But am I the only one who would like to see a bit more interest from Liara after all is said and done? Don't get me wrong, I think the romance scene was perfectly handled, but when you return to TSB's base all Shepard gets is "Thanks for coming by". Really? With that being the only line of dialogue between them after the dlc is finished, you have to wonder if Shepard is her LI or some IT guy called upon to fix all the crooked monitors in her office.

Just a thought.

That really depends of what your idea of a good relationship is. In my world you don't have to go around showing your affection all the time. It gets boring. But the main reason for this is that the DLC has to end at some point...

No worse than the complete non-recognition of consummation you get from the other ME2 LIs after the SM.

So I just finished the Shadow Broker and I have a question.  Do I have to have Liara as my love interest in ME1 to have any romance with here with this DLC?  My character I played with hooked up with Ashley in ME1.  After beating the Shadow Broker Liara came back to the Normandy in a sexy dress, but we just talked.  Maybe hugged.  Is this it or can you actually be "romantic" with her?  Just curious if I needed to replay ME1 or maybe I chose the wrong dialogue.  Thanks.

yeah there is more if you romanced her. You need to romance her from ME1. It's worth it.
The DLC is almost completely different if you romanced her compared to not romancing her

I just watched the romance scene on Youtube and it was awful. The hold each other and her eyes turned black and then she got on the elevator. Is that really it or was this not a good romance ending. The ME1 romances were kind of hot and Mirandas scene isn't bad. I wanted to see Liara strip down like ME1.

I know byt Liara is just I can't stand the voice amoung other things. It's just me I guess but I want a DLC with Ashley now.

Interesting question.  I doubt Liara (or Shepard for that matter) would want it to continue but if it stopped, everyone involved in working for the Shadow Broker would wonder what's up.  So if Liara wants to continue to pose as the Shadow Broker to use his intel operation to do good things, I would think it would have to continue.  Interesting moral dilemna in the future and could be a good scene to play out at a future date.

 If you go by the investment terminal  in the broker's base I would say things will stay the same.

Really?  I'll have to go look again.  I went to it but didn't look closely and I didn't have an interest in making investments.  I'll have to go back and read!  

The first batch of investments isn't so bad.  The most objectionable thing in there is a smear campaign against a corrupt anti-human politician.  But there's one in the second batch of investments (can't remember the details off the top of my head) that caused me to say, "My paragon isn't going to like this..."

Errrmm... you have a point about watering downed content but...

Dude. Did you even play through the DLC yet? Or was this an  open-the-christmas-package-before-Christmas  deal?

You don't have much luck with ladies in real life do ya obi?

The overall romance was done incredibly well. We all understand what occured between them without having to expressly see it.

I'm not talking about an extension to the dlc or even a dialogue tree option. All I'm saying is "Thanks for coming by" just sounds too impersonnal for two people that have been through so much together over the last 2 games, even from a non-LI perspective.

I agree with it, Mass Effect isn't a porn game, that romance was enough, especially for the ones who romanced Liara. And Mass Effect is the best because of the story, which includes the romance, but not for the sex scenes.

Less sex scenes and more squad dialogues... and a story even better.

We charge so fast that we slow down our perception of time.  While those soldiers have to screw with their hormones, we just warp the laws of reality...  With our minds.

I only have one loyal ME import and a from-scratch ME2 character. I really don't feel like replaying both games right now just to find out, but I'm really curious. I'd like to see her flip her lid

Aside from everything else, I have enjoyed quite a bit these silly mini-chats during fights or chases. It would be great if there would be more mini-chats in ME3 too. I am looking forward to the final part (hopefully with LI Liara and all crew)!



By the way, I am sort of disturbed by Liara playing Shadow Broker's cards too. I mean she is basically a good person but this field isn't exactly great for playing paragon. So her line, that she is okay because there are reapers, made me think about how okay it will be after that?

I don't see why anyone would do this post SM anymore. The sheer fact that it has 2 research upgrades (heavy pistol damage and damage protection) and AT VERY LEAST 4 extras from the terminal right next to Liara (Assault Rifle Damage (Yes Assault Rifles can now get 7/7 damage upgrades) SMG Damage, Shotgun Damage and Sniper Rifle damage). I honestly question why anyone would really WANT to wait for post Suicide Mission to do this when starting a new game.

There could be even more upgrades from that Terminal she stands next to, I'll continue to check (I do this by saving on the Normandy, checking the terminal, then reloading a save if there is no research upgrade. Using that method you could get all 4 upgrades by completeing 4 missions after this one is over).

I know the Dialog is weighted towards Post Suicide Mission. But honestly I think it just makes more sense to do it beforehand.

Great DLC. I hope every DLC and ME 3 can live up to the standard this one set. This has been my favorite ME 2 experience.

I just finished playing the main part of the DLC, and I am impressed. It's action filled, fast and focussed. A lot of fun as well, with the small talk that happens, especially in the car chase. Shep and Liara get on so well together, they are great friends.



I'm planning on restarting ME2 this weekend, need to get a proper playthough done after all the DLC. Looking forward to hitting the Shadow Broker again! Now I just have to hope there's an Ash DLC soon.

Kinda tricky. What should the Shadow Broker say to her LI, who saved her and all sapient life in the galaxy several times upon meeting him/her again without anything "special" actually having happened since their last meeting? I can see why they stuck with "Thanks for coming by." The real question is: what else could she say?
