GUSH GUSH GUSHY GUSH GUSHI am just...wow. Normally, I'm so squarely in the DA camp I rarely venture over here, but LotSB? Holy cow, it was amazing. Just...just...
I mean, once I finished Witch Hunt, the first thing I did was b*tch. I mean, Jesus Christ, in comparison? It's just terrible. Just
terrible. I mean, it was amazing for Liara to
actually ask me about myself. Who asks about Shepard? Ever? Except Jacob when he wants to bang you, bless his stable soul? And then all of these little in-references (FINALLY FINALLY FINALLY someone mentions Cerberus and Sole Survivor Shepard! FINALLY!). The battles were far more interesting and new (Vanguard Charge!).
I'm sorry, the Strider thing jumped around. Wow. Dragons do that.
And then the Shadow Broker's base? That was amazing! All of the videos, all of the new stuff,
the Dossiers. Seriously, I've always had trouble caring about my crewmates because we never find anything out about them. Reading those Dossiers made me like them, like, ten times more. Reading Legion's gaming skills, or Miranda's e-dating attempts, Grunt's schizo research on sharks and Hemingway and, oh my god, Thane's
letter. I've never felt upset over an ME romance. Ever. Sometimes I smiled and mentally said "awwww", but it was rare. In DAO, I felt plenty. I ran the gamut of emotions over the course of their romances, but Jesus Christ they need to cure Thane after reading that letter.
Also, I actually like Liara now. She asks about you. She asks about you! She doesn't completely ignore and brush you off anymore! ...She still seems creepily in-love with you, but you win some, you lose some. I honestly feel like she's the only friend Shepard has. Tali and Garrus sort of feel that way, but, as I said, they're so disconnected from Shepard. It's like you're their mentor, not their friend.
