Here's the vid

First things first, this vid isn't particularly practical but I couldn'tthink of too many other enemies to fight where a charged gps shot didn't kill them outright so YMIR mech it was. The reason this presents aproblem is that for standard mobs a lot of what this video shows doesn't apply. For instance, the Evi looks particularly bad in this vid, but when it comes to standard mobs it's a one shot and melee finisher. The ammo rarely becomes an issue like it did in this vid forcing a reload 3/4 of the way into shooting off the shield and costing the gun a lot of time. I guess you could take away that if you are going to fight heavy duty minions with a shotgun, the evi might not be the one to do it with.

Secondly, the reason I melee is that you would be silly not to. There is a gap inbetween shots during which there is literally nothing else you could do to increase your damage out put other than to go ahead and melee in between shots. The number of melees for the different weapons are timed based on the number of frames in between reloads. You WILL lose DPS if you don't melee in between shots, even on the fast shooting scimitar.

Alright, with all that out of the way, here are the numbers

uncharged GPS 3.517

first shot charged GPS 1.9

evi 6.967

scimi 4.9

katana 4.683

reload trick claymore 3.65

claymore 7.367

What level were you? I guess it is not 30, YMIR Mechs can take more than that when you are level 30.
Finally a good SG test. What about anti-armor test? Should be interesting to see.

The fire rate on the GPS is impressive, almost as good as the scimitar!

No it's not. The fire rate is very similar to the Katana.

For uncharged shots, anyway. You can follow up a charged shot with an uncharged shot very quickly, though.

Some things people should note, watching this:
-The Eviscerator and Claymore have lowered shield multipliers.
-The Eviscerator performed as it did because it had to reload. This isn't a problem on non-boss enemies.
-DPS isn't a major concern for shotguns on most enemies. Claymore kills with one shot reload, Evi one shot melee melee, GPS/Katana shot melee shot, Scimitar shot melee squad CC. They handle differently but against normal enemies, time spent isn't all that different.

Interesting. Were all enemies only sporting shields and no armor or health, this would be great.

However, what is it to take an enemy to its end? Let's face it, no one is going to just go after a single protection.

What is the ultimate single weapon to the kill. And what is the ultimate weapon + any power use. And what is the ultimate combination of weapons. And, finally, what is the ultimate combination of weapons and power use? Not including ammo powers ;)

Thanks for all the hard work in doing these, Sinosleep!

It could mean an even quicker possible time for the GPS. That thing is quite the beast in my book. On a vanguard ? Not even close to the claymore:devil: Suits everybody else though

As I said in the intro, the practicality of the test was out of wack in large part cause it's simply hard to find an enemy that a charged GPS shot isn't to go KO in one punch. I also mentioned the fact that it made the evi look particularly bad due to the reload. And while I didn't include it in this talk, in the vanguard sticky we've been saying for months that on the whole, the shotguns are extremely well balanced and very interchangable with playstyle being the only real deciding factor to which one you decide to roll with.

Also, there's an armor test coming but I've had MAJOR power issues at the house today (was out for 2 hours, came back for 10 minutes, was out another 2 and half hours) and making the armor vids has been unholy hell. Some of the shotguns have a hard time killing the armor before the YMIR shoots a rocket, and those rockets completely skew the times so I can't use the footage. I got the GPS and claymore versions up immediately, I must have worked on the scimitar one for 15 minutes or more. I even had to change the YMIR I was charging it was so much of a pain in the ass.

They'll be up sooner or later though.
