Yup, as some people posting just about the same time I did already explained, the dos window says something about the file being too big for memory, then closes. apparently you can double check to see if the Shadowbroker file is the useless one by compressing the file. If it compresses to just over 1.5 MB, then it's no good. Luckily for me, I didn't have any trouble with the file refusing to delete...it just doesn't work.
Also, I think it's unfair to complain BioWare is going cheap. Their products have, overall, been high-quality, enduring entertainment. I'm willing to believe that when they get the problem fixed, we will find the dlc worth the wait. I'm even willing to believe the problem isn't something they could have predicted or prevented.
Nonetheless, it is frustrating to the consumer and a bit damaging to the company image to release something defective and then be unable to predict when we might reasonably expect the problem to fixed. To be fair, though, if BioWare did give us an ETA on the fix only to realize the ETA was incorrect, that would only compound the initial ill-will this little glitch has temporarily stirred up.
I'm terrible at being patient, but I guess I'm left with little choice.
