Hmm, if we complain enough, won't your corporate masters make you put one in?

Then who'd be the b*tch?!

Right, because my corporate masters would be scrambling in terror because a group of forumites decided they wanted that female qunari RIGHT. NOW.

Yep. Keep hoping for that day, spanky. Stay strong. *victory*

Frankly I'd much rather you hold off on
writing them into the series until you feel the time is right. I like to
dabble with story writing from time to time, though I'm admittedly
rather poor at it, and if there's one thing I've learned it's that
introducing concepts and beings before you're good and ready will often
lead to things going to hell in a handbasket in short order. Not to
mention the lore for the series, as we know it, makes it so that even if
you wanted to add a female Qunari to this particular game it couldn't
be done as easily as with other potential companions.

Hey, like I said if art came up to me and said "we decided to give you a female qunari after all-- here ya go" I imagine we could make good use of it. We're versatile. But that's unlikely to happen. This isn't like writing a book where I can say "poof! and now a female qunari appears! rejoice!" so we work in the area we have available.

That is not in the same area where you fans like to play. You're in a different fantasy sandbox filled with bubbles and cotton candy dreams, and you cast hateful glances over at our sandbox because we keep telling you you'll have to play there eventually. And why can't you just stay in your sandbox? You like it there. And our sandbox just has sand-- and some suspicious lumps a cat buried there five minutes ago.

But that's the way it is. :)

I somehow doubt that there is not a lore reason for female Qunaris to be rare in the Free Marches.

Hmm, true.  We'll have to take out someone so they know we're serious.

You'd be right.  Talk to Sten when your a female PC.  He'll have a hard time accepting you're charecter as a warrior at the begining because Qunari women aren't warriors.  Since the only reason for a large number of Qunari to be in the Free Marches is an invasion force, I kinda doubt you'll see any of their women unless they take over.

Well the sparks are flying.

Really, I had hoped that....*sound trumpets* The Writers.... would elaborate on an element they themselves had invented, and whats more galling, without snark ( made some people squeal with delight, though)

The first response was snark laden, the rest have followed suit. Serves us right for showing such misguided enthusiasm for the game.

So how do you write the story... or what is your approach? Do you write a story for a world, do you right a world for the story, or are you trying to keep it fairly equal?

Only reason I ask, I'm curious if you are trying to create a setting similar to forgotten realms(in terms of scope and feel to Thedas). I guess, what I am asking(I know you can not answer in specifics) but if it was your choice, would you choose to extend Dragon Age beyond Dragon Age?

I mean, for me, you are doing exactly what I want you to do, at least from my perspective. Which is to focus on the "world" vs focusing on the story. Kinda the opposite of Mass Effect(While I love this, I don't want every game taking the same approach obviously) where the story drives the world.

The fact that you are not forcing yourselves to be chained to previous stories of the Dragon Age, makes me believe you are creating more then just a story, but a world(and by this, I mean something that you plan on having a lasting result). Is that correct?

And yes I know this is somewhat of a hyjack was just hoping I could get a response....  :?

Misery and despair... you don't want to know what they do with misery and despair.

It's beyond words.

Well, you should listen to him.
Last time I ignored the Leprechaun in my sandbox, he bit my nose. Could have been worse.

i heard david gaider saying there would be no female qunari in DA2 why not u made concept for them and it was awesome could someone please explain why?

Wow no female models for qunari, what a big surprise. You know I would usually be dissapointed by news like this however this is Bioware we are talking about so really I half expected that this would be the case, I really dont see why everybody is so surprised by this. The female qunari is just another victim of Bioware's mad quest for profit, quality be damned it is only their profit margin Bioware cares about.

With all the cost cutting going on you would wonder where all of Bioware's profits go, seriously I would love to see some figures of how much Origins or Mass Effect cost to produce and how much they make in profit.
