Good question FlintlockJazz. I have. In fact I still have the cardboard booklet Tales of the Sword Coast discs somewhere around here. But it was my first venture into D&D styled RPGs and it was overwhelming at the time because I was so young and impatient with everything. Sad. And now if I go back and play it, it pains the eyes and the mind. I have grown jaded and accustomed in my expectations. Difficult to admit. Oh, and yes, I'm an idiot.

Interesting, which one did you prefer at the time?  I can still play BG with being only momentarily put off by the graphics if I haven't played it in a while, though I do play BG1 using the BG2tutu mod of course, but then there are other games that I cannot stand due to the graphics, even quite recent games, so it's most likely a case of just differing tastes in graphics than anything.  And I'm an idiot as well as quite moronic. :D

Yes I unfortunately did know the twist beforehand, but I did also know the storyline and twist for BG1 before playing it also and knowing them don't normally affect my enjoyment of games, though of course that can never be said for certain. ;)  My main problems was with the controls (just did not like them at all) and lack of interest in the characters involved.  I know of course that most people seem to have enjoyed the game, and that many of the characters are highly liked by many people, and so am just curious as to whether it is a case of first experiences clouding opinions and such like, Star Wars no longer holding the appeal it once did for me, or if its just a marmite situation.

Did you play any of the older Bioware games afterwards like BG or NWN?

KotOR, maybe it was because I didn't try it for the first time till this year, but I just couldn't get into it nor seriously enjoy it, sorry but I just don't see what was so special about it, and would like to ask those who like the following question: Had you tried other Bioware games first? Not an attempt to slag it off, I'm genuinely interested.

That and the BG twist are my favorite that BioWare has put into games, but still BG series is just awesome, open and has a great plot

KOTOR has all, but the open part ;)

Jade Empire is great as well (Also, BioWare good job with the twist towards the end)

Have yet to play NWN so i can't speak for that, but ME Series and DA series don't come close to KOTOR and BG for me
