I love how Bioware is tracking you if you cheat. I can't wait to see what Ash/Kaiden have to say about Shepard.

so is it longer than overlord? The Runeseeker wrote...
The DLC was very good; most of my disappointments came from my own expectations. I really did want the Shadow Broker to be someone you knew, and Stasis was not great, especially considering I assumed that this was the Adept buff I was waiting for. Adepts get the least use out of it, because Singularity acts like a Bastion Stasis itself!
Well worth the money, just for Vanguard on Vanguard action!

Just finished the DLC, sat there with my mouth hanging open in the final few moments, and discovering all the additions in the Intel Center... the ammount of fantastic stuff crammed into this expansion is incredible.
The dossiers. Surveillance videos. Being able to reallocate SQUAD powers... not to mention how great the story was... I'm overwhelmed.
Truly the best DLC released to date, IMHO.

It was good DLC and it was little bit suprising to see who Shadow Broker really was.
If I'm not mistaken, but didn't Donovan Hock got one statue in that big room that look just like Shadow Broker's species... "The Yahg"?
No new level ups, but it's good that you can now re-arrange your squadmates powers. Nice to see that there's also something else after you kill Shadow Broker...
Looking forward next DLC...
No, that was an Ogre from Dragon Age. I could see how you'd mistake the two, though, as their silhouettes are pretty much the same.
Space Ogre.

Great story arcs, great level design, great pacing and delivery. I really resented Liara's cameo in ME2 (like many) and LOTSB gave me a better appreciation for her as a character and for her behavior in ME2.
BW went out of their way to include perks and bonuses for fans, and I was repeatedly surprised by how much content and substance was included from the first minute to the last.
LOTSB is proof that BW is committed to delivering full fidelity story, character and gameplay driven DLC experiences.
The Criticism
Most of the issues I have with LOTSB are technical.
First and foremost, I noticed my non-Liara squadmate (I used Garrus and Grunt) AI was severely dumber than normal. Liara's AI was fine most of the time, but any other squadmate I used would not follow commands and would not fire weapons, in some fights, not all.
There was a time in the lair when I was in combat and both Liara and Garrus failed to engage in combat. They were just hanging out in the middle of crossfire.
The shuttles that land and deliver troops in the spectre-boss fight clip over the world terrain, meaning I was running right through metal shuttles. Not a big issue, but definitely noticeable.
Thank you Bioware for LOTSB

Ok so I’ve done one run-through with a Femshep who romanced Liara. I’m running through with my ‘canon’ Femshep at the moment who hasn’t romanced Liara. So we’ll see how that differs.
The basic question most people will ask; is it worth the 800 points? In short, yes. Now that’s not to say it is perfect but it’s worth the points and I’ll explain why I think so.
So to the criticism first, as there are a few and I want to get them out of the way first.
Criticism
First off it’s the inclusion of a third squad member. I understand that the voice actors might not be hired for the DLC and so it is understandable why there might not be much squad dialogue. Apart from one or two things (such as during the explosion and the end game where the Shadow Broker comments on the other squad member (mine was Garrus)) there isn’t any point of them. And in my opinion it kind of ruins the banter between Shep and Liara a bit, especially when people like Garrus might also be committing. I think it would have worked perfectly with just Liara and Shep on a team.
Now onto the story. It’s good but I think Overlord has a better story and atmosphere personally. I predicted bits in both stories and the ending of both (not the Shadow Broker but what happens after). However Overlord still gave me chills. The atmosphere, the actually seeing it and just the sheer... well the sheer appalling nature of it yet still knowing that there was a reason behind it. It was a decision that I knew I would take the ‘Paragon route’ when I was at the end but I still took an uneasiness about doing so. I think without knowledge of Legion I would have had a harder time.
The story wasn’t like that in this. The Shadow Broker was cool and the story wasn’t bad, far from it, but I expected something better. Maybe it’s just me getting my hopes up but with an individual built around secrets and lies, I expected something more shocking (no Feron pun intended) and it wasn’t quite like that.
Also the e-mail from TIM. Seriously? Could they not thing of a better plot device? It was a simple “oh information has suddenly appeared. Cool. Go kill him.” I would have least liked Liara to call me or something, purely because post-SM I had blown up the base and pissed off TIM. I didn’t tell him where to go (as best as you can that is) but still. Sure he wants him gone but hey it was a bit weak.
Positives
Now from reading above you might think I didn’t like it. And you’re right, I didn’t like it. I loved it! Sounds a bit strange surely? Well no, let me explain.
First of the story was good. While I wanted a bit more surprise, a bit more darkness, shades of gray and a bit more Overlord I still f-ing loved it. It was nicely done, if a little short, and while I saw a lot of it coming (the Spectre etc) that doesn’t mean it was bad. Overall it was a nice playthrough.
But do you know what really made it shine? The acting, the writing and the additional content.
The voice acting was immense. I played with a Femshep and I love Hale as Shepard as it is. But seriously she shined here. I love her sarcastic tone and boy did she whip that out. Playing through with my canon Shep, her acting is exactly how I view my own Femshep’s personality would be. She was perfect in almost every way; the banter, the comments and the emotion. Liara’s voice actor was all good, not as good as Hale in my opinion, but brilliant nevertheless. Seriously for once, and I play a soldier mostly, I actually liked the talking more than the shooting. I’m not going to be hitting the X button on any playthrough whatsoever.
This acting was also helped by the writing. Seriously whoever wrote the script, both for the conversations and the banter between Liara and Shepard was simply amazing. I laughed, grimaced and was emotional affected at different points. One time I even, unashamedly, went “Meow!” at the comment by Shep about “What, do you need me to hack some more terminals for you?” It was quite simply some amazing writing. The romance scene for those that have romanced Liara is simply amazing as well. If all of ME2’s romance scenes were like that... actually why the hell weren’t they like that! Seriously I might have cried if there were. Maybe.
The writing also comes into play with the additional content. The Dossier information and the Video Archive are two things you need to look at. Seriously, it takes time but who gives a crap, it is amazing. To be honest if that alone had been 560 points I might have just bought it. It definitely makes the DLC, alongside everything else, well worth the buy. The information lets you know more about the characters, if funny in the right places, heart-wrenching in the right places (The Samara one was actually quite sad, especially as I love Samara’s character) and just well done. And the Video Archive was also everything listed above. Adds more about some characters (again I felt sad for a couple of character (especially Bailey)) and I laughed at one or two of the videos. Especially with a Krogan and a reporter.
So there we have it. Simply put, go buy it. Now.
