Another idea I had for tweaking Stasis.

Make Stasis A Power You Can Detonate With Warp.

The idea being that the target itself will be unaffected by the damage from warp, or by the ensuing detonation; but any enemies nearby will get lit up.  It would kind of turn the enemy into a bomb in the same way that detonating an enemy affected by Dominate does.  Since Stasis can instantly effect any enemy regardless of whether they have protection or not, I could see how this combo might be too powerful; but I think the concept is worth play testing.

PS:  For anyone who hasn't tried warp detonating an enemy affected by Dominate, give it a try.  Its quite entertaining.

Yeah, I thought of the same idea. Though my idea was to use warp, or a biotic attack on someone that's stasis, which would not kill them, but would destroy their armor and shields. I thought of this since it's a bug in the game already. Sometimes when you stasis an enemy, and hit them with whatever, when the stasis lifts their shields and health drop to zero.

interesting article after reading, i have to play around with statis more before i can make a judgement on it, and see how it balances into the game. However i am looking forward to experiment with the power.

Yes, like in Dragon Age.  That would be excellent.

ah man you guys want to warp explode everything!

id rather they work on making things like shockwave effective instead of trying to find more ways to use warp.

I thought Warpsplosions only happened on biotically ragdolled targets?

Thanks for the insight! I will echo a previous posters compliment: Best money I've spent in awhile and the most fun I've had with a video game in recent memory. Keep up the excellent work!

Your seriously unable to find any practical use for shockwave?  Um, that's not the game's problem.

Singularity does not hold shielded targets for the listed duration, the listed duration is for unshielded targets. When used on shielded targets it quickly consumes charges while causing brief "I got hit" reactions.

Which was a nice touch on Insanity and it played it's role well.  Liara's powers were good.  I used Tali & Garrus of course, then chose Garrus for squad-armor piercing ammo and then brought Grunt for the last part (in which he did very well).

There has been an interesting effect of Stasis found in the Strategy board, that if you shoot a falling from Stasis enemy he takes INSANE damage, to the point of being able to one shot a Heavy Mech with a Claymore on Insanity. If this isn't a bug they change, then Stasis doesn't need to be explodeable, it already is extremely powerful. Ck out the new board and watch the videos Kronner does showing the Insane damage.

Another touch I liked, when fighting your way across the SB ship, any time you sent an enemy flying into the air high enough, the wind catches him, send him flying and lightning cooks them midflight.

I watched that with satisfaction more than a couple times.

Great to know what was involved in making Liara a squadmate and the work behind Stasis! Thanks Christina.

I'm curious to know more about the challenges of making Biotic Charge work for Vasir.

try this. throwing stasis for annoying and big enemy, then fight against others. then after 6-9 seconds, throwing singularity to enemy who you threw stasis. it is ultimate killing.

Dominate is the one exception.

Warp detonation works on enemies being effectied by Pull, Singularity, Slam and Dominate.  So you can use dominate on an enemy in the middle of a bunch of enemies (provided said enemie's defenses are down) then hit them with warp to turn them into a walking bomb.

Stasis is perfect !
I like to use it in all kind of situations with different classes. Playing with the moment when the enemy fall is really funny. It gives more strategy on the battlefield and let my Sheppard come closer to the enemy to try close combat ! Point Blank.
Stasis gives a lot of opportunities to create funny trap with Singularity. In fact it has 3 functions. Panic Button, Close combat, and Open windows to shoot from far away some boss when they are released from stasis. I like it !

It also has a really nice effect to it. Where as before it was hard to tell if it was just a biotic barrier as it had the same effect.

Either way she's the perfect teammate to go with an Adept. Too bad you don't get to use her for long.

I guess it was easy because it was a fixed place.Far less different then with shadow strike i guess.

As a random aside, I'd love to see Jacob given Stasis in place of incendiary ammo. It would make him a much more useful character than he currently is.

Stasis is a good power, it adds variety to how one plays the game.

One little trick I figured out:  it's a lovely little drone killer.  I just had Liara nailing rocket drones one after another, and pretty much ignored them otherwise.

i gotta try that. those things were annoying

It's great.  As soon as it wears off, they just drop straight down and explode.

Not sure if anyone noticed this yet but...If you put someone in Stasis, you can walk up the person and melee them to death.

I know this. I have done it. Was this intended?
