i like the new liara actually, she reminds me of oracle aka barbra gordon from the batman comics but more bad ass

To be fair Barbara was pretty badass when she was Batgirl before Joker put her in a wheelchair.

I like the new Liara too... Liara v3.0 if you will (if you count ME1 Liara as v1.0 and SB-Hunter Liara from vanilla ME2 as v2.0). She's got a little of both, but afterwards is closer to her ME1 self again in many ways, but not fully. A little less naive and a little more wisened and mentally stronger and more confident. She actually grew a fair bit in the DLC story itself, with a great weight now off her shoulders combined with Shepard's support and guidance. She'll never be the same Liara again thanks to her recent past, which has left a permanent scar I feel, but she's been made stronger for it at the same time. I just fear for what could happen to her over time with such information and resources at her disposal. Shepard may keep her honest, combined with her quest to help him/her stop The Reapers. But who knows once that's behind them what it could do to her.

well dont forget edi mentioned the normandy 2.0 is based on reaper tech so im guessing liara somehow replaces edi

Fantastic DLC, well done Bioware, being able to read the shadow broker's intel on squad mates and other important characters was a particularly nice touch. The combat was great as always, music was good, dialogue and overall story were good. Liara's skillset was probably the best of any biotic except Miranda, I didn't use stasis but I can see it's value in stopping those persistent Geth Destroyers and Geth Primes.

The boss battle with Tela Vasir was incredible, that was the first time I got the sense that a biotic was truly powerful. Jack and Samara are all well and good but their powers seemed "floaty" for lack of a better word, Tela gave a true sense of impact force and speed. The Shadow Broker's use of a shield made the battle feel a bit more strategic than previous bosses, but he was certainly overshadowed by Tela both in a sense of power and in the antagonism of his character.

After all the speculation about who/what the shadow broker was, it was a little bit of a let down to find out he's from a race that had never been mentioned. While he was sorta silhouetted in shadows I originally thought he was a fat salarian, then i saw his three way mouth :(

Anyway, you can add this to the list of success stories with Kasumi and Overlord, keep em coming ;)

I'm amazed how one 5 minute DLC scene (one question, truthfully) could give Shepard more character depth than the two full games put together. Bravo, Bioware. Hope you keep in little tidbits like that in ME3, it was remarkably effective in turning the character who was a piece of bland toast into a relatable human being.

I loved this DLC so much that I've just bought another 1600 BW points. DA stuff is apparently bugged all to hell, so maybe it's Overlord for me next then.

I had this same problem. Is this a glitch or the way it's supposed to be? I tried looking for an answer in the link but it's extremely...long and my eyes hurt. Is there a quick answer?

I was kind of hoping that the Shadow Broker would remain a largely unknown element to the Mass Effect universe, especially when I first played Mass Effect. However, after playing the DLC, I thought it was absolutely wonderful. Quality on this DLC was great. I liked Liara's conclusion that the yaugh shadow broker killed the original one sixty-odd years ago. Makes sense. The history and insight into the universe was a nerdgasm for me, the dossiers and archive videos were awesome.

Grunt's final search: sharks  LOL:lol:

I thought the shadow broker was like a reaper experiment of a salarian, batarian and vorcha. Yaugh or Yaug as he was called, has a very cryptic name and implies fear and was pretty fitting imo.

Overall very thorough and polished dlc, loved it.

So TIM knows both who and where the new shadow broker is now. How long till he tries to have Liara assassinated and take over SB's operation for himself?

Though given SB's penetration of Cerberus, Liara would probably know of such a plan well in advance, its still something to think about.

But the SB's dossier on TIM implies that the SB either knows or could find out where TIM is.

They're at a stalemate.

Which might explain why they've never gone to all-out war with each other.

Something I noticed... The DLC recognizes if you finished the Suicide Mission, and even what the fate of the Collector base is... but the game still does not recognize the fact that Paragon Shepard told Timmay to go soak his head. Why am I still considered a Cerberus lackey? It's even reflected in the dossiers, with Legion's chat with EDI about communicating electronically. Cerberus can go take a long walk off a short pier AFAIC by that point in the game.

"Fall in line or step aside, but don't get in my way." Doesn't get any more clear-cut than that, BW devs.

OMG yes I noticed this but didn't think about it at the time.  I'm still considered Cerebrus lap dog yet I did everything I could to ****** off TIM at the end.   Thats a bit lazy if you ask me.

I also finished ME2 with "Fall in line or step aside, but don't get in my way." (my second favourite line in the entire series after ME1's "If you've got the guts...") - but I don't still feel like Cerberus's lacky. What in LotSB made you guys feel that way?

