But you know the answer. It's the same reason we never see female dwarves in Lord of the Rings (they stay back home). I have no doubt we'll see plenty of them if/when we are finally taken to Qunari-occupied territory.

Yeah, I know. I just am also curious as to why this logic is always used. The females stay home in a lot of races..cmon really? I suppose I was hoping for a break in the mold somewhere, as were many others in this thread.

What if yhe Qunari conquest took a toll on Male Qunari numbers would'nt the Ariskok have but no choice to conscript Female Qunari to fight and i reckon if that happens Hawke will 100% see one.

Froom what we know of the Qun, the Qunari would never pluck someone from their position in life to make them something else. You are a famer, a soldier, a blacksmith, or what have you, for life. To do something else is to be going against the very reason you exist.

That's at least what I've gotten from Dev post and Sten's in game dialogue.

Posted ImageYeah, of course they can but I mean a lot of the women in the races (I suppose I cant help but think of Mass Effect as well..) are designated to the home sphere just to make it easier..cause of the money, time constraints, and whatever else. I only wanted a "break in the mold and an answer as to why it was always the females. ..didnt say that NONE of the females can be stay-at-home wives or that there was an issue with it.

How about some stay-at-home husbands in Dragon Age?Posted Image

But in any case, complaining is complaining and it obviously wont happen this time around. Heres hoping for DA3!

So the Qunari would give up and surrender then enlist Fem Qunari and fight makes no sense. Also the qunari have a strong sense of hounor the Females would gladly fight.

Are you implying that you think Hawke will kill so many Qunari they completely run out of soldiers?

Never found unaswered mysteries all that interesting. Badly answered ones are a problem. But good answers, that's adventure.

Bingo.

I just fear DA becomes like LOST where we never get answers and just get heaps and heaps of questions and mysteries piled on with no answers being given. Or an answer that comes long after you've forgotten about the mystery in question.

What Sten meant was that qunari
females don't become soldiers-- they don't live by their blade or get
trained in combat. This doesn't mean that they are incapable of
fighting when the situation calls for it. That would be a very
un-feminine thing to do. If a female qunari persisted down such a path,
however, that would call into question their gender-- socially (not
biologically, which is something that really only concerns the
Tamassrans) qunari are identified by their role. A qunari that fights is a male, for all intents and purposes. Every other qunari would simply refuse to see it otherwise.

This
doesn't mean that qunari females are free to be males, if they wish--
the Ben-Hassrath might have something to say about that, as chances are
they'd be defying whatever role the Tamassrans had already assigned
them.

There is some grey area, mind you. There are female Ben-Hassrath, and they do learn
how to fight-- but in a different manner from a soldier. They don't
live by their blade. And Tal'Vashoth, of course, break all rules of
qunari culture by their very nature. A female qunari who had abandoned
the Qun could do as she wished.

Hey, Bioware, while you're at it, explain why you have blatantly refused to let us visit the Black City, which I could clearly see from the Fade, or the moon, which was visible from Ostagar! Why did you bother to mention the existence of the Anderfels and Kal-Sharok if we can't go there right now? Obviously, you did this just to slap us all in the face! Jerks.

The concept art was so awesome though . I just think it's was a bit too soon telling us *no* after those awesome concept art of the female Qunari! Now you will have to endure 6 month worth of whinning.

And no female Qunari? Aww, I was totally hoping to romance one and get a 'Death by Snoo Snoo' ending.

This makes me sad, so very very sad.

I still love Mary though, she will find a way to make it all better (a DA3 quest set on the moon featuring a jacuzzi filled with female Qunari (and Varric), the quest will end with you waking up in the black city with a hangover and covered in Nutella).
