I just got EA to refund my points. I am not going through what I did like when Return to Ostagar for DA:O was released then recalled, for more than a month. I wonder as well, if this is a reason for the delay in the release of DA:O Witch Hunts "Never Follow Me". I am very looking forward to that DLC as well.

How you got refund?

I started a technical support chat and in so many words, I told the rep that I wasn't going to go through what I did with Return to Ostagar last January and I demanded a refund of my points. He acquiesced with no questions at all.

Well... it's not like they lost anything since they just "lent" you your points back... could be a whole different story if it was cash :P

Do you think it was an overload of visits or something else? The whole site went down including the download portion of the site

Yeah I known then coders and software engineers will be out of work and maybe then can hire some competent engineers. Who know which file has nothing in it and which file has an actual program.

Considering the current post-rate at this forum, I'm pretty sure it was just an automated mechanism to shut down under too heavy load. Besides, they wouldn't have to shut down the site to upload the new exe anyway (which, btw, is going to happen when exactly?).

True that, but there's another effect of doing that, of which I won't mention here. If I really wanted to, since I just purchased those points this morning, I could make a dispute with my credit card company and they could block the transaction until EA/Bioware gets it correct. I am not that anal about it this time since they were at least willing to go this far as opposed to them telling me (like) last January that i was basically out of luck until the DLC was fixed for use then.

Okay, Bioware is working on this issue. I'm sure they'll say something once they know something new. There's already another thread about this, so this one gets locked.

There has been an official bioware announcement

I understand you are all irritated by this, but we want you all to play, so we are working hard to determine and fix whatever is causing this. If I do not come by every 15 minutes to say "Still no news", it is because we are working on this. When we have news, we will let you know."
