So I paid 7 dollars for some dialogue to tell me that Flemeth is back when I saw her in the trailers? dahhh

My clan left north even though I got them the land of Ostagar in the south? No mention of Tamlen or the clan in the ruins, Shale in Cadash Thaig, nor Wynne in the Circle. When I say the world map I though I could at least visit the locations mentioned to see some changes, minimal even.

I though being Dalish would mean something more in this game, even if only a flashback. and all the alusions of the party dying, like the statue...ugg...

You only get something if you romanced her, and if you didn't well damn it.

Arianne was great but I hated Finn, more of a baby than Alistair.

After running into the DR bug and the subsequent "WTF" moment, I decided to test the beginning of Witch Hunt through importing different files from the same Warden. (Hurrah for compulsive saving!) For reference, he didn't romance Morrigan, but did the DR and talked to her at the Denerim gates.

Came up with this: Any saves that take place after the Post-Campaign file in Origins is bugged. Example: you load up the Post-Campaign to muck around with your inventory, then save. Your new save is bugged for Witch Hunt--and if you imported this save into Awakening (or any other DLC), the file is bugged.

This worked for me, perhaps it will save others some hair-pulling. I have yet to complete Witch Hunt with the PCS import, hopefully it works... Shame on you Bioware for not catching this.

WOW .... if thats the case ... then that is just jacked up !!! Hmmmm ... it maks since though . After you beat Origins, you go back to camp and its treated as PRIOR to the final battle . Craptastic

OK, so making sure I follow you, I have two games: I have one game that I finished, I am in my Camp hanging around doing nothing. Than I have another game that I am about 3/4 of the way through (actually this is my 6th play through, but first time going through as a female character (easy on the jokes folks). However, I only saved these two games. I have not played any of the other DLC's yet with the game that is 3/4 of the way through. I was waiting till I got a little further up on the ranking before I ventured out, looks like that idea worked out in ways I never imagined, lol.

So if I understand you, your saying my end game is corrupt and the game that is 3/4 of the way through is not. Correct? So I should play the DLC with my 3/4 of the way through game. So how do the other DLC's come into play? If I play any of them before this new one, will they be corrupt as well? If so, I will play this new game first and than the other DLC's afterward. Any idea on what is the BEST method of play? Which order of play would be the best for the DLC's??

Thanks and I am awaiting your reply!

Gunny

I dont know truth be told . That is what dude told me. I guess Im looking at it like Awakening and Golems, kinda save before the LAST fight and then import THAT save when you go to OTHER content( Ex. Awakeing, Golems, With). Thats how I understand it anyway ..... Since you took the Dark Ritual anyways, it wont matter who it is infact that killed the Archdeamon :wizard:. Alister and Loghans fate are more or less decided durring the Landsmeet .... unless you refused the Ritual and there for had to sac yourself, Alister or Logahn. If thats the case, then loading the save file from camp after the game is compleated should work just fine ......

I havent tested any of this yet ... mind you :?, its just how I understand what dude wrote ... and well it does make since. To me at least anyway. Still, if this is the case, what a way to screw up your DLC <_<

Did another run. This time in 53 minutes.

Used my female Cousland instead, whom allow Alistair to do the ritual so that we both survive.

And again, Morrigan denied the fact that DR took place.

Nice DLC to conclude DA:O.

I like how the end left so much unanswered, but still hinted at certain things and set up a good future plot. I was fairly satisfied with the ending, and got no bug either.

I romanced Morrigan and accepted the Dark Ritual. I got her ring, and I got the ring ending.

I imported that character to Awakenings but I didn't get the ending that I went in search of her, just that I disappeared at some point.

I got the response in Witch Hunt that acknowledged the romance, but that I denied the ritual. Having seen the non-bugged Dark Ritual with female characters on You Tube (who were friends with Morrigan), I'd be curious to see what the romance/Dark Ritual ending would be.

Hope they fix the bug and we get a patch or something. Unfortunately, I'm on PS3 for it. :/

Still, my decisions in the final conversation with Morrigan did leave closure to the Grey Warden's story and leaves it in the hands of Hawke and other heroes of Thedas in the future. But what lies in the future for Morrigan? For my Warden? I felt there was closure without finality, which is good in my book.

Actually no, there is no auto-save after the Morrigan confrontation.
So, there is absolutely no way that the "decision" will carry onto another game.

They should have made it much longer. With hints towards the DA2 storyline or something extra. It just stated the obvious and revealed nothing more of her plans. What was the point of confronting her and get the same old story about the child? It also felt like an abrupt ending. I wish I could get those 30 minutes back along with my $7.

I'm just thinking how awesome it would be if they just let the warden play after it's all over, just re-spawn darkspans, bandits, etc like in fallout3 after you've spent weeks collecting that awesome gear that you'll only play for 30 more minutes on a DLC, you'd think you've earned the right to enjoy your hard work in owning stuff. Is anyone else feeling ripped off? no? oh well....

hello same problemn as every on else.
i would like to know what is the book secret is and it took a bit of convincing to get logain to sleep with morigan. (men are well fussy in Ferelden).

that being said i belive that it is a logical test that is failing, and hopefully the cointent is there and it is a matter of getting in the correct branch of the case/if.
(or may be problem with importing the value tested )
anyway I though it was a good add on.
it will be great one if we get the final glitch fixed.

ps bioware please do not legend of the seeker/firefly us............

