Is it something you do in this "real life" place?

Administrative Assistant in the fine art department at a University where I was also a student for over 10 years and finally got my BA in art. BA actually took 19 years, but I went to a number of schools part-time. Mother said I was a professional student.

Have been at the University 22 years, 19 of the in the art dept. and I love ;my job, the people I work with and the students. Took a pay cut and lost 4 weeks vacation to work at the school and another slight pay cut to work in the art department. A decision I've never regretted.

I have been called that. Unforutuantly I am in a field that requires almost constant study to keep up with new technology and methods.  There is also the plethora of certifications that have to be renewed every few years.

unlike fedex, UPS takes care of their people and properly classifies them as employees rather than contractors. if KBR was still hiring for fuel tanker positions in the UAE, i'd have already been over there. the guaranteed minimum for the first year is $120,000. the first $85,000 is untaxed. to get it, one must be there for 360 consecutive days without being sent home in a casket or due to injury, or due to be resigning/being terminated. the fuel tankers are mostly explosive when they're half full or more empty. it's the fumes that make those tankers rolling bombs.

Is that where you got your name from? I am not to iformed on the big rig drivers for UPS since my buddy worked as a loader/unloader supervisor and thats where I was for my short stint last year. I will be doing it again come october for the extra money in my pocket working as a part time truck loader.

I could not be a professional driver. One of my earlier jobs in life was at a plant nursery and I drove a 14 foot box truck for them. 3-4 runs a day 5-6 days a week into downtown Washington D.C. and Baltimore. I was a mess.

Married, no children, five cats.

I probably have mad cat disease at this point.

I'm a partner in a small real estate title examination firm and practice law on the side. Basically, I'm paid to research and write.

Purchasing Agent, Healthcare company. I talk on the phone half the day and spend lots of $$$. The other half I do various projects involving drug research, pricing, database system maintenance, and running reports. I like numbers...

Most I ever spent in one day is around $300,000USD. I spend at least 20-50k a day.

Single, live in a bachelor pad, have 3 cats. Party on the weekends with my college buddies. Finishing my degree in accounting, only 3 classes left. Probably go MBA after that.

it's partly where i get my name from. it's also one of my favorite white zombie songs. i go all over the united states and canada. in the early summer, i landed a gig hauling wind turbine blades and generators. i also assembled the wind turbines at the wind farms. it was held for a short time. hauling those things is something else. turning them is whole new level to city street maneuvering. fortunately i had pilot car drivers and/or state police escorts.

since i'm based in the southwest, my company doesn't provide me with e-z pass. i recently had a trip that took me from syracuse, ny down through camden, nj, and then westbound on the i-76, 80/90 toll roads. my toll totals for having 5 axles was $325.75. fortunately i was reimbursed for all the tolls along the way. the d.c. area as well as baltimore downright stink! the i-95 toll
tunnel is pure b.s. so is the toll bridge just south of deleware. fortunately i know other ways into nj and new york. i can avoid the toll bridges upon entry. it's exiting that blows out my wallet.

i wish the KBR gig wouldn't have fallen through. i was looking forward to being shot at on a daily basis.

I'm thinking about doing accounting myself, in addition to my concentration in finance. You've done any Big Four internships?

No. Is that common? I'm only on my BSB right now. And auditing isn't exactly what I'd call fun. I don’t expect I'll be taking the public route, more than likely I'll stay private and move up the corporate ladder.

I'm pretty sure "administrative assistant" was given to me in place of a raise.  Previous job I was executive secretary to a vice president at a savings and loan,  Pretty much the same job, different title and less money when I started but way more fun.   I have one boss, the department chairperson and that works for me and I like it.  I do some graphics work  give tours to possible students which is fun, have candy in the office so people visit me and I am a potter (ceramics), though I don't do as much as I used to.  Now I play video games more than throw pots but planning on supplementing my retirement income with a few decorative ceramic pieces I'll sell on my web site that has yet to be built.:D

At my school, the accounting students usually do Big Four internships. Sometimes they also get hired by smaller accounting firms like Grant Thorton, too. If I remember correctly, two years ago, PWC hired nearly forty people from my school, with Deloitte, KPMG, and Enrst & Young hiring around 15-25 people each. Of course, that was before the recession hit.

I'm an infrastructure manager in the IT department for a company.

I write a published dark urban fantasy series.

I play guitar and sing in a band.

I'm a husband and father.

I tell myself at least once a week that I'm to finally start on that DAO mod based on my book series.

I am indeed a bum and will likely die young.
Life is cheap ya know?
Cannot go into more details than that.
Edit: is it me or do mods change every 6 months?
Seems like anyone can become a mod.....how does this happen? I am curious.
