I really don´t know why everyone is so upset. OK the end felt  weak, I expected morrigan to be a little more warm, dropping at least one little sentence about romance...but if you look at it: it´s morrigan! she´s cold and beautiful and got some serious borderline-commitmentophobia-love-issue. AND if you bought the DLC  to see her again you have the option to kiss her and follow her to...well...use your imagination!
and the library in the tower? did you bother to read all those books? perhaps bioware´s developers did some plot-flag mistakes (luckily not for me) and so on, but they definitely got humor!  "What´s this Bronto doing here? - Speculations on why Brontos always appear in strange places" etc. and the party banter was just great...those little hints to f.i. young apprentice anders drawing ser pouncealot cartoons on ancient bookpages. ah whatever. I had two hours of exciting gameplay and i got the girl.  perhaps I was drunk. I enjoyed it.

Just finished the DLC, and thought it was great. The party banter was fantastic, the characters were cool, and the references were welcomed and well placed. My favourite in particular was the reference to Brontos appearing in random places.

The ending was interesting though I'm really not sure about where this fits in the timeline between DAO and Awakening, especially if one follows Morrigan through the portal. But perhaps it's one of the things that will be explained in due time. Until then, I'm happy with the items. That Axe is drool worthy, as is the bow.

Hmmmmmmmmm if you answered in another way, there was no fight with Morrigan and she just fades into the time portal leaving no questions answered and the feeling "Is that all there is?!" Definitely anti-climatic with no questions answered and more questions stirred.

To answer it simply it is past the story you imported the character from. I got one from Awakening and my main character mentions that he was already in the caves and there was no any mirror there. I am not aware how Awakening might react to importing the character after going through the mirror with Morrie. I also would like to know what conditions must be met to be allowed to do so as my attempt to accompany her was refused. In DAO my main romance mate was Liliana but I landed in bed with Morrigan twice and she had the child she wanted.

I have to say, I feel cheated.

There were no answers concerning Morrigan despite the DLC description which said:

"But whether you seek answers, revenge, or reconciliation with your lost love, you may find more than you bargained for."

Actually, I hoped to find out what it is all about the child. Why has Morrigan done all this? Nothing has been answered. It wasn't even fun to run through old areas without any connection to the previous exploration in Origins and Awakening. It felt more like the developers wanted to save time and money in creating this DLC by using already existing areas.

Furthermore I found the last battle too easy. All I had to do was auto attacking the boss on nightmare difficulty.

However, I liked the companions with their dialogs although the mage was a stereotype, but that's always always a bad thing.

In the end, Bioware promised more than the DLC actually was, so I feel cheated

So, BW dropped the ball completely.

We don't get any closure with Morrigan and that is the last time we see her?!

Thanks for the warning, people. I'm staying away from this one.

Reminds me the disastrous DLC pack Ubisoft released for Prince of Persia (2008) on Xbox that ruined the original ending and never saw the light of day on any other platform.

Just finished it.

I give it a D+

The build up to the ending was so big and I was getting all hyped up, and then....

well, not much happened. Certainly nothing at all was explained or revealed and no loose ends were tied. I was pretty shocked when the credits rolled.

I bought it in the morning and beat it in the afternoon.  It went by so fast that when I walked out of the office and told my wife I beat it, she was like "huh? already?" lol

pretty much just a 7 dollar advertisement for DA2.

meh

my first DLC and probably the last I've ever bought from bioware... $7 for 45 mins and no answers at all, just new questions

I too, bought XBox live SOLELY for this DLC.  I have never felt more ripped off and cheated in my life.  I'm half ready to say F.U. to the Dragon Age franchise, especially considering I dont give the slightest bit of a damn about Hawke, but I know I cant.

Still, its going to be a bargin bin buy for me.  **** you BioWare for such a bull**** ending to such a great and original story.

I cant believe so many people actually liked this P.O.S.

Companions- reskinned from your previous allies, the Mage is Anders/Allister. The Elf is a nicer Velanna (which, btw, why are they anywhere near as powerful as you? Your the Warden Commander, you killed the ArchDemon! A random elf and some mage thats never been out of the tower should be no where near your level)

Areas-Reused over and over again

Battles-short and meaningless

Game time-45 mins to an 1:30 tops

Conclusion- Non FREAKING existant. The dialog between the elf and the mage is the only redeeming quality of this 7 dollar crap fest. I want my money back, and BioWare should be ashamed of themselves

A complete waste of time, just run in a straight line, and get to the end. I bought this thinking it was going to be something else. Like try to give the kid back or whatever, just not this.

