On Tuesday September 7 Witch Hunt, the next and final Dragon Age: Origins DLC goes on sale. This thread is for fans to post their feedback WITHOUT ANY STORY SPOILERS. This is a NO SPOILERS forum. People deliberately spoiling the fun of others will lose their posting privileges.
I cannot stress this enough, NO SPOILERS HERE. If you enjoy Witch Hunt and want to tell people why you liked it, fine. Use general phrases like "The ending was really good" NOT "At the end when Morrigan blah blah blah I almost cried" or whatever. Same thing if you don't like Witch Hunt. Saying "I wanted to have more X, Y, Z" is fine. Saying "I can't believe the bit where He 1,2,3's and she 3,4,5's! That makes no sense!"
Again, you can like or dislike Witch Hunt and give your opinions, but avoid spoilers. Posting how long it took you to play is NOT a spoiler. Posting thinsg you liked or disliked can be spoilers, so be careful waht you say.
We do not know exactly when Witch Hunt will be available on PC, Xbox Live or Playstation Home. I believe the plan is for the PC to go live around 10am tomorrow morning (yes we do everything Edmonton, or MST, time). I am sure some helpful person will say when it is available for download.
First off..for the first time in quite awhile, I have nothing but praise for this dlc, story connections, graphics look really good, and I enjoyed every minute of it. The thing I like most, is I WILL go back and play it again, as I can take all my other completed characters through it.
I'm not going to talk about the ending, but lets just say there are lots of hints referencing this, that or the other thing that will be familiar to you as you play through.
Very enjoyable..ThIS is the calibre of game making that I know Bioware is capable of. I think it has allayed my fear of change...once DA: 2 releases.
One thing though...just DON'T put horns on Sten ..please, please pretty please, if you do bring him back at some point in the future. hehehe

I made a new character to play Morrigan's dlc, but I understand you can import from Awakening or the golem dlc, or Origins too. Up to you. I have several characters who have finished up with Awakening so not sure if I'll get the golem dlc first or just import..either way it sounds like you can do that with no problems.

Think about it. Your paying $7 bucks for this prodcut. Thats enough for a meal at many different locations, a movie ticket or even a monthly charge to any particular website for another service. However, with this DLC, the time you get on your return, as well as anything else related to is far, far less valuable.
There is technically no closure - at least nothing that anyone really, really wanted. The people who romanced Morrigan were entranced by her perspective, personality and character, but also saw what she did and said and was wanting redemption for it - a genuine relationship. Bioware knew this, but lets face it - they didnt give it to you.
They knew what the public wanted, but they also did not want to spend the real time and effort and "MONEY" to produce a quality DLC that would have given a good ending to what they call one of their best loved games in their new franchise or whatever. They pandered to the public because they didnt want to ****** them off. They threw a scap of meat to a starving audience.
Thats why they said not to post spoilers. If people really knew what was entailed, then they would not be pleased. Just look at what others have posted so far. Yes, some liked it, some thought it was okay or well-spent money, but the majority of people all say the same things - short, dissapointed, no closure, no answers to question when Bioware specifically said that they would.
Frankly speaking - they did give you what you asked for, but did it very cheaply and enough to say that they did without falling through with it. Its a business bait-and-switch tactic and they pulled the wool over the publics eyes very well.
It is sad, really. They dont make games like they used to anymore. Remember Baldur's Gate back in the day, with its genuine saga and expansions? That is what they should have done with all of this concerning the very first game of the Dragon Age: Origins universe. Or at least even tried.
I look forwared to DA2, but Im becoming increasily skeptical of Biowares capability concerning their products. The core games are good to say the least, but if they are going to give plot-holes, which everyone knows that they do deliberately, then they need to seriously follow through with what they say and stop letting the money do the talking for them as they did with this.

There's proof that the dlc was cut in content. First of all. The Mage tower suggested .....dlc never got that far because it was cut and finally when you load a game in the step ..., not that you. I'm betting bioware was going to make the but didn't because they wanted to cut content so they can make da goty come out asap.
You aren't supposed to talk about spoilers in the no spoiler forum..stating what was and wasn't in the dlc is part of spoiling it for people who haven't played through yet. I edited all the stuff that is spoilerish.,

No, it didn't. There are countless interpretations to what was said, most of them much simpler than anyone dying.Aldaris951 wrote...

