now that i've raged on the forums everything i'm angry about will just fix itself to suit meeeeeeee!
I'm happy to shout and scream about a broken / delayed DLC that I perceive to have cost me money but I don't say a thing about anything I can't blame somebody else for, like not having a social life / friends / significant other!
tongue firmly in cheek.
yes that's right, instead of waiting and constantly refreshing the download page I went for a pint with some mates.
this might be a bit harsh but hey, were all pulling out the stops on this one - 47 pages of sweary rants against my favourite game dev, probably 2 pages of defense.
i'm just evening the odds a little.
I would like this foreigner to exit this topic immediately!

I'll jump on that wagon. Man, I got on after school, downloaded the zeroes, and checked out this thread to see what was going on, and BAM! I feel like I got hit by a train, and I'm not even Bioware. Give them an effing break, people. Yeah, it sucks. Yeah, it shouldn't have happened. But, it did, and it's not like y'all are gonna stop playing Bioware games 'cause they screwed up a DLC release. I sure hope the release isn't being delayed because Bioware man hours are being spent reading this junk. And it's not like they're going to go home tonight and think, "Man, those forum flamers sure had it right. I'm a bad, bad person."
We need some Zen cleansing breaths around here. Or maybe just a few pints. But something, for sure.

Played it through, loved it. While certain plot elements (even the ending, really) were predictable, I absolutely didn't see one -- rather large -- thing coming, and that was awesome. All the aftermath stuff was exceptionally well done as well. By far the best DLC BioWare has produced yet -- so as far as the 360 is concerned, congratulations all around @ the devs.
I hope the PC version gets fixed up, soon!
get out

I, for one, would rather they used their valuable time to fix the problem, rather than pandering to a bunch of angry morons who think their raging is going to achieve something. If you didn't like their stuff, you wouldn't be here. let them do their work.
What valuable time???
It takes 5 minutes to write an apology and to put it up on an official webpage, you know, the one where the content should have been!
Whose valuable time???
As if only one person is involved in fixing this (must be the janitor then). Da*n, some people are really stupid.
Those "angry morons" happen to be their paying customers. It is their fault for catering to such an audience.

Um... programmer? Riiiight...
Do you realize that IN ORDER TO FIX THIS THEY ONLY HAVE TO RE-UPLOAD THE F*CKING FILE TO EA SERVER???
I see you made an attempt to apply your knowledge of C++ programming and IP
expertise to this post. Instead I suggest you stick with your certified
proficiency in "Calming loudly that total crap is absolute fact".
Impulsive malcontents barely fit to smash a spacebar, can't sound
ignorant enough, as when claiming to know that THIS is the problem and
the BW can't handle it.
Actually, the EXE is not much more
then an auto extractor, and something could have gone wrong when they
coded it after DLC_folder compression.
Do you know why this process
is needed? not to encrypt - already encrypted; not for single file
download - rar and sorts could be used. Entitlements? - that mechanism
is started with game launch.
It is needed in order to make sure that
the dlc folder would be installed in the right place, since a rar file
and a readme.txt prove to be too much of a challenge for some people,
who would then post here on how their DLC dosn't work

If they typed it in by hand in Notepad over the phone they would be about done by now.
programming in BINARY on notepad? even as a sarcastic remark that's still one of the most idiotic remarks imaginable.
levicki wrote...
Taking so long to do it is completely unacceptable -- we paid $10 for having it YESTERDAY!
Read
consumer agreement on the site where you paid for it. That IS the only
thing EA is obligated by, and if that doesn't suit you - don't by from
them, and fantasize alone on how awesome it would be if you could offer 1
valid argument for demanding anything from anyone.

And staying silent about it for so long is doubly unacceptable. Shame on you Bioware!
They
update regularly on another thread. you are so narrow minded, that you
didn't even bother to check one alternative for your shameful claim.

I enjoyed the LotSB DLC and it was absolutely awesome....beyond amazing....and I don't feel sorry for the PC gamers because they chose this. It's always a matter of insignificantly better graphics versus stability, enjoyability and peace of mind.

As I always say.....when you choose to buy for PC you are consciously making the choice to suffer a trillion times more bugs, glitches, nightmares and horrors than any console gamer. That's basically a fact. If you want slightly better graphics on the unnoticeable level then fine but this is the price you pay for those 3 extra pixels.

Insignificantly better? What have you been smoking?
A PC is a far superior machine compared to a console - THIS is basically a fact. The versatility, the upgradeability, the raw power (not my problem if you don't have a 1920x1080 capable TV/Screen so that you can REALLY see the difference - which is pretty damn huge, if you've got a gaming PC) makes it a no-brainer. Stop spewing bull****.
(Yeah I know, I shouldn't feed the troll. But hey, he/she/it had it coming.)
Oh, and thanks Bioware for this DLC, great of you to fix the issue as quickly as you did - PC users worldwide cheer for ya! ^^

Wrong, wrong.. and wrong..
You couldnt be more wrong if your name was Wrong W. Wrongerson!
The PC does have thousands of more configuration options than a console which has.. 1 (plus minor revisions).
But the power of the PC (or even MAC) is man, many times greater than the Console and has quite a bit more emmersion options over the console. There is no comparison. really. To say that there is not that great of a difference is truly ignorant of technology. Im sorry. but it is.

That and a control scheme that doesn't blow chunks, Darth_Trethon.
I wouldn't know anything about control schemes that blow chunks. In Bioware's research it actually shows that PC gamers spend about 1 extra hour in the average playthrough than the 360 gamers. So there is no noticeable difference in the smoothness of the gameplay......if anything the PC controlls appear a bit slower explaining the extra hour.
