The thing that is most atrocious is that they haven't taken down the offending file yet, so hundreds of customers are probably still downloading a file full of zeros since only 1% of customers read forums.

Honestly, this is a joke.

I'm running XP and all I get is a dos window that says "Program is too big to fit in memory" and then quickly closes.

Are there any 64bit users that are able to get Lair running?

Yep. I just downloaded it and it didn't work. I kind of freaked out! I agree that they should take the file down, but that would mean people would stop paying momentarily. Which is why it is still up probably.

I'm a 64-bit user btw.

Has there been any official word or is this just more examples of PC users getting screwed over?

It does not work for anyone. Whole .exe is corrupted and you can see it yourself when you open it with hex editor.
Theres only 0000000000 inside the .exe

Has ANYONE gotten it to work on PC (irrespective of x86 or x86_64)? I sure hope no one at Bioware even remotely connected to this goes home until it works.

Get a job. Maybe you realize that screw-ups happen even with a competent QA team. Unless it's staffed by robots because people make mistakes. "Pathetic" is always the first word that enters my mind whenever I'm forced to enter this cesspit called a forum.

I'd have to agree with that.

It is handled extremely poorly. While I can believe they initially thought it's compatibility problem, when in reality the upload on the server got messed up - and there could be an issue with the actual file anyway - few steps could be taken. First of all, a community manager of sorts should keep an eye on those forums, as it isn't unusual for the players to figure out the problem before the devs. Once the empty file was identified, the download should be disabled, and an updated information released. Anyone attempting to buy the DLC from there on should still have an option to pay, but description should be updated to mention issues with the file.

However, anyone expecting anything more - especially those asking for heads to roll - are just being unreasonable about it. Mistakes do happen in the world of grown ups, even despite your best intentions. Only those that don't do anything never make them. So chill out and wait it out. I'm disappointed, too, but unless I happen to die tomorrow I will get to play what I paid for. And if I do die tomorrow not playing Lair of Shadow Broker might just be the least of my problems :P

"Being aware of it" and "not erasing the faulty download" contradicts itself in my opinion. ;)

I am also waiting for the file. and i am also a little upset that I've paid and am still waiting to play. Now i will sit back and patiently wait for Bioware to fix this. They know that I'm here, and they know that I'm angry. I don't need to try and imitate making a scene in a McDonald to make my point.

It seems that the shadown Broker is stronger than everyone thought.

About to launch into the world the new DLC for Mass Effect 2, the organization seems that BioWare has invaded the system and modified the program, making it impossible to install.

The entire community is waiting for explanations from BioWare.
