I thought it was prety fun. But maybe to expesive.
It wasn't really "the cliffhanger" I hoped for but it was fun.

Too expensive is an understatement.  $7 for 30-45 minutes of bugged play is ridiculous.  Thank goodness I had ME2 DLC to enjoy, but I'm still annoyed at this (it's not the money, it's the principle of the thing)

The bug to do with Origins continuation is very vexing.  I have owned buggier games over the last ten years or so, but not many.  Mass Effect had a few issues, but all circumventable.  Personally, I've been put off further products in the DA product line for no reason other than the bugginess I have encountered Image IPB.
Shoulda spent those last bundle of points on something else Image IPB

What a waste.

Thankfully it was only like $7, but still.. just urgh. It's also the only DLC that I've purchased for DA:O, and I can tell you right now that this first impression has.... Let's get serious, THIS is what you charge for? Honestly now Bioware, what do you think that my response to your other DLC is going to be?

The only thing that justifies a price tag on this at all is the fact that the voice actors / actresses needed to get paid for their time, which I have nothing against. The rest of this copy / paste job isn't worth thinking about.

This is so irritating, but most of all I kick myself firmly in the back side. Had I just taken a moment to read comments about "Witch Hunt" then I would have known better. My only excuse is that Morrigan was - in my own personal opinion - by far the most interesting part of DA:O.

Too short, too buggy blah blah blah

Would rather they hadn't done Darkspawn chronicles, Golems of Amgarrak and just put that extra effort into Witch Hunt.

Well for those who haven't searched the various threads, here is the up date: They are now saying the PC patch will not be a patch, but rather a new DLC download of WH, version 1.1... Best case scenario is we will see it on Monday, yes, not tomorrow, but MONDAY at the earliest! This probably means replaying the DLC, that part is all conjecture! They said instructions will come with the release, leaving us in guess mode for now! So, there you have it, I normally just roll with it and keep my mouth zipped, but this is just way too much!

Why can the ME2 team produce solid DLC's and the DAO team struggles with every DLC. I mean they all work for the same comapny, where is the disconnect? All right, I'm done ranting for today, goodnight all, see ya on Monday, MAYBE, LOL!  Image IPB

The ME2 DLC were good, almost everyone was in good length. The DAO DLC were the complete opposite. Just very disappointed, they could have tried done better.

The first post-launch DLC for DA:O was Return to Ostagar and at $5 it was a much better experience than this. Sure, it was a completely different experience (focusing on combat rather than dialog/story elements) and it shared a rocky release but it set the tone for DLC to come. Ending the adventure in this manner simply reinforces the feeling I get that all resources have been redirected toward DA2 and that there is a concerted effort to leave DA:O behind despite the egregious state of the game. I've had little trouble shunning developers for this kind of behavior in the past and I'll do so again, if necessary.

In the last update for the WH fix in the news forum Fernando Melo mentioned that the DLC will be "future proof". Could that be explained? So far as I know this is the last Origins DLC.

Thank you for your time.

This was indeed a rushed product. I did enjoy the last conversation with Morrigan though, I really want to know what happens next!

I have to say I felt quite robbed by that ending and the amount of time it took to complete witch hunt.

Get a grip and pull your fingers out Bioware you are much much better than this.

My playthrough went quite well technically (perhaps because my warden hadn't finished DAA and I didn't have GoA installed).

However..... agree with many people's sentiments about value for money vs. quality of gaming vs. storyline being a little less than ideal for this DLC.

Come on BW, you can make decent DLCs involving recurring characters for ME2, what about DAO?

I
having read some postings here and I found out I'm disappointed about
the WH too. First at all I have to say I love the Dragon Age tales
and I love the ambiance created in DA:O and I also really enjoyed the
game and so the books. That was great work. But besides the sudden
ends of the DLC there are a few things that bothers me. I have to
shorten this because „No spoilers allowed“. That is the first one
that bothering me: How can I give a feedback without further
explanations?
1.
The end reaction: Huh, what is that??? How can I continuing the game?
For a second I saw something... nope, the button loads the last
savegame! Grrrmph! I played it two times only for seeing the
difference between the earlier decisions of yours regarding Morrigan.
In both ends nothing more happends. Credits of course.

2.
What did I find at the one end?
3.
All maps are well known: I was going through all places. At least the
Shale DLC has a map for itself and a little puzzle.

