I don't get the PC gaming hate. Everyone seems to forget we all played hours of Doom, Duke Nukem 3D, Starcraft and Warcraft on *PCs*. Sure, PCs can be fiddly things if you don't know what you are doing, or god forbid you get a Dell (incidentally, I'm running Vista 64bit on a Dell. I'm a real man because I wrestle with it every day to get it to work *sigh*) but console fanboys just lay down the hate like its nobody's business. And that's not to say members of the PC gaming community are innocent either.

I mean, I have a PS3 now, and I mainly game on that because I'm lazy, but I play Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2, and Valve's finest on PC. It's like Christmas whenever theres DLC for Mass Effect 2 cause it means I can add more hours to that 124hr total.



I just don't get it.

2) could it be that EA, that uses the same "cloud computing" (google it) resources for the download center and this very form, that's on the Bioware domain, just can't upload the file from somewhere that is essentially on the same network?

It cooked my mainboard so I got an AMD.

I also happen to know that ME2 DLC uses NullSoft Installer on the outside, and that the actual DLC inside is packed with WinRAR.

What I am saying is that there is no chance in hell that, even if the said RAR archive was all zeros (which is impossible even if all the files inside the RAR were zeros), that the actual self-extracting part is also zero.

ME2 DLC is NOT encrypted. You can unpack it manually using 7-Zip.

Entitlements? - that mechanism is started with game launch.

Wrong again. Entitlement is earned when you purchase DLC. You get a download link in your account which is static, same for everyone. Yeah, that is lame from a security standpoint -- it means everyone who downloads DLC from whatever source can install and play it because the game doesn't check your entitlements online.

TAQ: What you said is very correct that's the part the gives you your entitlement And the Verifying part is with game launch. like i said, the DLC EXE has nothing to do with this. so I guess you were wrong..

Well, incompatibility of central european verison was promoted looong time before relaese:

Possible workaround:
- install ENG version
- take tlk files with your language
- rename them on INT version
- rewrite INT files with the renamed ones.

This way you'll get english version but with Hungarian subtitles and DLC "should" install.

Try shift+delete or open a command prompt in that directory and use the 'del' command.
