I don't mind waiting longer for the DLC. What is p****ing me off though is friends and forumites who have downloaded it to their XBox, played it and are now bragging and spoiling it for us. That is what is really annoying about this issue. Not the fact there is a problem.

Of course it was inevitable that the console crew would be enthused about it but to come into the PC forum to brag is just trolling in my view.

awww c'mon, give them their couple of days of satisfaction. sooner or later they'll see their 3rd rate graphics and feel all sad they didnt spend their XBox money on a new graphics card and more RAM for their PCs.

And could people please stop with the "chill out, folks" and "give BW a break"? Just let people vent, some have been looking forward to this a lot, me included. Granted I'm not tearing my hair out screaming, but I'm still pissed. Human error or computer error, BW is still responsible. Most, if not all of us "whiners" know that BW is fixing it as we speak. That doesn't mean we should just shut up and leave it be.

No they don't, otherwise it would already have happened. It's more likely a bugged installer compile and will have to be rerun and retweaked.

Yeah, right. Bugged installer compile. As if you know what you are talking about.

NullSoft Installer that they were using for all ME2 DLC so far suddenly got broken eh??? They probably updated it to a new version which has bugs they didn't know about just before compiling this DLC installation, right?

And the installer was so broken that it even didn't include executable code for unpacking the zeros, an icon and their digital signature?

YEAH RIGHT.

Frankly i think you have no idea what you're talking about. Of course you wouldn't, as would 99% of the people on this forum.

Frankly, look up my name on Google, and you will see that I have excellent idea about all this because I am a software developer myself. Intel Black Belt software developer.

You paid $10 for having it. A release date, especially when broken for a silly accident like this for hours, is not a breach of contract or an attempt to scam you.

It is not an attempt to scam people, but a release date is a release date. I paid for having it and playing it yesterday, not today. Today I will have other things to do.

They have posted that they're working on it. They are working on it. I too would welcome more detailed information about whats wrong, but in the end i'd prefer if they'd focus their resources on actually fixing it.

I am afraid that is not good enough and here is why:

- Forum post burried somewhere is not a public announcement.
- Not taking the purchase link down immediately and replacing it with an explanation/apology (which is in their control) is lame
- Not taking download link down immediately (which is EA's responsibility) is also lame

Better stay quiet next time.

Great, delay and then utter failure DLC....thought Bioware can do better after all these.

I work in the software industry,  i must say that it is both a shock and a relief that Bioware is having this issue.

It is a shock because most software houses have a quality control department that prevents these sort of issues.

Is is a relief because Bioware is willing to pull the DLC and fix the issue so quickly and work so diligently on a fix for the product.

You have to understand, though the public has some sort of romantisized ideal of a software company being "perfect",  its just a bunch of people, trying to release a product to the best of their abilities on a tight time frame.  That involves several people, working to the best of their abilities to make a functional product who take pride in it and who have a lively-hood in it as well.  None of these people want to be left "holding the bag" as the person that missed something that caused a glitch, putting their job (which means their home, family and well being) on the line over a mistake.  No one wants that and i guarantee they are sweating bullets over a release that didnt go as planned.

So, from one software insider to another, i praise the bioware team for their efforts and wish them a speedy and easy task to correct the issue with this release.

Go troll somewhere else.

These types of bugs aren't made by professionals. Only sloppy mod teams for cruddy games. I'm a PC lover I constructed my own and trust me it was filled with bugs and problems. I know very well PC is much more complicated and such and more things can go wrong. But this is just uncalled for.

You must have never played a game besides bioware with DLC then because I've never found such things. Or are referring to mod teams, which are much different.

No offense bioware /ea /whoever is responsible..... did it not occur to you that when you have made content, when you have playtested it, when you have a realease date upon you, that you actually "test" that it works a couple of weeks before the deadline?

I was looking forward to this release. I am of course disapointed. However I hope the lesson this instance has taught you will make sure that you never allow it to happen again.

There is no excuse really for this. Everything should have been tested before going public. I'm sure you have testers who could have secretly been allowed to download from home to see if it worked... like 2 or 3 weeks prior to the launch.

However I'm not baying for blood or asking for jobs, I love your content, I love it when it's available more though.

Just something to bare in mind for the future.

Thanks.

Its ok guys and gals they will fix it; game development is a very painstaking process and it takes time to fix things even the littlest of problems can take a while to fix in this line of work.

I'm an enraged customer! see me rage rawr rawr rawr!

now that i've raged on the forums everything i'm angry about will just fix itself to suit meeeeeeee!

I'm happy to shout and scream about a broken / delayed DLC that I perceive to have cost me money but I don't say a thing about anything I can't blame somebody else for, like not having a social life / friends / significant other!

tongue firmly in cheek.

yes that's right, instead of waiting and constantly refreshing the download page I went for a pint with some mates.

this might be a bit harsh but hey, were all pulling out the stops on this one - 47 pages of sweary rants against my favourite game dev, probably 2 pages of defense.

i'm just evening the odds a little.

Played it through, loved it. While certain plot elements (even the ending, really) were predictable, I absolutely didn't see one -- rather large -- thing coming, and that was awesome. All the aftermath stuff was exceptionally well done as well. By far the best DLC BioWare has produced yet -- so as far as the 360 is concerned, congratulations all around @ the devs.

I hope the PC version gets fixed up, soon!

EDIT: Awesome to hear some of that old ME1 music again, as well.