4.
There are no really conversations. Nobody talks to you besides the
explanation for searching Morrigan. Hmm, very exciting role play.
5.
The fights are not really a challenge. Same places, same enemies,
same fights. The only new one is an elfish creature but it doesn't
make that difference to the last dragon in Awakening or the other
high dragons in DA:O. It looks not the same way, ok.
6.
It's hardly to find any references to the original story or the tales
you have learned in DA:O except Morrigans reaction at the end and
someone is calling you Grey Warden Commander. Ah, I almost forgot:
Flemeth! Doesn't make sense for me. Regarding that complex story of
DA, including the books, that is worst.
7.
Where did my old comrades go? I didn't understand the new party in
Awakening and I don't understand now why I have to deal with a new
party too. In my opinion they have no substance at all. They are
copies or mixtures from others characters in DA:O or Awakening.
8.
I've played the DLC with my level 35 Awakening rogue and so the party
members also have level 35. Besides the time of joining the party
there are no skill/experience points at all! So what is all the
counting good for? You will stuck on level 35. Why? Only my level 22
warrior could use his skill points.
9.
It tooked me hours to make my mods working on it and then I played the DLC only for 2-3 hours. Later I figured out you have to give the
mods to your character in the savegame you want to load. So I can't
load the mods in the campaign directly without further complexity.

10. It is too short.

11.
All the „loveley“ bugs are still there.

Conclusion:
It seems to me that Bioware doesn't take it very serious to make that
DLC well. It is ill-conceived, there are no surprisings, no wow
effects or something like that, there is no way to develop the
characters and at the end you know about Morrigans disappearance as
much as before. If it is a preparation for the upcoming DA 2 then it
is more then ever too short. It is too expensive for just fighting
known creatures in known places and I really think about to buy one
more DLC for DA:O.

I downloaded this today (the ps3 version), and now as I'm starting a Witch Hunt file, the game won't let me import a character. I mean I pick "import character", then i get to the character select screen, but the select button (X) is grayed out and I can't choose anyone. It lets me create a new character for Witch Hunt though.

Anyone also got this problem? Any ideas on how to get around it?

edit: nevermind, it started workign fine again.

Where are all the documents for the "History of Cad'halash" side quest? I have found 3 - 1 in the chest as you fight the first alpha, and 2 on piles of bone before the last bridge. Anyone find another?

I was very disappointed with this add-on. It reused the same landscapes and area already done. Nothing is new. It ends? I am not sure you can say that. When I pay money I would like to see more original design and go to new places.

This states its the last add-on. So Dragonage is not ended. Whata about traveling with Sten, Going to Antiva etc etc. They could have done so much more with this add-on and enhancing things its disappointing.

Oh, please, people. While I'm very, very grateful there's going to be a patch to solve the lack of a game save and the continuity issues (what irritated me was that @#$% gift from Morrigan you can't open), I enjoyed much of the DLC - I actually like revisiting old places / allusions to previous events (and hey, isn't this a technique that filmmakers like Spielberg use all the time in final series films?). Plus I loved the new NPCs - great dialogue and voice acting. And that library search was a hoot ... didn't take the time to look up every book, but a few of the subquests they spawned were very, very funny (landing me with a new item I certainly didn't expect from the shrouded chest).

How often have you paid more than $7 for a movie you hated - something that can't be patched and isn't replayable to see if you liked it better the second time around? Witch Hunt really isn't that bad! :D

My 2 coppers ...

I love how they are acting like fixing the bugs is going to make this game better. Fixing the bugs in this game is like picking the corn out of a piece of ****. By the time your done, its still a piece of ****.

How can the same company that made Lair of the Shadow Broker make this mess of one of my favorite RPGs?

I have no real complaints about the complain since my download for the 360 wasn't really buggy. The only discrepancy that I saw came at the end dialogue with Morrigan that many others seem to be reporting as well. Ultimately I still managed to make the conversation work.

What I found disappointing about this was the ending. I won't go into detail about it but I felt that I had reached the climax of a story but had no resolution. Like we were left with a cliff hanger. Perhaps I overestimated what should be expected from a DLC but given that this was supposed to be "the conclusion to the Morrigan storyline" I wanted more. The add-on was fun, I'll give it that. But it seemed to be missing the "conclusion".

My only hope here is the talking of the future and my character following through with the romance end of With Hunt. If this somehow comes back to relate with DA 3, then I can simply stew for a couple of years then love you again, BioWare, when the real conclusion comes along. But if this is the end of what has been a great story line, then I must say that I am disappointed. Especially since this is a company that has built a reputation on weaving intriguing plot along with great game play.

I am very sad to say it, but I will not be purchasing this DLC. I was going to be purchasing every single DLC involving my Warden...but I won't be purchasing this one.

And not only because of bugs or length. But because we were told 2 years, we were told the story of our Warden would go on, and that pledge was broken.

Are you going to do the same thing to us in DA2? Promise us years and then revoke on that promise again?

Why should I believe you, BioWare? I can't believe I'm asking that, as a devotee who has joked for years about having an altar to BioWare in her house. Why should I purchase this last (seemingly insignificant) scrap you've thrown in an attempt to wrap those 2 years of promises up as fast as possible?

Sad.
