Lair of the Shadow Broker Discussion (Spoiler Warning!)

I love Liara's new look as it gives her a more mature appearance
the boss fights were great, a huge improvement over the human-reaper
I made a Liara playthrough just for this and I wasn't disappointed, so for it's the best romance option as of yet
the car scene
and best of all, finally a squad point reset
however what I didn't like was that it felt a bit to linear (I wanted to buy some of the new upgrades in stead of going from mission to mission)
Also the lack of comment from squad members during the mission (especially after the brokers comment)

I figured no one would catch it.
Anyway, as for my opinions on the DLC-
AMAZING.
My favorite part of the DLC was the car chase. That was outstanding. I loved The Mako, disliked the Featherhead, but The Taxi was win. I want more chase scenes like that, with hilarious dialogue along with it.
I was saying before the DLC came out that I wanted TSB to survive, if it was an option. After hearing Liara's explanation as to how this Shadow Broker came to be, I wanted him DEAD.
If we had the original Shadow Broker, than I would've preferred him living. That yahg needed to die though. Glad we took him down. Sweet new race by the way, but I expect that's the only yahg we'll ever see.
My Shepard romanced Ash in ME1, and stayed loyal in the playthrough I had for LoTSB, so there was no mention of her. I was okay with that. I just wanted to spend time with an old friend.
The lack of squaddie dialogue is understandable, but disappointing. I can understand not bringing back 12 voice actors/actresses to do little bits of dialogue(which probably explains why they brought me and Javi in, lol), but I hope we get something from them later on. Tali's "Keelah" comment was heart-wrenching though, since it felt like Tali just watched an old friend die.
The dossiers, videos, talking with Feron, the VI, etc etc are all awesome. Glad that we have a good starting point for future DLC's. The only problem is that NOW I WANT MORE DLC'S! lol
Other little features I liked-
The rain on the windows of Liara's apartment. GREAT DETAIL.
A piece of Shepard's old armor that Liara kept in her apartment. That was amazing, and what made it amazing was Shepard's inflection in his voice(Meer's, in my case) when he found it.
The jellyfish. Come on Bioware, why can't we have jellyfish in our fish tank? I figured we could purchase it somewhere.
The Azure section was hilarious. Especially afterward when you go back to The Intel Center and find out about "Blue Azure". lol
Vasir was niiiiice. Vanguard on Vanguard combat was awesome.
Khalisah Bint Sinan Al-Jilani getting knocked the hell out by a krogan had me rofling HARD.
The little comments during the car chase, the comment on omni-gel, etc etc
This whole DLC was win. More of this, please. And give us an update on that boost to biotics please!
Thank you very much. $10 well spent.

What I really liked is that Liara became a lot more ruthless, but still shows signs of the old Liara at the same time - the obsession with cataloguing about everything, her Prothean relics and of course, the interaction with Shepard.Ulicus wrote...
Yeah, it's gonna be really hard for my Shepards to ever hook up with anyone but Liara after this. If only because she now has the most "developed" relationship by far. Seriously, her conversation in Shepard's cabin is head and shoulders above anything from any of the other LIs.
It's a nice character development - the blue moe-blob from ME1 becoming a more jaded, but still caring person. Of course, Il like that because it fits my main Shepard's story: the plucky paragon scientist (i.e. engineer) from ME1 becoming a paragrade frontline combat operative (though still an engineer). Fitting that they hook up...

I have been looking and cannot find any info about Liara's Terminal back in her office on Illium. What is its purpose? It always says no intel available. Is this only for future DLC and/or ME 3?
Thanks,
for info about Thane and Samara if you hadnt yet recruited them

Just finished the DLC with my Liara-romanced Shepard, it was AMAZING but too short, only 2 missions. I was disappointed because we're not able to recruit Liara, also only as a NPC, but it's ok. And best of all, we had the chance to continue the romance with Liara:wub:
Ah, the dossier was great:P
But if you think of all the post-mission stuff, that's time well spent. I appreciated it.
The best would have been the two combined: At least this much post-mission content, and at least one more mission. Preferably one with an investigation, dialogues, some RP content.

Overall I felt this was the best DLC released so far and one of the best overall missions for all of Mass Effect. For the most part I was really impressed. There were however a few bugs which I posted in the Technical Issues forum. As well I'll say I thought the ME1 model of Liara looked better and that she tended to look a little green in the new DLC. Her Singularity biotic power also seemed pretty weak compared to ME1.
As for the storyline I was a little disappointed the Shadow Broker wasn't a rogue AI or a character or entity that more befitted the mystique of what we came to know as the Shadow Broker. Too it seemed Liara was missing the forest for the trees. It was all about getting Shepard back, Shepard was her goal, but somehow she seemed more interested in revenge over Shepard. She seemed like she was over Shepard and moved on, which I guess if you had an other LI in ME2 well you don't have to feel so guilty now.
Overall though some very good content. I enjoyed it.

Given that most of us have no idea what you two sound like and probably aren't aware of the giveaway in-joke or whatever, could you just tell us?
ETA: OK, got a wild-ass guess. Were you two the ones freaking out in the bedroom at the Azure?

The info on Miranda and her struggle with giving birth to a child certainly explains a bit about her "ice queen" personality. For all he genetic engineering to become the perfect woman she is in a way denied the most basic and essential part of womanhood..... motherhood.

True, but think about how Miranda herself was created: she could still have a child that was genetically her own, though she may need a surrogate to carry it to term.

Ya know....it's because of this that it make Miranda my favorite LI in ME2...Simply because I dont have to worry about "knocking her up" and have little shep babies running around. Dont want anklebiters even in a video game lol.

I especially wonder what Anderson was saying to that Cerberus member or what made Udina shove the Alliance member.
Of course the best one was that Krogan punching the annoying reporter. I laughed so hard my sides were hurting when I saw that and watched it at least a half dozen times in a row!

Loved the hostage situation, Liara and Shepard's scene on the Normandy and that she's the new Shadow Broker.
Definately worth the 800 BW-Points
