This is almost worse than Mass Effect where they simply just don't include female turians and salarians..

We have great concept art of a female Qunari and we just don't get them in the game? Thats a slap in the face.

There's always been concept art for people that don't exist ingame.

Yeah "for people"...like hey this is *insert concept art for random person that could be walking around ingame but maybe not* but the seemingly deliberate inclusion of Qunari female art, to me, is a slap in the face due to their non-existence for simply being female.

Hence Mass Effect sausage fest all over again.

There's a difference though. Dwarves and Elves have female models in the game itself, the Qunari missing their women from the game makes sense from a lore standpoint and it's sort of similar to why you never see a Female Krogan.

The lore standpoint is ridiculous.. they get paid a lot of money to write a story, so Im sure they can think of a way to include them if they wasted the time to draw them and be like "look what we can do! but wont!"

Why always include a lore that doesn't let us see the females? That in itself is fustrating..its not like they dont have the money to put them in..

Really? ...You sure that's female? I can't remember who was standing next to the shaman. I'm surprised we didn't speak to her or saw more if they bothered creating the model.

I saw a body-bagged female krogan, though.

In any case, if that was female, then it at least made sense--you were on Tuchanka. Female salarians are maybe a better example.

That's not a woman, that's just a pussified male, seriously, stay and listen to him.

It's female turians all over again.

Seriously WTF bioware?

I wonder if they think we wont notice..or just genuinely do not care for the outcry of male and female gamers alike that wish to see female Qunari/turians/salarians/krogans.

To people saying it wouldn't make sense due to Qunari society: It wouldn't be hard for the writing team to write a female Tal'Vashoth. Presumably Qunari women who become Tal'Vashoth are no longer restricted by their culture afterall, in fact I think meeting a (formerly) Qunari woman who has rejected her religion due to the way it treats women could have been very interesting, a shame if we truly don't see any of them in DA2.

But I don't see the point of a Tal'Vashoth in the Free Marches, to me it seems more like they'd be in the jungles and such fighting the Qunari as rebels.

We saw Tal'Vashoth in Ferelden though.

Indeed, maybe I am misunderstanding it in someway (although I've been going through the Sten convos recently so I will really kick myself if so) but I thought the Tal'Vashoth are just Qunari who aren't... Qunari. Some of them stay in what they must consider their homeland fighting the other Qunari, but I never presumed that meant all of them. I've always wanted to hear about the Tal'Vashoth from their side actually, I love Sten to bits but he is a very devout Qunari and a soldier, he might have only seen one side of the story (and it's not as if the Qunari are that much nicer themselves when it comes to warfare etc. than what he described of the T'V.)

*Shrug* Regardless it's obvious the T'V do venture out from their homeland to some degree, it wouldn't be hard to write one into DA2 even as a side quest. To me it just seems like a good way of furthering our knowledge of the Qunari people, all the 'normal' Qunari are likely to sound very similar to the Sten afterall.

Because it doesn't fit in a story? You don't put something in for the sake of it, you add it when it feels it's a right time to put something in.

But that's something you want to take up with the Mass Effect team instead of the Dragon Age team.

Sadly that is actually the young male envoy TO the female clan. :( Just double checked.

Uhm... Is it sexist of the Krogan to protect their few females for their race to survive? And the Quanari aren't sexist either as the system works both ways. Females can't be soldiers, hunters or manual laborers just as males can't be administrators, merchants or priests.

The Qunari are a pretty novel idea in a genre that is steeped in cliche. It makes sense to expand a bit on an original idea.

I don't think any of it has to do with Bioware being sexist. This is just a lost opportunity.

I would think you would need administrators, merchants, and priests if you were going to settle in the place you invaded. The Qunari are supposed to be invading places to spread the Qun, not to be a natural disaster that blights the land. Why would they go to take over a place without the necessary civilian convoy?

It made sense for Sten to come without a woman in his crew because they were just a group of soldier scouts trying to find the answer to a question. They were not going to conquer Ferelden or actually defeat the blight by themselves. But if the Qunari are invading the Free Marches to spread the Qun, leaving out the females makes no sense.

LOL, perhaps.

I personally always found listening to Sten's stories about his people fascinating. He really did make me want to visit Seheron and see what the qunari are like in their homeland.
