my point is Ashley and Kaiden are terrible characters and shouldn't be given their own DLC.

That's kinda an unfair view don't you think? I too happen to prefer Liara... but I mean come on it'd be wrong not to make a Kaiden / Ash dlc. Especially as they've just advanced the Liara romance and character. It doesn't just revolve around you. Different people prefer different characters.

Maybe they'll make a dlc for Ash and Kaiden (it'd obviously be one dlc) and advance and expand on the characters in ways you thought not possible.

Be a bigger challenge as both characters have very different personalities so focusing on expanding characters in 1 dlc would be challenging.

lol they don't have any personality. Listening to them talk is like listening to paint dry.
Sorry but the one thing I was most glad about ME2 was that these 2 weren't around.

Yeah I kinda feel the same. Well I just didn't like their characters that much. But when you think about they really managed to expand Tali to be more interesting and Liara too in this DLC. And even made some minor improvements to Garrus. I know it'd be a lot harder for Ash / Kaiden as they are imo kinda lifeless characters when compared to the ME 2 cast. But I only think it'd be right to make a DLC for the people who do miss them.

well if people like Kaiden and Ash then thats their deal. Personally I'd prefer it if they would just work on Mass Effect 3.

Also I think bioware are always going to put romances into similar situations. So if Liara isn't a squad mate in ME 3 because she's preoccupied in a major story role. Then I'd expect them to do a DLC for Ash / Kaiden which expands on the missions they've been doing while Shepard was gone, puts them in the role of spectre or something and gives them a major story role leading something in ME 3. You'd probably like that as it'd take them out of the running for squad mates. DLC that covers both of them makes sence as at least 1 can survive.

I'm seriously starting to think bridging dlc will lead to them basically making it obvious what squad mates if any will be returning for ME3. I still get the feeling they are going to pull a whole new team for ME 3 despite how much I hate the thought of it. The reapers aren't going to return for a while. They will probably give it another 2-3 years gap at the very least long enough for the team to disband and move onto other things. I think they have learned from ME 2 though and that 50% imported their character, that putting more effort into imported content references is more important than they initially thought and will get seen by more people. You can see this even in lair of the shadowbroker. So I'm not so afraid anymore of how they handle the original squad mates so long as their story is crucial to me 3.

I doubt we will see a Kaiden/Ashley DLC. WHy? Well, because one, they are pretty bland and uninteresting (no offense, but humans are boring in a galaxy of aliens) to the average mainstream gamer. This is where 95% of Bioware's money comes from. The other 5% comes from people on this forum. Also, you would have to make 2 separate missions with separate dialog in order to keep them from feeling like straight copies of each other. I think it is likely we will see the Virmire survivor as an Alliance commander or something of the sort in ME3 instead of having a DLC role.

Nope, that's the right size. 1.5 gigs of awesomeness.

As idealistic as that sounds. I am 99% confident they will make one DLC that covers both of them. Since they both work for the alliance and both have military history in general and both are capable of becoming spectres after the mission they were involved in, both are human. All bioware would have to do is uncover whatever major mission they are working on and alter the dialog to suit the character.

I'm also 99% confident they will make the DLC - even in a developer interview once they talked about expanding characters through DLC and zoomed in on the picture with ashley in it on shepards desk. It would only anger Ash/Kaiden-mancers that Liara romancers got a dlc that massively continued her story and they didn't. They'll want to cash in on the popularity of this DLC. Especially if statistics show a lot of liara romancers playing it. Especially after it was also really left up in the air with Ash / Kaiden mad at shepard.

Not to mention it would be a great excuse to involve anderson and udina in the dlc. They could make it feel nostalgic like an ME 1 mission. There's a lot more they could do than worrying about how interesting Kaiden / Ash is. There personalities alone make it easy to make a single dlc to cover both of them.

