Soon - In Bioware speak could be anything up to a month
You have got to be sh*ting me...
"Soon" is trademarked by Blizzard so Bioware needs another term...
Actually that's not true. Blizzard doesn't deal with any periods of time shorter than 'When it's done'. Which is code for 'Three years from whenever we say it's coming soon'.

Are you kidding? My brother has already beaten it on the console version, and meanwhile I'm waiting for it to even be playable.Truly_Xtreem wrote...
also they counted this into the playing time of the DLC to pad it out a bit

Im not flaming I expect this from a shady trader not from a reputable company. Maybe that makes me old fashioned. This isnt the first time Bioware have released a dlc, and it isn't the first time they have had problems with them on pc if the overlord delay was anything to go by. This perhaps speaks of a larger issue with the way they release dlc on pc that needs to be addressed.
This seems symptomatic of the whole games industry though, release now patch latter, or release without checking as the Crackdown dlc, and now apparently this dlc has shown

I myself don’t mind waiting if the DLC is as good as the rest of the game and I have no doubt it will be.

I am running Win7 Ultimate x64 and have the same problem, check with a hex editor like everyone else the file is full of zero's. I really feel bad for the people that have monthly limit/bandwidth quotas, since they will not get any refund on what they downloaded. I have a 250gb limit but it is more than enough to download this file 2 or 3 times. But really if the file is corrupted at least remove the file from the active download servers.

I'd much rather play this DLC, now I can't until tomorrow.

Are you kidding me? Just take a look over at Bioshock 2's forums about the latest Minerva's Den DLC. Once again PC gamers got ****f***ed. They released the DLC only to console kiddies and didn't even give us PC gamers a release date for that DLC.
Gonna go play something else while i wait for this BS to be fixed.
That's an example of actual PC disrespect.
This isn't.

QFT, im also annoyed at the delay, but I will wait.Truly_Xtreem wrote...
go for a drink, ride a bike, have an early night, serf some forums, look at some funny video clips, watch a dvd, spend time with your partner.. its a DLC it will be here when its here, and no amount of posts or emo "i want a refund" will make it any faster! relax chaps
also they counted this into the playing time of the DLC to pad it out a bit
And btw, one can point to the fact that Bring Down the Sky for ME1 was free for PC and not free for xbox as a counter-example of xbox favoritism. Just sayin....

It does look as if they have taken on board what we have said and they are investigating the problem and looking for a quick solution. They aren’t the first game company to make an error and we just need to be patient.

You are definately a good customer - ready to forgive them any fu*k-up they made. The more customers like you - the worse their Quality Assurance team becomes.

I'm feeling inordinately uncharitable right now, so I have to remark: That's kind of a lie, isn't it? There are no "compatibility issues" to investigate. It's simply a broken file.
Pretending that there is some kind of complicated software conflict that must be untangled, when it's plainly a file full of zero bytes - in my current mood that feels rather dishonest to me. <_<

I just want an update or an estimated ETA for the upload of the fixed DLC file

seriously if they don't know whats wrong they wont give an ETA as people will emo if they dont get it fixed in time, if they over estimate people will emo over how long they think it will take!
just check back tomorrow!

Funny how console gamers are sitting behind their TV's with their over-sized fonts and basic intellect (but fat wallets eh? which is where the game's market is heading) playing this totally oblivious to any problems. Meanwhile the customers that were loyal to Bioware when they were making freaking Baldur's Gate get a 1 sentence reply from Priestly.
Not a "sorry we ****ed up, we're on it and it'll be fixed in a few hours" just a poxy "we are investigating".
Bioware, how much good will are you planning to burn before ME3? The Dragon Age Awakenings and 1.03 crash DEBACLE pretty much burned your house down for me, all that was left was a frame, and now problems on a major DLC launch day...
Rediculous.

Get a job. Maybe you realize that screw-ups happen even with a competent QA team. Unless it's staffed by robots because people make mistakes. "Pathetic" is always the first word that enters my mind whenever I'm forced to enter this cesspit called a forum.

Hopefully I'm wrong as rebuilding and testing will probably mean several hours work at least.
Edit: come to think of it its been several hours already
