No.  No, I don't realize that, because if it were that simple, it would have been done already. There's obviously some other, more serious problem responsible.

No they don't, otherwise it would already have happened. It's more likely a bugged installer compile and will have to be rerun and retweaked.

If they typed it in by hand in Notepad over the phone they would be about done by now.

Frankly i think you have no idea what you're talking about. Of course you wouldn't, as would 99% of the people on this forum.

You paid $10 for having it. A release date, especially when broken for a silly accident like this for hours, is not a breach of contract or an attempt to scam you.

levicki wrote...
And staying silent about it for so long is doubly unacceptable. Shame on you Bioware!

They have posted that they're working on it. They are working on it. I too would welcome more detailed information about whats wrong, but in the end i'd prefer if they'd focus their resources on actually fixing it.

There have been numerous problems with DLCs.  Just because Witch Hunt went without a problem, doesn't mean past DLC didn't have their issues. In fact, the entirety of Dragon Age: Origins has been nothing short of a disaster. At no point do I remember ever having a game as riddled with glitches and unimplemented features as this.

This has to be the overstatement of the year....lol.

I always forget how many whiny gamers are out in the world. People do not realize how complicated it is to make a game, and mistakes happen.

I would go worry about more important things. Like world hunger, or something.
Just be patient, Bioware will fix it.

Why do people even post things like that?  Protip: if someone is throwing a conniption fit over videogame DLC, they're not gonna respond well to your high-handed moralizing.  That, and you've just successfully antagonized all the annoyed but otherwise rational folk who hate high-handed moralizing.  Oh, and make everybody wonder why you're not out combatting world hunger yourself intstead of moralizing at people on a videogame forum.

You, sir, win.
To your point: I agree, high handed moralising is rarely dispensed by aid workers handing out food packets in Sudan.
Mostly I find it comes from those who have never experienced things like hunger, ever in their lives.

Also, laughing my jacksy off at the file being filled with zeros.
I could have done that locally rather than using some of my download allowance:
(only penguin lovers need read ahead)
dd if=/dev/zero of=ME2_ShadowBroker.exe count=153600 bs=1024

Maybe some bioware dev was toying with such dark arts as bash scripting and accidentally ran that?
Reminds me of a certain rootkitting incident involving a well known Icelandic space-MMORPG maker XD

1.5 gigs of zeroes? Hell, I coulda written that.

As a programmer, I can relate. I've had a few instances where what should have been a simple install or patch hits just the right conditions and has unforseen consequences. Just give them time. I'm sure they're working double shifts to fix it.

Um... programmer? Riiiight...

Yes, I am a programmer and often what a user thinks is simple and what actually needs to happen to get something done are miles apart. Obviously it's not as simple as you say or they would have done exactly that. Or are you suggesting that they like all the bad press and hateful whining going on? They probably had to re-compile, which can take a long time for a file this size. Also means more QA and bug checking, which, if they're smart, they'll triple-check. Can you imagine the s#!tstorm if they released a buggy package after this morning's goof up?

I paid for it as well. To the best of my knowledge, I'm still going to
get it. Maybe it will arrive a bit late, like that there Kasumi girl, but key point: you're still going
to get it.

True, but looking at 42 pages of posts in one day I believe we both have a point. Posted Image

I mean every hour it takes them to put this DLC up the more people are going to be angered by this. It is absolutely foolish Bioware shouldn't have even gotten a lunch break or nothing. Over time to the max you don't leave until that DLC is fully complete uploaded and everyone has it that has already tried to day. PERIOD. and as for the people stating I should have patience, No I will not have "patience" for something that should have been released and enjoyed already they delayed the release date long enough. And it seems every DLC these days that comes out for PC always gets butchered. It's safe to say next time a DLC comes out it probably won't come out the exact date it was stated. I mean how long does it take to just fix the EXE file it feels like their just completely redoing the whole thing and re uploading it.

I read that in Garrus' voice because of your avatar. Fits right in with his character too.

I will admit that my first reaction was to laugh. :D

Then it was to laugh harder as the incredulity started to filter through people's posts.

and after that... :o well, people need to relax.

It will be ready when it'll be ready. And it will be worth it! (because it's Bioware :D)

They shouldn't have let the programming staff responsible for Lair of the

Shadowbroker go on a holiday the second they put the 1,5 Gs of zeros up on the servers :D

Will be hard to keep us fans at bay till they come back from the sunny beaches of Hawaii.

I already can see them trying to convert the Xbox version quickly to Pc version, cuz no one made a backup copy :D

Let me tell you what it is:

1. A broken promise (release date missed, September 8th already here in Serbia)
2. Our money taken ($10), goods not delivered
3. Our bandwidth wasted downloading zeros, less tech savvy did it several times, some on limited internet (GB/mo)
4. Not a single official statement (sincere apology with a token of good will is due with such f*ckup)
5. Not fixed yet after 4 and a half hours, if their upload speed was only 100 KB/sec upload would be done by now

So do not even think about telling us to chill.

We wouldn't be pissed off this much if they didn't stay silent.
