On the whole as a DLC I was supremely impressed, aside from a few hefty audio glitches (dialogue cutting and one even cut all sound and took a full game restart).
Its a great paced DLC, still combat heavy, but clearly thats the basis of ME now. Still, there is a ton of dialogue, both conversation and throwaway interjections. All its written and acted extremely well. From a perspective of a faithful Liara romancer, it dealth with the massacre that was ME2 brilliantly, even acknowledging what a pathetic dodge of their romantic feelings it all was. Sadly thats the beginning of what turns out to be bad news. Honestly, with how this DLC ends (like many of us expected it would) I cant see it as anything but a clear statement that Liara is going to "preoccupied" player a middling support character and not rejoin the squad. I mean, unless Bioware are seriously trying to throw a curveball, I think Liara talking about Shepard facing the reapers without her and hoping hell return is a pretty f**king huge "Im not going to be fighting them alongside you in ME3" statement, and really, regardless of how good the DLC is (and its brilliant), that ultimately ruins the whole thing, just like I knew it would.
My new found apathy to the all but completely confirmed sideline future for Liara, and consequently my lack of caring about the future of the ME story aside, it was still a long, hard, enjoyable play, that was very much worth my money.
Pity it comes at the cost of feeling pretty much like the "swan song" for Liara as a squadmate and someone who participates in the Mass Effect story *right beside* Shepard as a squadmate.

Ah, well, I didn't romance Liara in ME1, so I missed out on some things.Darth_Toth wrote...

Hey, it could happen. Nick Fury told Tony Stark that he wasn't fit to be an Avenger at the end of Iron Man 2, and we all know how that will turn out.

In as few spoilers as humanly possible, in the opinion those who have played it (pre or post suicide mission) when is it better to play it, pre or post suicide mission? As in, how heavy was the game shifting to one side, and if I played it, pre suicide mission, does it still feel almost the same?
I am not asking someone to play it twice, god no, but if someone played it pre suicde mission and said it still fit well, thats all I need to know.

Yes, it could happen, but I cant say Im certain that Bioware are doing the old "say something the complete opposite of what is actually going to happen" this time.
I have to say Im convinced that when Liara talks about Shepard facing down the reapers without her, and making him promise to return, its a pretty solid "she aint going to be beside Shepard in ME3 but on the sidelines" kind of hint.
Im sure Liara will have a very extensive support role as a main character in the plot, but it doesnt compare.
After all, one of the reasons this DLC was so great was the whole "temporary squadmate" deal. It was a short demonstration of why being a squadmate is so important, and I also feel a message that that isnt going to happen for Liara in ME3.
Shell play the Shadow Broker in ME3, and maybe have some nice romance content with a happily ever after epilogue, but I think her actually being in the thick of ME3 is now a pipe dream.

I also loved the fact that Shepard was enjoying the car chase. You could hear it in Hale's voice! She nailed it IMO!!! (Not a slam on maleshep as I haven't played this with one of mine yet).

amazing DLC, although I was disappointed with the Normandy encounter in the end, compared to ME1 that is. But overall best DLC for the game, worth the price. and Love all the little bits of information everywhere. LOVE seeing the korgan beat down the reporter as well haha
If you go in and watch them again it'll be a Volus that punks her this time lol
She also apparently has an Asari lover >.>

Now Liara is a very young woman by Asari Standards, and also the ONLY squadmate from both games combined that cannot be killed in any way AND is forced to be taken with you.
Now if Liara is not going to be in ME3 as a squadmate, then when Bioware makes another game in the ME universe ( which they said they will ) then Liara will definitely be there, unlike every other single squad member.
