I'm using a new 5.1 surround system on my PC. Mass Effect (2) does not seem to send a 5.1 signal through.
I was wondering whether or not it's implemented in the PC version at all, like it is on the 360.
Note I'm using a coaxial connection to my amplifier, meaning the game should sent a raw, uncoded signal to it.
5.1 Surround (Dolby Digital) on coax/spdif

Surround works perfect on my PC. Integrated Realtek HD with Logitech X-530. Make sure your speakers are set up correctly in your audio settings under Windows. If that's not the problem post your audio specs.

It would be most unusual for a thread a year old to lead to anywhere. It's much better to leave such elderly corpses buried in their graves and seek newer threads whose authors and respondents are more likely to be at hand. Six months old and older, you are probably wasting your time, sorry.
I use rather ordinary audio adapter add-ons, typically from Creative, and also am not in a position to offer direct experience with the problem. We are a peer to peer forum, and at this date, very few of us are dropping in any more.
