Do you really think that TMI would simply re-create Shepard and not hide some nasty genetic code device within him
Remember that Miranda says repeatedly very early on that there's nothing of the sort in you. The apparent rationale is that TIM didn't know exactly what part of Shepherd it was that "made Shepherd Shepherd". So he went ahead and decided to try and keep you as close to the original you as possible. And that included no secret brainwashing, no hidding mental commands, and no kill switches in case you turned against Cerberus.

Apologies if this has been asked already, but what are the differences if you play it before embarking on the suicide mission? I know that story-wise, it's essentially meant to happen post-SM, but I was just curious as to what dialogue was different, if at all.
just a difference in the initial message regarding intel and what Liara mentions after you tell her how you really feel
also there's no mention about TIM or the collector base if you saved it

She didn't know about that Dr guy who betrayed the station either... and look what happened there. Know what I'm sayin? I mean if a person who is pretty much a right hand agent of TIM says...yeah we kept you the same.... don't worry about it...
I think I would insure that it was true some how... like going off ship and getting my self some scan for re-assurance.

Miranda point-blank tells you that *she* wanted to put a control chip in you, but the Illusive Man forbid her from doing so.

There is no doubt that something horrid is going to occur between the Shepard/Liara joining and Cerberus.
There's no way those two can co-exist as they were enemies with the Shadow Broker in terms of how was the better --- shall we say in our time's terms --- CIA? I mean that's pretty much what the SB is --- a CIA/NSA type organization. I'm guessing Liara would have the cunning to make a alternative means to bypass them if Shepard should have to choose ( Hopefully he won't..it would probably mean death then).
Interesting plot to play with though... one hand... you have Civil War on your hands while the Reaper Invasion is still comming...or you join forces and hopefully one of you gets taken out during the process! Got to love Spy vs Spy games!
But let us ponder something...
Do you really think that TMI would simply re-create Shepard and not hide some nasty genetic code device within him --- sort of like what Fox Dye was to Solid Snake? I mean its not too far away from consideration knowing that he's automatically paranoid --- and who is to say that despite Miranda having relations that she isn't part of the program? Its something to ponder indeed. I know...if I was TMI... thats exactly what I would have done...not only that, I would also have an internal AI that would at some point take over the SR2 and decommission it if they should become a little too Rouge for my liking let alone some disabling device within Shepards body as insurance.
I mean the man is just like the Shadow Broker, its not like you can't see him doing this sort of thing.
i think the SB was more dangerous than TIM, he was a lot more defensive and sloppy killing off people like some universal terrorist cartel, TIM reminds me more of Gordon Gekko - a guy dangerous with his money and influence but easy to fool or hide things from (or even betray), there was no way to hide from SB and live for long if you betrayed him
edit: also SB even got active Spectres to become assassins for him, at best TIM recruits alliance dropouts, you're the first Spectre Cerberus ever got their hands on and that's largely because they stole your body from the SB with the help of Liara, and we can't forget that the SB's plan was basically to cut a deal with the collectors to ensure his survival... Cerberus - as dangerous as they are, at least have some stake in surviving a reaper invasion, so overall i'd say SB was like 10x a bigger threat than TIM

Does anyone have a list of the Shadow Broker's lines referencing your other squadmate besides Liara? I had Garrus with me, and he said something like "I see you brought Archangel to me. The bounty on his head remains intact."
Says something similar if you bring Zaeed as I did. But instead of Archangel he says "Massani"

Well, this is a DLC. Maybe in ME3 she won´t be that accepting. She still needs a boost to selfworth in romantic issues. Note that you have to goad her a bit to rekindle the relationship. She probably had convinced herself Shepard wouldn´t love her if he returned. That´s the way this makes more sense to me. I think a conversation also points this way.

BioWare knocked this one OUT OF THE FRIGGIN PARK!
It had everything I wanted: a good storyline, excellent combat, and it handled the romance with Liara as well as could be.