It's hard going for fans of Ashley and Kaidan, who have received no DLC, have had just a single (very painful) ME2 cameo, whose relationships have been ignored by Kasumi and Liara (who acknowledge all the other romances), to then read these kinds of posts.  (I do acknowledge that I'm taking your quote out of context, Pr3ying M4nt15 360, and you have been largely supportive.)  Ask and Kai may be boring to you.  There are lots of fans who don't find them boring.  (The Kaidan thread is the biggest squadmate thread in the forums at the moment.)  Let's just say "different strokes for different folks" and hope that all Mass Effect characters receive the richest treatment possible.

Personally, I remain optimistic, if only because Liara fans felt so hard done by until LotSB (due to virtually no reference to her old character/behaviour or the romance, etc.)... yet now they have this awesome DLC.  Not everyone likes Liara (although I do).  Yet Bioware still produced this kickass DLC centred around her character.  This is because Bioware are not aiming to make every gamer like every character.  They are aiming to put enough variety in there that every gamer has *some* characters that they love.  I'm hoping they continue to do this.  The track record of ME2 DLC has been so strong that it gives me a lot of reason to hope.

I would enjoy a dlc regarding the Virmire survivor which helps advance them as Pr3ying stated. Maybe help them on the way to being commander of a fleet.. that way when it starts hitting the fan you (potentially) have the Krogan, Geth, Rachni, Quarian fleet, and Alliance backing (via Virmire survivor and Anderson)

@Shadowhawk233 - No idea offhand, but imdb may be able to help you. Give it a few days to update maybe? Or check game credits? They could possibly be updated for the new DLC.

Had same problem yesterday morning. Win 7 64-bit wrong OS for instller.  Downloaded again a few hours later, fixed!
Now, to use a saved Mass Effect game where I swoon Liara!
If I use the save I'm using presently, because I chose Ashley, won't end in the desired nooky with Liara.Image IPB

Windows was just confused, it wasnt a Win 7 64-bit error.  The file was quite literally filled with 00s.  Was confirmed a half dozen times by multiple users opening it in a Hex editor.

My first playthrough was about 2 to 4 hours, but that was because I took my time and didn't skip any cut-scenes.

If your on the fence, trust me it's well worth the 800 points, it may be a bit short, but the quality is amazing.

My first run-through took about 2.5 hours on Insanity. I died 4 times. Didn't skip through any conversations or cut scenes. Looked around at the scenery.

Definitely worth the money, imo. One of the best DLC ever.

I'm trying to put this as delicately as I can, but the (painful) Ashley cameo in ME2 was a good thing. Ashley was/is a grunt; she's funny; hot even, from certain angles; and I almost always took her along in ME1. But when she made her re-appearance in ME2, on that colony, and it became clear the relationship with Ashley couldn't be simply picked up where it left off, I felt satisfied. Why? Because Bioware did the right thing.

Ashley's refusal to accept the new Shepard, working for Cerberus, is in complete alignment with her personality. Ashley is an Alliance gal (and pro-human at that, and not too keen on aliens); things are pretty black and white for her. Under Shepard, in ME1, she occassionally voiced her somewhat controversary opinions about aliens, but was kept in check by Shepard; and she accepted that, as Shepard was her Alliance Commander. For Ashley to have accepted the new Shepard, though, working for Cerberus, it would have been grossly out of character.

And that's why Bioware is to be lauded for letting the relationship with Ashley die: they made a plausible role playing game, not a  'take whatever hottie you want to the party' game. And that's why I felt satisfied seeing things go nowhere with Ashley. Sure, I felt some momentary sadness, as I had certainly developed some sort of bond with the Ashster, or at least had grown rather fond of her. But when I saw it was over, and realized the reasons why, it felt right. Sorry.

As for Kaidan, by the time folks stopped posting in the ME1 forums, half the people there still didn't even know how to spell his first name properly (Kaidan/Kaiden). 'Nuf said.

Hm, I don't know, that really isn't a lot of playtime for 10 Bucks. I mean okay, Mafia 2 costs 50 Bucks and only has 10 hours, but I don't like this whole DLC-development with Bioware.

This really put some interesting things into the game...

Didn't last long, but wasn't agonizingly short either.
