The Object Inspector for vegetation has a setting called Maximum Density. What exactly does this do? Changing this value doesn't seem to be doing anything.

Then, the Scatter Object tool has a Fill Rate setting which again doesn't seem to be changing anything when I change this setting from 75 to 100 or 0.4. Same goes for radius. Are these functional?

i don't think so. sadly there is no seed value integrated within the toolset to change the appearance of a tree node. you could use the speedtreecad software which ships with the toolset, open up the needed tree node, change the seed value or create completely new trees and safe them as a alternative tree node to get new trees into da:o.

what's really bugging me is that with speedtree 5.0 (which ships free with the udk) they changed the exported tree file so it isn't compatible with speedtree 4.2 da:o uses. damn, all those nice fearures gone :D

If you hold down the left mouse button, fill rate should change the rate at which it 'rapid fires' vegetation into the area. Density I believe is how close it will place such objects.

Thanks for the info, FergusM.

I was thinking those settings affect the vegetation when placing; it's good to know the settings are actually for something else.
