And I would appreciate holier than thou people like Bogsnot on top to simply be silent as opposed to making snide remarks. The game ran fine for 5 days; this is a common issue (see the internet); I have a new system (W7, NVDia GTX 260 SLI - now not that new anymore; etc etc); now it crashes. You should be able to expect games to run for moderately recent NVidia cards on an expensive Alienware W7 computer, fully patched and all. I want to be a huge fan of Bioware considering their writing and so much more. Then, every game, I get eventually terminally frustrated as it has bugs that severely impede the game play experience.

I keep getting the same exact GPF after exiting conversations in the Noveria Sub Labs... hasn't happened for the first 19 hours I've been playing the game. Anyone figure out a fix...?

You should take note of the fact that after three years, there is just no one visiting this forum any more who has a great deal of current experience with it.  All of the Bioware Social forums for tech discussions are of this same type, user to user self-help.  When there is no one around to answer questions, the new people must use a decent search to check the Archives for answers.  There was NEVER any Bioware oversight in here, not ever.

There was only the normal very limited amount of interaction on the old Legacy Forum when the ME-1 Xbox version was brand new, and as is their pattern, that ended after a first patch.  When the PC port was released, there was zero from Bioware in that (Legacy) forum.

Personally, I do not recall any occasion I ever had any similar (GPF) difficulty, although I do clearly recall that nVIDIA kept on releasing bad drivers for nearly a year that wouldn't work in most UT3 games, causing the error flag to appear, and very sub-optimal video solutions, such as Intel's, triggered it as well.

AFAIK, EA Help is still available, even now, for ME1, but not easy to get responses from.

Thanks for taking the time. I remember seeing posts tagged as 'Bioware', but maybe that is from very long ago.

I played ME1 about three times without this error, then I wanted to have 5.1 surround sound and 120 fps on my 120 Hz monitor and in order to enable 5.1 sound I renamed BioEngine.ini (game then recreated it and finaly surround sound worked). I later modified that file and changed "MaxSmoothedFrameRate=62.000000" to "MaxSmoothedFrameRate=120.000000"
which helped and finaly I was able to have about 90-120 fps, however after that I experience "Rendering Thread Exception" every few minutes, I changed the value back to 62 and it did not help...
Then I used backuped BioEngine.ini and it did help but I lost 120 fps and 5.1 sound...I am quite sure that (at least in my case) the problem is in BioEngine.ini or surround sound.
Also the old BioEngine.ini has 49 kB and the new one has only 40 kB

I keep getting this error message. And this only happens on ME1 not 2. Im going to assume it has nothing to do with my computer spec :/

Intel's worthless video chips will do the same thing.