OK, I guess the initial email came from Cerberus intel - but I figure I've quit jobs and had the odd email come through from accounts or marketing in the following couple of weeks. Not a big deal, and given Cerberus's usual level of competance, it doesn't surprise me that they've failed to send an internal memo (plus they're probably dealing with the events of ME: Retribution). More likely TIM is okaying the sending of these emails to see if Shepard follows them up - playing the long game and all.

If your Shepard is done with Cerberus and all it's projects, you needn't play Overlord or LotSB, or play them pre-suicide mission. For me - I figured with Overlord (post-SM) that the email was pre-Omega 4 relay and I just hadn't got to it yet - I did it because a. I figured a Cerberus project ****ing up was probably something I should look into for galactic security and b. any additional dirt I can use against them is good too.

Vasir mentions your relationship with them, but then, if it's shortly after the SM, she probably doesn't know the new situation.

I mentioned earlier in the thread - One of the things I most loved about the DLC is the fact that I now have the resources to pay the crew, get intel, fund missions, repair the Normandy etc - through Liara. Prior to LotSB I was thinking - how am I got pay/feed these guys??!! I figured Miranda had a bit tucked way for a rainy day... but running the Normandy must be expensive!!

My one complaint about the DLC is that the SB could've used more development. I thought his boss fight was cool but Tela Vasir completely upstaged him as an antagonist.

Agreed.  For a second I thought that wouldn't be the SB since he was so confident and arrogant, that we were talking to a hologram and we'd go to another planet to hunt him down.

From the perspective of who was the better antagonist, Vasir definitely outclasses the SB.  Though...now that Vasir's death at Shepard's hand is canon...what will the Council think?  That's TWO long-standing Spectres that Shepard has offed now.

Does anyone know if/when the videos will be updated. There's three cycles at the moment right? I am gripped, gripped I tell you (!!) by Anderson's.

Did anyone notice that meeting the Cerberus agent he was in his Council gear from ME2, but if the fire fight with the Krogan he was in standard Alliance military dress uniform. Could the events of ME: Retribution have taken place between the vids???

After the fight with the Asari spector who was working for SB she says "You're Cerebrus' lackey don't you dare judge me" or something to that affect.

Have to agree with you there. So much information at your fingertips. Oh and DLC was amazing best one so far. I would comment on it but everyone has pretty much covered what I would say. Waiting patiently for a Kaiden/Ashley DLC now.

Those DLC would be great to have, seeing as I would like to have them act as Cousairs or have Shepard return toe the Alliance and finally meet Admiral Hackett.

True, but it's what two weeks after the SM. She probably hasn't heard. I doubt Shepard or TIM have been broadcasting it. They've had better things to do.

Good point. its kind of silly to just assume that everyone would know my allegiance hell the whole deal with the collectors is hush hush because the council would rather pretend nothing bad is happening.

Oh, she says that regardless of what you did? I thought for those who destroyed the base it would be something different. I guess you're right about the reason for it, though. There was no real way of knowing she'd meet Shepard or if it would be relevant, so the Shadow Broker had no reason to give her the news on what happened at the base.

In the hidden audio files, there was a conversation where Liara tells Shepard why the collectors were interested in his body. Did anyone get that conversation in the DLC? I never got it.

Yeah, pretty sure it's the same for both. I'm right there with you re: Cerberus - I would love the next DLC to be Alliance focused with the return of Kaidan or Ashley and a big FO to Cerberus forever.

Given that the Alliance and the Council have massively let down Shepard, it's great that the SB Lair has kinda made him an independent galactic operator... I wonder if the paradigm for ME3 is just that. Shepard with no affiliation... not the Council, Alliance or Cerberus - but him (and Liara) uniting the races against the Reapers without a boss. Would be cool

The glitch  lies in the way the karma check system is set up.  IIRC, basically, it's not a measure of the absolute number of karma points you have.  The game keeps track of all potential karma events up to that point, and has a "maximum you could have" as well as your karma value.  You may not have enough.

That's why ME1 importers often have little problem with the equally high-requirement loyalty crises with Jack/Miri and Tali/Legion: they likely got a headstart on karma points from the import and likely managed to have a current karma level very close to (or even exceeding!) the "max karma you can have" value.

Is this your case?  Did you not get a head-start on karma from a ME1 import?

Got my first practical use out of Stasis against a YMIR mech in the conclusion of the Blue Suns prothean dig site N7 assignments. Two YMIR mechs reduced temporarily to just one. I think a glitch or something happened, because the second one exploded before I started wailing on it But Contestant #1 went down without having to bust out the arc projector.
