthroughs of each game.
I feel like I definitely got my $6 worth for each DLC in DA

But many gamers are not of that mindset.  They feel "cheated/robbed/lied to" extremely strong words for people who are purchasing content of their own free will.

I take your point.  The quality of the writing, environments, characters and some comparison to the game you are downloading for;  you must also take into account.

I think people are upset at the low quality in these areas, when say looked at alongside the great game that got them into this story. Also, although bugs have been somewhat accepted in this game, nearly every dlc pack I have bought has been buggy or crashed my system.   Again, not what ive paid for and very poor and unnaceptable (The WH bug was a complete joke, although hardly unexpected)

Now, when I compare to the other Bioware series ME, the dlc there is simply 'Awesome'.   I take dlc for what it is, and have it for many games, good and bad , and never thought about complaining in the slightest before. The DA:O dlc HAS been on a completely different level of crappiness though im afraid.  Like I said, hopefully DA2 will usher in better times and eventually. better dlc..??

I have no problem with them releasing DA2 but why not still throw a couple DLC's to Origins? Sure we all want to play DA2 but that doesn't mean we still don't want more from DA:O. They're doing it with Left 4 Dead and it's getting great feedback from the community. Just because there is a sequel doesn't mean people want to stop playing the first one.

think it would be more cost efficient for them to concentrate on DA2 then try and cover both :)

Actually, I have no interest in the spiritual successor of Mass Effect. Right now I'm more looking forward to Dungeon Siege 3, at least that has multiplayer.

Once DA2 is out I doubt Origins will get a second thought, they'll go right to work on DA3 like they did with this game. We didn't even get the promised two years of dlc for Origins so I'm guessing that any dlc efforts will be for DA2, which are probably being worked on even now to release a week or two after the game. We have addressed this before, but to save you actually looking as I can tell you didn't, I'll say it again here.

When we made the promise of 2 years of DLC for DA:O we did not expect DA2 to come together so well or so quickly.  Once it was realized that it would be ready early next year (now announced as March 8) we chose to release a brand new game instead of delaying it to keep a (now) outdated promise.

While we understand some fans would like us to continue making DLC for DA:O, we are focussing instead on making Dragon Age 2 a better overall experience than Dragon Age: Origins and we're confidant that you will enjoy Dragon Age 2.

The fact that it took years to make the first game, and now less than a year the of the first game, a second game is said to be released the following, makes me abit nervous, I'm hoping there was enough time to develop the game. Just crossing my fingers. You guys do great work. Always pushing the envelope, I hope it works out =]

I don't care for the whole DLC model in general, and i doubt we would have gotten a second expansion, so no.

lol if you can even call awakening that XD. Bioware does some great stuff, but when it comes to advertising their games, and whats actually going to be in it. At this point not surprised-_-

Yet another thread proving that wide open MMO's are a bad idea....
