Something I noticed... The DLC recognizes if you finished the Suicide Mission, and even what the fate of the Collector base is... but the game still does not recognize the fact that Paragon Shepard told Timmay to go soak his head. Why am I still considered a Cerberus lackey? It's even reflected in the dossiers, with Legion's chat with EDI about communicating electronically. Cerberus can go take a long walk off a short pier AFAIC by that point in the game.

"Fall in line or step aside, but don't get in my way." Doesn't get any more clear-cut than that, BW devs.

OMG yes I noticed this but didn't think about it at the time.  I'm still considered Cerebrus lap dog yet I did everything I could to ****** off TIM at the end.   Thats a bit lazy if you ask me.

I also finished ME2 with "Fall in line or step aside, but don't get in my way." (my second favourite line in the entire series after ME1's "If you've got the guts...") - but I don't still feel like Cerberus's lacky. What in LotSB made you guys feel that way?

OK, I guess the initial email came from Cerberus intel - but I figure I've quit jobs and had the odd email come through from accounts or marketing in the following couple of weeks. Not a big deal, and given Cerberus's usual level of competance, it doesn't surprise me that they've failed to send an internal memo (plus they're probably dealing with the events of ME: Retribution). More likely TIM is okaying the sending of these emails to see if Shepard follows them up - playing the long game and all.

If your Shepard is done with Cerberus and all it's projects, you needn't play Overlord or LotSB, or play them pre-suicide mission. For me - I figured with Overlord (post-SM) that the email was pre-Omega 4 relay and I just hadn't got to it yet - I did it because a. I figured a Cerberus project ****ing up was probably something I should look into for galactic security and b. any additional dirt I can use against them is good too.

Vasir mentions your relationship with them, but then, if it's shortly after the SM, she probably doesn't know the new situation.

I mentioned earlier in the thread - One of the things I most loved about the DLC is the fact that I now have the resources to pay the crew, get intel, fund missions, repair the Normandy etc - through Liara. Prior to LotSB I was thinking - how am I got pay/feed these guys??!! I figured Miranda had a bit tucked way for a rainy day... but running the Normandy must be expensive!!

According to RETRIBUTION, TIM is playing the long game, believing there might be a time when he might work with Shepherd again.  This was of course to account for whether you had your Shep continue to work with Cerberus or blow up the Collector Base.

He may also want to curry favor with Shepard, thus decreasing the chances of Shepard going after TIM. Because Shepard outranks Reapers on the list of "Things you do not want to face, ever."

Indeed. Shepard is the badest badass going!

One problem i had was we did not get a big good/bad choiceduring the mission. I love those moments. :D

For one thing, despite all the troubles of getting this DLC, the dossiers part proves to be worthy reading materials, some of which I find funny...like Garrus ways of killing targets...

Your very welcome!  If you want to do me a favor you can bump the little thread I made so I don't have to bump it myself.  I just want people who don't have the time to play as renegade or as a male to see the options and results they missed!

Here's the thread, if you just want to say thanks or something to give it a bump up:

Sure thing :-)

Thanks much.

I think I know the answer to this, but is it impossible to start a romance with Liara this DLC? I've already played through with my ME1 import who had romanced her, but my alternate Renegon Shepard I just started from ME2 and havn't romanced anyone yet, and she's a better option than Kelly or any of the guys.

If you're playing very late game, you'll need a completely full bar.  Just the way the system works.   If you do the mission much, much earlier (like first thing after Horizon) you really don't need a lot to pass the check for either option.

Got the Reminisce with Liara to work today. Serious kudos for having the background music be the Love Theme from ME1. That was my second favorite music in the game, right after Specter Induction.

Need to replay my Vanguard game again with all the DLC. I keep using the last save right before the Omega 4 relay for each new DLC so none of them are part of her 'official' game.

That's good. I blew up the Collector base and was less than friendly back on the ship, but didnt get the line telling Joker to lose the signal. Then during the DLC it bothered me how I was still part of Cerberus wheras I don't want to be and I always take Miranda along so she can quit too. Heck I may take Jacob with her to see if they both quit.

I'm currently doing Legion's loyalty again, be totally against Cerberus at the end. I am surprised at the small difference between doing the DLC before and after the Collector base. Only things I noticed was a line different by the Shadow Broker (mentions the deal with the collectors still stands or use the Normandy to go to the destroyed base to get tech) and some variations in what Liara says. IMO, it's not worth waiting until cmpleting the game to do this. I'll just go back to her not long after revealing the Observer.

Yeah did the dlc after the main story. Thought it might happen as it did that when Tali and Legion were having an argument so i had to take her side then lie to Legion right after.

So, now that the Shadow Broker is gone and Liara has taken over his network, does this mean that the torture/murder/extortion/kidnapping/assassinating that his syndicate is so well-known for will stop?

<-- Hasn't played the DLC

I Doubt that, There are many agents of the Shadow Broker that where appreciative of that lifestyle that came with that type of job.
If anything Liara is in more danger now than she ever was.
What this DLC has proven, Nobody is beyond reach. No matter how much you hide.
Im guessing that over time Liara will change to the role she has taken. Power Corupts. And Knowledge is power.

Interesting question.  I doubt Liara (or Shepard for that matter) would want it to continue but if it stopped, everyone involved in working for the Shadow Broker would wonder what's up.  So if Liara wants to continue to pose as the Shadow Broker to use his intel operation to do good things, I would think it would have to continue.  Interesting moral dilemna in the future and could be a good scene to play out at a future date.

If you go by the investment terminal  in the broker's base I would say things will stay the same.

Really?  I'll have to go look again.  I went to it but didn't look closely and I didn't have an interest in making investments.  I'll have to go back and read!

This is the first time I've provided input on LotSB as I just finished it last night, but WOW! This should be the gold standard for DLC. Paced phenomenally well, great dialog, fun boss battles, and emotionally charged (especially if Liara is your LI). On top of that, it truly feels like what you've done expands the story (even after the mission) and has an impact on events to come. Bioware did a beautiful job with this!

Agreed.  In fact, I think it should be the gold standard for ME3.   Don't get me wrong, I think ME2 is the best game out there but LotSB seemed to take ME2 up a notch with a fuller integration of character interaction/dialogue (the ongoing dialogue between Liara and Shep that we didn't control) as well as doing a great job of including movie like scenes periodically throughout the mission.

My ultra short yet precise LotSB review: WOW!