I told her at the end of Origins to go her merry way, so why am I even here? My character is queen of ferelden, none of this should even matter. Where was the dialog option, 'I don't really care Morrigan.', or even better 'OK, bye!'. I was not friends with Morrigan, and the deal was when I finished Origins you have the kid and go your way, I live and I'll go my way. It felt tacked on when my character was forced to care, when she doesn't.

As a side note, don't bother with having multiple endings if you're just going to pick the story arc that fits your plans for the IP. Just make it linear, and be done with it. Origins was good, and Leliana's Song was also good, Awakening was OK, but if you didn't play Origins a certain way I could see it being confusing. The rest of it was just a mess.

Why Bioware dont give the same quality to Dragon Age Dlc they give to Mass Effect 2 ?

Look at Overlord and Lair of Shadowbroker , now look at Wich Hunt.

Why Bioware why ? First all the bugs on the OC , Awakening full of bugs , almost a year to release a patch , this patch dont adress all the bugs for OC and Awakening , now this last Dlc , this is no way to treat the spiritual sucessor of Baldur's Gate.

Obs : Sorry for my English.

I paid good money for this DLC as in BIOWARES own words, morrigans SECRET finally revealed!, Nothing was revealed so i have basically paid good money for a DLC which took little over 30 mins to complete that basically told me if i want answers i have to go out and buy DA2 which will probably cost £40! Talk about milking people for all were worth!

What do i think about "Witch Hunt"?

Hard to say. I can´t really decide whether it was good or not. The expected answers where not given , so i´m sitting here with even more questions than before. The only clue i got out of this, is that Flemeth might have plans for the child (although we do not know anything about it in particular, my guess is that it will be important for DA 3, if you don´t even get the option to play the child), a potential heir to the throne of Fereldan, reincarnation of an old god, and whatever ...

Reusing the maps is a little bit borring but ok, some more new Inventions would have been nice ... so in general it was nothing overwhelming, breathtaking - the idea behind it was good and with so much endless opportunities - but unfortunately they weren´t taken.

Witch hunt was by far totally right on the money! BW did a perfect job of setting up the scene for DA2. Not only that but re-sparked interest in the game for me. BW could have let out a few more scraps of where Morrigan went.

I had two problems with it though.

1.) I killed Flemeth in the main game to get Morrigans approval, and now i should "hunt flemeth if i hunt anyone"?

- so if i killed her how did she come back alive?

2.) at the end of the DLC morrigan said that there was two items, the ancient dalish book, and "something i (as in the main character) would be very interested in)

- Im dying to know what it was that would be so interesting, at the end there was two books!!!!

All in all, Witch Hunt was worth it, and did not infact close the chapter on morrigan, instead blew it wide open. What happens to your child?

As Morrigan herself said right after that - "Flemeth rticked her way past death". And she states just the same in Origins when she asks you to kill her. I don't remember the actual line but it sounded like "You won't kill her once and far all, you just put her down for a while. And it will give me time to find out how to protect myself from her."
Flemeth is... something much more than just an old crone and I doubt it will be that ease to kill her. After WH I doubt it's even possible to.
Just saying ;)

Dislikes: Am I the only one who felt like Morrigan's speech about "change" at the end was directed at us who have been skeptical about the way DA2 has been announced and presented? It sounded more like a lecture than a warning within the setting.

Me too, especially with your warden looking right into the camera at that moment.

I thought exactly the same thing.  I doubt it was a coincidence.<_<

BTW, kind of reminds me of the LOST finale--lots of love, lots of hate, and lots of questions unanswered.

It didn't already strike you that a reborn Old God and his mother would be a matter of some future impact in this world?

Imagine how much better this DLC would have been with a couple of your old friends by your side instead - take Leliana for example - there can be few endings for her story which would have precluded her joining in the hunt - those who romanced her would get her by their side again and there would have been entertaining catty banter with Morrigan, before the one to one, to mask over the lack of progress. Surely by now with such established characters the dialogue almost would have written itself.

(Edit - you can't say 'female dog' in this forum?)

There's plenty of advice about this around the forums - but before the patch comes out, try a coronation save - if you don't have one beat the Archdemon again and make one. Saves after the epilogue seem to be the problem - most of the time.

Really disappointed. I wish I would have read this post first. I thought the game was broken. No substance to this story. Looks like a money grab.

Can anyone tell m if this takes place before or after Awakening expansion pack? I just bought Dragon Age Origins, Awakening, and all the DLC so I have a lot of time on my hands. So I need to know if Witch Hunt takes place before or after Awakening. Thanks!!!

you mean a save where you're in the landsmeet room and all the squad mates say their last words and you go out to see the public? or the after-end save that the game auto-generates that is called "Post-Campaign Save (1) - Epilogue"? just want to know for sure before i try again.
