Sorry if this has been asked before, didn't want to scan through 40 pages (!).

Mass Effect wiki says that you can get Shepard's old dog tags for your cabin. I'm kind of a completionist, but I missed it the first time through. I'm playing it again now, does anyone know where you can pick these up?

Liara gave them to me when I invited her back to the Normandy for a drink.

Ahhh, ok. I didn't invite here back since I was romancing Tali, thought it might get weird. XD I'm sure she won't flip out over a drink though. ;) Thanks!

What did the Paragon Interrupt do after killing varis(?) and liara told the plan.

They're basically all "Get ahold of yourself!" moments, trying to break her out of her OMFG KILL SHADOWBROKER obsession.

If she did, EDI saw the whole thing, and you can just ask EDI to play back the surveillance tape.

lol No problem. I romanced Tali in my playthrough as well, it isn't really bad though. She gets to see the Normandy and so forth.

I'll get the criticisms out of the way first - the first combat map seemed a bit buggy, the car chase, while a great idea in theory, handles like crap, and of course the whole thing is too short at about two hours (not counting going through the files at the SB base, I haven't done that yet.) Probably my biggest peeve is that the Shadow Broker, supposedly one of the smartest beings in the galaxy, is dumb enough to let himself be provoked into a physical altercation by Liara and promptly gets his butt handed to him. Kind of a lame way to go for what has been an ominous presence for the past 30+ hours of playtime.

BUT. That all completely pales in comparison to the good. All of the locales are awesome. We're getting all kinds of stuff that we've been asking for here, not least of which is the ability to retrain all of the squadmates' powers. Squad banter with Liara. Countless references to ME1 and the choices made along the way. Liara as a squadmate with a singularity power that can be warp-sploded. And of course the thrill of getting Liara back. I feel like a gigantic idiot admitting this, but I went into LotSB clearly planning to stick with Miranda and dump Liara for good, but I just couldn't do it. That's testament to good writing, obviously, I just liked the character too much. And then there's the little touches like the ME1 theme song playing at just the right moment.

I'm sure we're 48 hours away at the most from the nerdragers complaining that Liara's head tentacles were at a funny angle and there was too much combat again, but for the moment, while we're all still rejoicing... BW clearly took everything that was great about ME2 here, added a ton of stuff we've been asking for and wrapped it all up in a nearly perfect package of kick-ass.

WANT MORE. NOW.

One thing that I would like to see out of future DLCs is more dialouge out of your squadmates not just shep.  I kinda found it weird with them just standing around speechless while something monumental is happening right in front of them.

if you check my sig, you'll find a lot of people want the same thing.

Is anyone else reading this thread thinking the praise is a little too much for LotSB? Someone said that it was better than the suicide mission... to that I give an emphatic h-e-double hockey sticks no.

I still think Overlord was better in the story aspect, the ending of that DLC was awesome. SB had more humor (dossiers) and also great combat, but ME is about the story. I found the story lacking vs. Overlord.

The SB story has been nicely building since Shep's 1st conversation with Udina/Anderson in the Citadel in early ME1, No??

I thought the SB story started out fantastic but the DLC killed the anticipation. The Shadow Broker is supposed to be just as good, if not better, at getting information than TIM. Sadly, he was no where near as cool or enigmatic as TIM. Liara "feeling" that she needs to be the Shadow Broker was corny to me. The Shadow Broker does everything whether it's good or bad, and most of the time -- it's pretty bad. She doesn't fit into that area AT ALL from my perspective. She gets information, sure, but she isn't as ruthless as the past Shadow Broker(s). It was all a bit too hokey for me.

I understand and take your point although I dont necessarily agree with it.  I was just making the point that I've been wondering about the SB since about 30mins into my very 1st playthrough of ME1.  Overlord whilst very very good, was about the human/geth creation going rogue and the risk it then presented.  It didnt grip me, and make me think about about all the possibilities like the SB story has done.  My point was only about the story aspect.

My point was about the story aspect as well. The implications of the VI getting out of control were actually pretty catastrophic (if you die when fighting David, the VI uploads to the normandy and would spread from there) but I see what you mean -- the whole Shadow Broker saga is a lot more appealing and has been talked about for a long time now.