Really? Less valuable than a fast-food meal? And movie tickets have been way more than $7 for YEARS. Exaggerate much?Vordimier wrote...
You know, people, there is a reason as to why the Bioware people specifically opened up a thread concerning "THIS" dlc.

This is entirely subjective. Maybe YOU didn't get what YOU wanted, but that doesn't mean no one did. Hell, even with the massive, buzz-killing bug, I still loved it. Once it's fixed I'll adore it.There is technically no closure - at least nothing that anyone really, really wanted. The people who romanced Morrigan were entranced by her perspective, personality and character, but also saw what she did and said and was wanting redemption for it - a genuine relationship. Don't be ridiculous. Like if they made a DLC they were "really" proud of they'd be encouraging spoilers?Thats why they said not to post spoilers. If people really knew what was entailed, then they would not be pleased. Just look at what others have posted so far. Yes, some liked it, some thought it was okay or well-spent money, but the majority of people all say the same things - short, dissapointed, no closure, no answers to question when Bioware specifically said that they would.
This is just pointless, baseless raging. I was as gutted by The Bug as anyone else, but let's try to keep a little perspective, shall we?

Perhaps you will adore it, yes, and once you accept certain things, you will appreciate it more, but from what most people have been stating thus far - thats not the case.
As for your last paragraph, the answer is they made an effort to make sure non were posted before this DLC was released and what a great deal of the playing audience wanted more of. Its the most logical conclusion and fits very well.
Its not raging, technically, but....disappointment. They could have done much better, way better and thats the entire point.
Take it for what you will.

Bug noticed, probably one stemming back to DA:O. The DLC didn't recognize that I did the ritual. Probably because I did it, but avoided having a final convo, which changes the relationship status.
I'm almost done, too, and I've encountered this same bug... I wonder how many others have it and if it will be addressed soon by a dev.

I do see your point, I even played through the whole BG saga again this summer and it's still great fun. But it's easy to look at it with rose tinted glasses. Throne of Bhall had cut content/ an unfinished feel to it, which was only put back in as an unofficial patch by David Gaider in his own time.
Planescape Torment also had a rushed ending, as only one outcome actually made it in to the released game, but it still has one of the finest stoylines in a CRPG to date.
My point is there have always been time constraints that prevent a game being the best it possibly could be, but all in all we've been given a pretty decent spiritual successor to those infinity engine games.
Anyway, sorry I'm not being very concise. It's coming up to 3am so not firing on all cylinders any more.

I think you're reading a lot of complaining about The Bug, and I have done my share as well, but that doesn't mean they all hate it. And even the people that DO hate it are probably more vocal than those who don't. And negative reports often overshadow positive ones.Vordimier wrote...
Not really an exaggeration, really. That seven bucks, if spent on a movie, or even a game rental, gets me much more than 2 hours of something that doesnt really feel complete.
Perhaps you will adore it, yes, and once you accept certain things, you will appreciate it more, but from what most people have been stating thus far - thats not the case.
I don't know the actual statistics about who liked it and who didn't any more than you do, but if you're going to be using it as a foundation for making assertions like "BioWare were trying to hide the crappiness of the game," then you should probably make sure it's based on something demonstrably factual.
No, it's not logical to assume that because they didn't want spoilers posted, and because you didn't like the DLC, they knew the DLC was crap and just wanted keep its crappiness under wraps so they could get as much money as they could before word got out. My namesake would definitely not approve...you're multiplying entities way beyond necessity. You're inventing additional things when there's already a totally sufficient explanation in place. As for your last paragraph, the answer is they made an effort to make sure non were posted before this DLC was released and what a great deal of the playing audience wanted more of. Its the most logical conclusion and fits very well.
Like I said, they NEVER want spoilers posted before something comes out, or even after when it's in a NON-SPOILER forum (such as this one). To assume that their reasoning for such is drastically different this time is completely irrational.

The ending didnt surprise me cause a dev said, Morrigan's story wont be ending with this DLC. In my opinion, she could be a little more talkative.
The new runes are totally awesome *love*
A big "thank you" from Germany to you guy's and women at Bioware for this great DLC.
