but the end is a joke. somehow something is missing, because the book is so surrounded with a glow so it would be but could read, but according to Victor Wachter there seems to be a bug, money thrown out the window again, should this be the future of Bioware? Loveless DLC `S for Dragon Age?
I can only say that I am far from enthusiastic Mass Effect 2 dlc over of Dragon Age!
they should rather work in a addon and the crap with the Dlc just leave altogether.
sorry for my Englisch :-)

1) due to the DLC not carrying over my sword and shield warrior was left without a shield... apparently I should have equipped him with Duncan's shield instead of the Grey Warden one... Wouldn't have been so bad if I had actually been able to pick up a proper replacement shield from Sandal. Sadly, I had to respec as a dual-wielding warrior. Not the worst part though as I will probably replay the whole thing anyway due to the next problem:
2) I got the DR bug... I did not deny Morrigan, yet there she was talking to me as if I had... which was a major bummer, as I was hoping to hear the appropriate dialog.
Overall, I am satisfied with the ending, but will replay the whole thing with a different savegame just to see if the bug can't be avoided...

Also it was kind of nice in a nostalgic way, to see all these locations again. Like a trip down memory lane. When they do stuff like make Leliana's Song take place in Denerim...that, I didn't appreciate. But this was different. Maybe it was just because it's the last one and I was already feeling a little wistful.

It was IMO the best DLC for DA:O... up to the grand finale... yeah, a bug that screws it all up...
Poor BioWare, a day full of fail... first ME 2 PC players get an empty file after downloading 1,5 gb and than the DA:O get a totally bugged ending.
My condolence, but at the same time I can't say I am really willing to understand that. I know, things can go wrong, those DLC ain't your priority as you are working on DA:2 and ME 3 and being forced to download the shadowbroaker once more and play it with some delay isn't that bad, but it puts you in such a bad light, dear Bioware. Such an obvious bug like the last conversation being the big finale, is simply very, very poor quality management.
Right now I am pretty sure that importing my warden after playing (and paying) all related DLC and Awakening will just lead to a "canon" Warden story at DA:2. Not such a big motivation...
Honestly, this is better than Oblivion's quality management. It isn't say 'loads' or 'leagues' better, but the bugs in some of the DLCs were just far too many. It's not poor poor quality management; it's decent, at the very least compared to some of the bugs and glitches elsewhere.

People are making this DLC seem worse than it is. I thought it was pretty good, besides the bugged ending. It was really only meant for closure for you and Morrigan, and it gives a fitting end to your Warden.
The ending was the whole point. If it's broken that's a pretty big issue.

Thats my fear. Hope Bioware doesnt go lazy on us with DA2 and just pick the canon story which they think is easiest to write in.
Personally I wont be playing WH before theres a fix for the ending bug. Bad show Bioware, very bad.
Krytheos: Well thats hardly an excuse for selling products of questionable quality. Doesnt really matter if other companies have made worse DLC then this, doesnt excuse Bioware from making bad/buggy DLC. Otherwise companies would just be able to say "atleast our game is better then Daikatana".

I am rather seeing things end up like WH... not that they planned to force us into a canon ending, but bugs ruining savegames... I ain't sure I really want to replay Awakening + DLC again even if they get patched just to get the whole crap working for DA 2. Right now I am really happy its over with this part of the series and I really hope they start working it out and give us a fixed version that we can get into DA2 with OUR decisions.

The npcs, Ariane and Finn, are pretty interesting and a pleasant surprise.
Both of them are more multi-faceted and way better than the extremely weak ones that were tossed in in other DLC.
For instance, I found the npcs in Leliana's song, extremely disappointing. They frankly were just cannon fodder, pure fillers that were meant to back you up.
I'm adamant about the fact that unless the npcs are accurately developed (DAO were good, DAA were ok) it would be preferable not to include them. Better to travel alone or with just one solid npc than with a bunch of shallow ones. (maybe I'm just a Planescape Torment nostalgic-fanatic, where all your 6 companions were outstanding.)
Moving on, the plot: it opens up pretty well, the meeting with Ariane and the recruiting of Finn is interesting.
Problems arise during the 2nd act, the elven ruins in particular are a bit too weak and the final part in the DragonBone Wastes just plain boring.
Why?
Because the Dragon Bone Wastes had no reason to be included.
Let me stress I'm not against re-using old settings per se - in fact I did like the return to the Circle of Magi Tower or to Flemeth's Hut - but the Dragonbone Wastes were just tossed in with no rationale.
The final encounter with Morrigan had no bug in my playthrough (Did the DR with my human arcane warrior and imported an Awakening save) and wasnt bad, but neither great as it didnt provide any closure.
Yes, the key word is CLOSURE. That is what everyone was expecting and looking for. It is inevitable to feel slightly cheated by the fact Bioware neglected to close this storyline. As it is blatantly evident to any storyteller what the story lacked. An Ending, No more loose ends.
In other words, do not misunderstand me, I did enjoy the DLC (7/10) but the premises werent fulfilled. You do meet Morrigan and get some tidbits of info about what is going to happen in the foreseeable future (I bet Hawke in DA2 would have to deal with Flemeth and this upcoming CHANGE) but I cant deny that I was expecting a better work.
If they werent willing to give us all the answers regarding the Old God Child, they should have at least provided some partial ones, rather than nada de nada.
In conclusion, Act 1 is good, Act 2 a bit boring, Act 3 inconclusive...unless you opt for a certain choice...that I wont mention to avoid spoilers.
Great to play The Warden a last time, disappointing to have another abrupt ending.
Playthrough Length: 2h and 46min.