All I'm saying is that, given the two DLCs --- one about a previously never-before-heard-of rogue VI and another about a well established, powerful but enigmatic character (SB) the latter should deliver a much larger punch than the former. What I mean to say is that LotSB is a good DLC, it's just not nearly as epic or awesome as it could or should have been. Like I said, this guy is the Shadow Broker. He was TIM's rival in the information world and probably one of the biggest players in all of the galaxy. I just felt his story should have been something much more epic to compensate for his "awesomeness" that was already established since ME1. In fact when Shepard confronted the Shadow Broker I expected a long winded talk about the Shadow Broker's dealings and power... only to have none of it. It was just a hostile confrontation and then boom, he's dead. A huge missed opportunity to flesh him out I feel like. And while the dossiers are amusing/somewhat helpful to understanding your crew there isn't much else to learn about HIM.

The Shadow Broker's story was never about who he was, but who would replace him.

I just finished a few minutes ago, I was more then satisfied with the results of the DLC.

It almost brought a tear to my eye to reconnect with Liara. Thanks Bioware! :D

Sadly this one can't really be resolved coz of financial reasons. The only way around it for DLC is to keep it focussed on one or two characters. I thought you had more then enough between Liara and Shepard to keep it feeling lively though: probably the best squad interaction during a mission so far.
I suppose one possible solution would be for Liara to be involved in a Kaiden/Ashley DLC so you had a whole team though.

Ooo yes! Liara + Ash/Kaidan DLC would be awesome. I would love to hear all their banter!

It would be wonderful, Liara again:wub: with some connections if you played LotSB, of course. I'm feeling like Liara will be pregnant in ME3, if we romanced her in this DLC...

Anyway, someone expecting others DLC in the next months, maybe other bridges to ME3?

And what about ME 2.5 on January 2011, at 1 year from ME2 release?

Hiya,

I was wondering what the whole terminals at the end were actually for. The ones with the missions including "Smear campaign". Are they extra missions you can do, or stuff that you get shadow broker operatives to do and could affect the storyline later?

Cheers

I am wondering the same thing actually.

It appears to be a way to generate a little extra cash if you find yourself short.  You pay the fee to get the project started, and if it succeeds (and I don't know if success is determined by random chance or some other variable) then you receive a payoff.  A new project then appears once you've been paid.

On another note, it looks like Bioware never did anything with the lone SB thread from ME1 - i.e. whether or not you gave the SB data from the Cerberus project that you shut down while trying to help Kahoku.

I might be stating the obvious here, but did anyone notice that Matriarch Aethyta (the bartender) is Liara's other parent?

You can choose the mission through the terminal, you pay a small fee. Leave the Broker's lair (go to the Normandy or something) come back, and when you check the terminal again, click on results and it tells you if it was a success or not, if successful, you receive credits. I think the success/fail may depend if you're renegade or paragon, but I don't know for sure. I hope this helps!

Question about LI's and Liara. She makes a 1 line mention of you cheating on her and then later she says your with no one. Is this intentional?

Loved this DLC. Seriously, without a doubt the best DLC I've seen from BioWare, and really has given a lot more depth to Mass 2. Excellent dialogue, cinematics and... well, everything really.

More insight into our crew, unrestricted access to SB's resources, meeting another Spectre.

And as soon as she charged my immediate reaction was: "FINALLY! BioWare finally made another Vanguard!"

I trully despised the other so-called "Vanguards" in the game because, honestly, they were gimped. ASARI vanguards, were gimped. No charge, no shockwave... it sucked a lot, and really ruined a lot of the game immersion. Now it seems that, from an in-game perspective, at least one could argue that vanguards with charge are rare and represent the epitome of the class. Not even Jack, the so-called super-biotic powerhouse has it.

Afterwards my Vanguard!Sheploo destroyed her. Utterly. Didn't think it'd be that easy, honestly.

(and yes, Insanity playthrough)

My ONLY, true regret, is that my Shepard kept forgetting he was a biotic during the cinematics...

Probably has to do with what you did during your playthrough.  Did you take a romance clear up to the end and then abort it at the last second?  She's probably acknowledging that.

If you're involved in a relationship with Tali then Liara makes a comment about you helping "Vas Normandy" with her homeworld.

That's cinematics for you.  I kept waiting for Garrus to snipe her as she ran.
