Help, bioware points stole my money! lol

 So after a futile attempt to try and buy points directly with my card (i received the "your card cannot be verified message"). I made a paypal account and subsequently paid using that. Everything was going fine. I confirmed prices etc then it redirected me to paypal. Where i confirmed again after entering my password. Etc. then paypal redirected me back to bioware and i got the following message (paraphrased) "we are processing your transaction. Please do not use the back button and thank you for your patience". That's from memory but very close. So things were looking up and i was getting excited about morrigan (not that sort of excited just as in excited for a conclusion to the story.). But then i got the following message: (paraphrased) "payment failed please try again in a few minutes."
However, when i checked my account online indeed $7 had been taken out and given to "checkcard paypal EA inc." plus another two dollars (two separate transactions for one dollar each) for paypal. (i'm not worried about these i think they are just to check my account is an actual account with funds etc and i believe they get refunded. Obviously i'm more worried about the fact that bioware's site said my transaction didn't go through and paypal still took the money from me (and supposedly according to the transaction delivered it to ea).
I will check my points frequently to see if anything changes. But i get the feeling it won't. Can one of bioware's kind support people please pm me so i can send details etc to get this fixed.

I have the exact same problem, money taken no points granted. I'm opening a ticket to reclaim my money.

Same here... wanted to buy a few points to get the 2 DLC that are coming out today (For ME2 and DA:O) but no points are showing in my account.

I purchased 800 points this morning. 10.00 AM (European Time)

paypal has already given me a confirmation e-mail that the money has been paid.

But still no confirmation from EA, so I'm still without my BWpoints

Same problem here. Bought 1200 BioWare Points with PayPal 3 hours ago and my account still reports 0 points.

My previous point purchases were all instantaneous. The problem must be related to the heavy traffic on the site now.

update: so the 7 dollars paypal ea inc. now is removed from my online statement as if it never happened. but the paypal 1 dollar charges are still there

I emailed support earlier today and got a email back saying they now put the points in my account which they did. So good times, and just email them if you still have issues.

My husband put up his credit card and got the DLC for me, and we didn't have any issues with getting the points or downloading the DLC... It makes me wonder why some folk are having issues.

The best I can suggest is contacting support in such issues.

i emailed them and they told me to check my credit card for the normal stuff, expiration date, makee sure my address is the same etc. and also told me to check if my card was still active (something i did before contacting suport of course). so support not very helpful so far haha. but hopefully soon

Same problem with points not turning up, support told me to wait for forty-eight hours :(.

The problem with that is, assuming my points don't turn up after that time, support may take another twenty-four hours to respond to another help request.

haha yeah they told me to wait 24 ohurs but i was thinking that could mean up to 48 hours before another response.

I have the same problem bought points early this morning for Dragon Age addon and that went through fine then when the fixed version of the new Mass Effect DLC went up purchased another 800 to be told it went through Paypal but then the browser went to the Mass Effect 2 website. How do I get my points....you took my money!

What is the email you people used to sort this out???

The above posts saying they have to wait 48hours well that is complete crap...there should be some way you can cancel the transaction if it doesn't go through to the end.  Why is it a 2 step system anyway...Paypal takes my money...pays EA and then the browser has to confirm payment...only my browser just went to the main Mass Effect 2 page.

Sorry I am fairly ropeable at the moment as I wanted to spend today playing these expansions NOT having to wait a day or 2 or more days on a getting problem solved that is EA/Biowares fault.

update: so i had my gf try to pay with my card she is in california (i'm in korea) and it gave a different error and said try again later. i am absolutely sure my card works i called the bank last night to confirm.

This sure is an annoying issue... I've been waiting to play witch hunt and LotSB since their announcement (same as lots of people i guess) and mow that they are released all I have is 13,94 euros less on my paypal account :-/

Come on, Morrigan and Liara are waiting for me :D

Guys I don't think they're reading this forum much so I strongly suggest you contact them and explain your case, it's the only way to put pressure on them. I did already and got a reply though no solution yet.

when you say email "them" who are you refering to? I asked a question under the "my stuff" tab on support.ea.com, is that what you mean?

EDIT: I don't know which way you guys paid for your points but I used PayPal.
So I'm going to send a message to PayPal resolution center. Hopefully they can do something.

Well i have sent now 2 Email describing the problem. One to the paypal support and the other one too the EA support.

Ille give ya more info, once i get a reply.

Eugh, wish I had read the problem people have been having before i tried to buy some, wanted to buy all the Dragon Age DLC and bought 1600 with no problems then went to buy another 800 points and it took my money says it finished the Purchase and yet it never added the points. :/

Yep.. so I bought 800 points for the shadow broker dlc, paypal & my bank say its paid.
Support tell me I'll need to wait up to 72 hours to receive them.

Yeah, I guess they ran out of those digital points & need to print more? :blink:

After 24 hours of having not received my points, I contacted EA support and received this response:

“We are really sorry for that and we would like to tell you we have checked your account details and we have found that your 1200 bioware points transaction is cancelled so i would like to suggest you please purchase again for the mass effect DLC .”

Unfortunately I just checked the PayPal transaction details on PayPal.com; the payment status is listed as “Completed” not “Canceled”. My PayPal payment was made using a credit card--and there is a recent charge for $16.20 appearing on my credit card statement from PAYPAL *EA INC 402-935-7733 CA. This is the amount for the 1200 Bioware Points.

Sent off a response detailing this. But I don’t expect much. Guess I will be opening a PayPal dispute soon.