cheers

That about sums up my feelings on the DLC

All & all i place it with Shale & Leliana's dlc as best of the rest

This happened to me too!  ugh, i was sorely disappointed that everything didn't get transferred correctly (I was expecting it though, 'cause my character went through 3 transfers (origins -> awakening -> golems -> witch hunt)).  I did like the ending I chose (I'm pretty sure it was the same one you chose), but seriously, I would at least like to know the dialog that coincides with the romance AND dark ritual

Not a huuuuuuuge game beaking deal bout the DR, just abit jarring, so long as it doesn't effect imports for DA2 anyways, but we'll cross that bridge when we get to it

For now synical doomsaying is the fashionible thing to do on this forum, carry on

45 minutes into it. So epic!. Finn is pretty awesome, Arianne is annoying. "Oh Im a dalish, life is so hard for us".
"F*** You. My familys dead and my love has gone with my child!".

Alright, I said it in the other thread, but I'll say it again.

I imported from awakening, after importing it from a post-epilogue origin save, and got the bug.

I imported from my actual epilogue save itself in origins, and I did not get the bug.

If you do not want the bug, import from the Epilogue save itself.

Everything was acknowledged correctly on my end. I was playing a male human warrior who had romanced Morrigan and consented to the ritual. I imported from Awakening. I did not still have her ring with me, though.

Okay..got it to load up...reinstalled DAO update 1.04 and it was finally recognized Witch Hunt.

Well after playing it...so disappointing. It was great to see Morrigan again, actually I love the actress that voiced her, Claudia Black so that was pleasant. Could have been IMHO a lot better, more indepth if you will. But all in all, that wraps up DAO for me. Until DAO2 hits the shelves.

I was a lil disappointed my file didnt import correctly and it treated like i didn't accept Morrigan's offer at the end of the game with my King consort file when i did. Maybe its cause i imported from Golem's might. May try to import my Epligoue file from Origins to see if i get the dialogue i seeked.

Relating to the new items: I didn't care for the new items accept maybe the new Mage robes. Even then I still think Reaper's vestment's is better for a pure mage build.

I guess no matter how you end it it doesn't really matter since it never saves after the last events of the DLC. Guess when this storyline eventually comes back up whether it's in DA2 or DA3 I'll have to fill in the blanks about my Warden myself.

Still, I liked it.

I played as my female mage elf and I had her sleep with Alistair and yet I got the wrong ending. Morrigan shouldn't have said that I denied her when I didn't. I probably should play it from the end of my DA:O and not my Golems of Amgarrak cause it's all messed up.

It would've been nice to have more questions answered, but the basic ending was quite good, at least for those who romanced Morrigan. I didn't have any problems with bugs, and my character was a Female Warden who romanced Morrigan and did the DR with her, (good to be a PC player, mods are our friend), so you'd think if anybody was going to have an issue with bugs it would've been me, but everything worked perfectly, a great ending for the Warden, her true love, and their child, and the ending was open ended enough to make you look forward to finding out more in the future!

In regard to the characters, I liked Ariane well enough, really liked her voice more than anything, certainly wouldn't mind seeing her back again for DA2, Finn was sort of annoying, but for me Sigrun from Awakenings is still the best 'post-DAO' character. The final battle wasn't exactly super-cool, it was OK and all, the only real complaint I had in the whole game was that they changed Sandal's 'Enchantment!', it used to be so funny to hear him say it, but wow, the new way he says it is so awful I can't stand to hear it. If it ain't broke dont fix it, and sadly they broke poor Sandal :) . Other than that though, it was really a lot of fun, nice to revisit the Circle, the Deep Roads, and of course to complete the romance with Morrigan, well worth the price of admission!

But whether you seek answers, revenge, or reconciliation with your lost love, you may find more than you bargained for.

Er, no.

Actually I got much LESS than I bargained for.  I didn't get any answers.  Seriously.  I know nothing more about Morrigan and her plans now than I did at the end of DA:O.  Terrible writing.

This DLC is a piece of anti-climatic junk.  Whoever decided that the Dragon Age: Origin story should end with this should be ashamed of themselves.  The battle are uninspired and ridiculously easy, I wasn't even playing an Awakening level character and I strolled through the DLC wihtout losing even a 1/4 of my health at any time. The story was weak and the grand finale with Morrigan lasted about three minutes.  More effort seemed to go into writing jokes about dog ****** than Morrigan.

The best thing about the DLC was Ariane(?) the dual-wielding warrior.  She was excellent.  The mage on the other hand was a tool.

Dragon Age: Origins is a GREAT game, but the after release content has been half-assed to say the least.  In terms of DLC this ranks at the very bottom (haven't played Golem though), Return to Ostager was better because at least you get to use your companions.  A great game like Origins deserves a great send off - an epic tale, a bringing together of our companions for one last hurrah.  Witch Hunt is as cheap, lazy and unsatisfying at it gets.

3/10.

Basically sums up the way I feel. Story was pretty basic, bland and uninspiring, an excuse to get things going and there is no real "resolution" witn Morrigan. Just more of the same and it doesn't last more than a few minutes. What the hell happened to the writing ? Did we really need a DLC just to hype DA2 ?  Sadly, Warden's Keep still sits right at the top for me, when it comes to DLC. A good balance between story (albeit one very loosely tied to the rest of the game) and battles, rewards were little over the top but what the heck. Leliana's Song and RTO were also interesting, not the absolute best writing, but enjoyable nevertheless.