The thing is, that if you do betray cerberus, Miranda is right there with you. So if she knows, you'd know. (If you don't betray Cerberus the whole point is mute cause TIM has no reason to activate a kill switch).
That leaves the scenario that Miranda doesn't know (although, as you said, she is TIMs right hand, not to mention the supervisor of Lazarus)
Two possibilities:
TIM put it in without anyone in Lazarus knowing (but why hide it from Miranda, who is completely loyal to cerberus in the beginning)
Wilson put it in on behalf of the SB (in which case, Liara would now have control over it and given you rather good "working" relationship with her, I doubt she'd activate it or not tell Shep as soon as she finds out).
In the end, BW put quite some effort into reassuring you that you are just the same as in ME1. I don't think they'd have gone to such lengths if they consider that plotline.
EDIT
Oh and BTW, something else: IIMO, the SB comes off much more sloppy than
TIM does. Granted, Liara searched for two years until she got that far
but TIM was hunted by the Alliance and the Council for 2 decades without
them catching him. IMO the SB was remarkebly sloppy and sending a whole
platoon of soldiers to illium was not very subtile either (I'd go as
far as to say it was plain stupid). Maybe the yagh (did I spell that
right) messed the whole operation up during the past 60 years or so but
I guess even without Liara, it doesn't seem to me that he would have
lasted for much longer anyway.

GUESS FOR CHRIST'S SAKE.
Ruins it if I tell you outright.
The turian cop at the beginning?
So am I right? Turian cop who got a gold star for spotting the bullet holes?
We have ourselves a winner. Bet you can't guess who Javi voiced though.
Can I have a gold star too?
No, because you're actually wrong. Try again.
Seriously, no one is even coming CLOSE. It can't be that hard. There's not a lot of roles Javi and I could've taken.
Then if we're not even coming close, why not reveal it? This seems to me like you're trying carry it on for pages or something. Just tell us already.

I think I'll go with "Neither of you voiced a character", since you aren't saying who.
And I shall postulate this every time you post saying "Guess!" until you cease with this.

These are strong points to consider, but you can see where the mystery could still exist, I just don't see the TIM as a trust person..although it seems Miranda knows where his location is as its suggesting they were talking one on one during the first scenes after the SR1 destruction.
And as BW may have --- it seems that the cooks within Bio Ware's kitchen can change their mind and dish out something completely different by the means they crafted ME2. So you know --- anything could happen in that route --- --- what I'm just saying is, if I were Shepard, and these people were telling me " Nahhh...don't worry-a-bout-it... just ****hettabouit and move on to what your doing, we'll keep things in check on our side... oh and by the way --- don't do anything the TIM wouldn't want you to do! "
I can see the TIM being devious and doing it anyway. He seems to be a man of multiple layers of insurances.
Think of the bad ass scene you can up with as a thriller during ME3.
TIM: I'm sorry Shepard, you cost me too much in this rouge buisness of yours...I'm afraid I'm going to have to shut you down.
Shepard: And how are you going to do that?
TIM: With this --- ( smoothly taps a key on his kisok) ... with... this! ( tries again)
Miranda: You mean the DNA Regeneration module? ( dangles module in a glass tube)
Shepard: ( Fires off a round and leaves TIM spinning in his chair with a smoking hole in his head) Consider this my 2 Weeks Notice. ( lights an unused cigerette from the flaming hole in his head)

So
- for the semi-forced romance with no indication
- for the former SB itself.
Of course it's a matter of preference. The character itself was right, even the suit that gave him a comical relief, but the Machine Gun with a Shield, it was too much comics for me. But again, it's highly depends on the player.
Still the best DLC up to this date.

Extensive as it was i would have loved to see some new guns in the collection.. its the shadow broker youd have though thered be some experimental tech around..
FANTASTIC you get the SB base with the screens etc.. great vids to watch... however in one you see David Anderson in a cerberus uniform talking to Anderson.. is he on the Normandy.. and is he the Alliances man on the Normandy... why cant you question him on it.. and is he the guy leaning on the wall in the canteen
Car chase is great its reminisencent of the chases in the 5 th element and in Star Wars II.. all good fun.. love to see more of that...
Was concerned about the glitch with the blowing up buidling though.. when I ran the mission again it resolved and the cut scene is fantastic...
I was surprised that there is not meet and greet between Liara and the old team members such as Garrus and Talia.. thought that would have been good...
Shadow broker himself is excellent.. although i agree his shield and gun were a little Manga.. for my liking.. still.. it worked.. and was good fun...
Have to say im loved this DLC.. much better than Overlord... looking forward to the next DLC that comes out.. although given Dragon Ages has just released its final DLC.. im a little nervous that we wont be seeing many more DLCs for ME2 if at all..?
Please dont let that be so..!!!
Great Job Bioware..!!

Fair enough about the BW guys. And such a dialogue would be pretty cool (as renegade option) though I guess they'd have to inroduce that implant somehow. I'd love it if they would somehow be able to transport Shep to the base in a way, so that he suddenly steps out of his own hologram into TIMs "office". I'd like to see the look on his face:o.
