So what does everyone think? Will we get another attempt at a WORKING patch anytime soon? Can the Devs find time to work on one between the breaks at the DLC Work Camp at BW? Or are we **** out of luck?
Lets hope that BW really does look at this and other forums that show that their game is a shoddy mess. Pride if nothing else should compel them to make this game work propery. I am a HUGE BW fan but am very disapointed right now. Until they fix this mess I will not buy another DA DLC or DA2. TOR and ME3 on the other hand are Pre-order bound for me!
Don't make me regret my faith in you BW!
Patch 1.05?... Anyone?... Bueller?...Bueller?

My view on the patch is this - they really don't know why their own game is broken. Here's the thing, the results are wildly inconsistent, some people have absolutely no problems and others have no end of trouble. I honestly think Bioware is just going to go with the people who have no problems and not create any further patches with DA2 being released in Q1 2011.

Bioware isn't sharing their plans with us because their "plans" often get taken as being written in stone when they are anything but. Rather than sharing plans that may or may not happen, they are keeping it to themselves. I honestly don't understand why they don't at least fix the simple things like talents that don't work, et. al. in a hotfix, but since 1.03 and the expansion they haven't released any hotfixes. In fact, their whole support approach has completely gone to hell since March when Awakening was released. I'll be waiting for Bioware to patch DA before I even consider purchasing DA2.

Lets hope they patch it. I decided to replay this so I bought a bunch of the dlc's including awakening, installed some mods since I've previously only done an unmodded run... and now my game crashes at random due to patch 1.04. So the question becomes which do i prefer, random crashing or memory leaks that make loading screens take 3-5 minutes each? How about a game that works? I'm very disappointed.
[EDIT] After attempting to finish lothering for the third time in one day I couldn't help but remember one of the loading screen tips, save often in case of faulty patches crashing your game. Of course a patch is better than no patch. Just frustrated.

I also hope they will make one more effort to fix thins. I really would like to buy DAA, but as long as it doesn't work as it should I will pass on that.

They don´t care about fixing it, it´s all about money, so since a lot of people already bought their game, they don´t need to try to fix it, all they care about is releasing witch hunt dlc and rushing DA2. They have a lot of nerve to announce DA2 since the first DA was a broken game for a good ammount of people, but as I said before in another topic Bioware/EA will be blacklisted by many after the problems of this game. There are padrons of behavior that companies like these need to follow, one in special is earning the trust and respect of the fans so they can continue taking money from us.

I wonder if a company can grow so big that they don't really have to care about their customers.
Dragon Age 2 for example will probably sell millions of copies no matter what, so why "waste" a lot of valuable time communcating, supporting and patching their games? It really makes no difference on the business policy.
We have seen this before and we're all familiar with small companies slowly losing touch with their fan base as their games get success and turns into a money grinder. Now, a few years back this would be fatal because the fans would leave and the company die... it's not like that anymore when a company can grow so big that they sell millions of copies no matter how their "fans" react.
The only difference I can see here is that it took quite a long time for Bioware to reach this state where passion turns into gold coins and I guess everyone was surprised to see Bioware jump into that boat.
This might result in "hardcore" fans that supportet Bioware for years will leave but now it doesn't matter to Bioware anymore (it would some 5 to 10 years back) What IS important is their business policy, deadlines, game releases etc. so they overall sell well with or without their hardcore fanbase.

Please do not disturb the long-dead. Digging in the oldest corners of the graveyard is called necroing, and is frowned upon far and wide. There is a current (pinned) thread from Bioware about what they are planning. That is where you should be looking.
