Well, if it was written into the character then it's okay. But if someone whom you are romancing, who was written to be all "one true love etc," is suddenly okay with Hawke having multiple partners I may just hit my head on my desk.MariSkep wrote...

It depends on the culture but seeing as our teammates are most likely to be humans you're probably. The humans of Fereldan seem pretty much into the monogamous thing. Unless it ends up being a political marriage or a marriage for convenience you're going to have to pick.

In my case, largely because I was to busy mocking it.With Avatar, I think the #1 thing I kept hearing was "I forgot I was watching a movie."
Almost got me kicked out of the theatre. Worth it. Would have killed someone otherwise.

It matters to me. This is highly subjective, though, and I'm not trying to impose my personal views on others.MariSkep wrote...

I wouldn't enjoy any love interest to stomach sharing Hawke with another. It wouldn't speak highly for them.
What do you mean it wouldn't speak highly of them? Does it really matter if they're so long as they're comfortable with a certain arrangement and aren't being taken advantage of?

what was so bad about ponytail USB, giant smurf native american stereotypes, giant mechs, and pew pew?
obvious fan service was obvious fan service
obvious "political message" was obvious, albeit unoriginal and bloody lame
mechs were cool, lots of pewpew
really what's not to like about that movie?
people did not watch the trailer expecting an epic shakesperean drama. They came in theatres expecting a massive pew pew fest with a rommance subplot as hinted by the trailer

Hahah, first time I heard that with my male Warden romancing her I was like "WTF. *stern face*" Same with romancing Zevran with my femWarden after he's in love with you but will still have flirty banters with well....every female in the party. I think we should've been able to comment on those.Ortaya Alevli wrote...
Oh, and while we're at it...WTH is with Morrigan giving the Warden a hard time about Leliana while accosting Sten at the very same time? "I belong to no one. And he would not mind" to Sten, but "I find myself acting the possessive wife" to us? And the Warden having no option to say "Then what do you have to say about those come-ons with Sten?" Glad I had plugged in the Slap Morrigan mod just in time.

Don't get me wrong. Na'vi home getting burned down. Final action sequence. Badass. The eternity in between them, unbearable.
The kind colonel did his best to relieve my suffering though. Sigh, if only he'd won.
Instead we got "I see you."

Solona: Darn it, Wynne. Teach me that magical bosom spell or I'm going to make you watch as I defile Andastre's ashes.
EDIT: Oh, well. Then there's the whole Leliana thing.

That was the problem. It wasn't however long it was of gung ho Marines killing ****es with a romance subplot. It was however long it was of political propagandist bs forced down my throat with half an hour of interesting stuff thrown in to keep me from rioting.

I admit I was a little indignant when I saw that too. I would have liked to have been able to sort of make her explain herself. She makes it very clear that she doesn't believe in love and that she's totally cool if it's just a one-time thing, then all of a sudden she's catfighting with Leliana.Ortaya Alevli wrote...

The real reason, I think, is that she talks one way, then finds herself feeling a different way. That's pretty much central to Morrigan's entire romance...she's not ever really comfortable with her own feelings. But it would have been nice to have been able to call her out on it.
Actually, same thing with Ashley in ME1. One minute she's all "no fraternization with commanding officers" then the next she's all "OMG stay away from my man!" Then she's like "fraternization is bad because it might affect your tactical decisions." Then when it does EXACTLY THAT (on Virmire), she has nothing to say about it.

I agree. Sometimes the limitations that must exist in games just can't quite manage to surmount my desire to break the 4th wall and shakes some NPCs so hard there teeth rattle.
Which was one reason I was gratified and simultaneously frustrated during the Landsmeet. You can SAY that the reason you want Loghain to live is for the good of Ferelden (and your Warden might even mean it too, in your head) but you can't fire back at Alistair (if he lives and doesn't lieave the cirty) when he chews your butt off.

Sorry. Shutting up now.
Anyway.
I'm still holding out for political marriage with your real relationship on the side. Either with me as the mistress or as the bride, I'd love to actually explore that type of relationship. I was really interested in how my CE would have handled being the other women while still being Commander of the Grey and Teryn of Gwenar. Hopefully I get to play out a similar situation with Hawke on her rise to power.

Actually, I am always bugged by Alistair's flirtation with Wynne at RtO. I understand he's not really being serious, but at least Zevran is joking about magical bosoms, and flirty is an obvious part of his character. Alistair gets kinda hot 'n' heavy with his flirting.

Agreed. I understand Morrigan's confusion. She is unexperienced when it comes to serious relationships. She thinks both sides are supposed to be carefree, not minding each other's business. And when the Warden does just that, she finds out that he means something to her and gets jealous. Thus far it makes sense. The awkward part is, she keeps hitting on Sten after that! Now that's just plain...plain...Morrigan.

I always got the impressions she was doing it specifically to make him uncomfortable; so yes that is pure Morrigan!

I got the Morrigan/Sten banter before really reaching the romance stage with Morrigan, so I like to think of it as an attempt to drop hints to the Warden, maybe make him a little jealous so he'll make a move. I guess it has an altogether different meaning if it happens afterward.DarkSpiral wrote...

The concept is very old, and was in fact socially acceptable throughout many periods in medieval time. France especially comes to mind, where at one point the King was expected to have both a wife and a mistress. Madame la Pompadour, for example. Royalty always worked by it's own set of rules though.

Good so there should be enoughmaterial to make such a relationship believable in game.

I hated it because it didn't make sense in context. You're in one of the harshest losses in Ferelden where both you, Wynne and Alistair saw good men die and they are jokingly flirting?
