Nice to see the download pulled and an official acknowledgement, back to waiting

Glad they finally did that! Even if it's a few hours late, at least new people won't be dropping 1.5G of their monthly download limit anymore. I have a few friends that would have been ticked off if they spent that much limit on a faulty file!

I'm mostly just steamed that Xbox users are able to happily enjoy the content. I know it's simple jealousy on my part, but BioWare has done a good job of treating PC and console users equally for Mass Effect 2. It stings to not have access to something other players are enjoying just because you're on a different system.

That it's the largest, most anticipated DLC to date is just salt in the wound.

when i tried to run the program it got all buggy and crashed every half hour. the error message went on about how the galaxy was at stake, and you should fix the problem yourself. so i sent it to the trash can, and when i tried to empty it all it said was "i delete data like you on my way to real errors." i have to say this is one of the most interesteding dlc's i have ever attempted to play. EPIC FAIL FTW!!!!!!!

I think the worst thing about waiting for a fix is that I'm not gonna be able to play it before I have to go back to class. I had 5 hours between classes today that I had planned on playing LotSB with before going back to class. :( I'm not gonna get back home until midnight and by then I'll be too tired to play.

Sucks... Waiting isn't really a problem for me, although not being able to delete both downloads (did it twice to make sure not corrupted). Every time I try and delete the .exe, its keeps saying its being used by another program... its not, and I would really like to clear up 3 Gigs of space!

Anyone else have this problem or is it just me?

I didn't have any problems deleting it actually, you can always use killbox though never fails...

try downloading Process Explorer from Sysinternals (its free microsoft utility),
1. run it
2. in the menu is "Find" select "Find Handle or DLL.."
3. type ME2 and click Search
4. it should show you what process is using it
5. try to kill the process

maybe there is something more simple but this is how i do it, and it works :)

Using this, I find explorer.exe is running the SB.exe...... Now, I may not be the most tech savvy person out there but I think killing explorer.exe isn't very wise.... Any other way to delete it? dos? Haven't used it in many winters... Help deleting this 1.5gb mess?

If your computer's not letting you delete because the file's "in use by another program", just REBOOT.

They won't give an estimated time because if they do and they miss THAT deadline then people will be really mad. It might be 20 minutes, it may be 20 hours. Just cross your fingers.

Would a patcher be smart? Then I'll have some use for my 3 gig of data downloaded and it would spare them bandwith. I mean: a patcher to fix the small problem in the 1.5 gig download.

Actually, you can kill explorer just fine. It will either restart itself (Windows 7); or you'll just reboot afterwards.

EDIT: And if you keep a cmd window open, you can just type eplorer.exe to re-init it.

Really now? Cause it's still the same after 2 reboots. I'm not that dumb. Using the process explorer doesn't help cause I can't terminate explorer.

But that doesn't solve the issue of deleting the file, cause it seems to run the moment I open the folder.

Edit : command prompt + process explorer killed it. Thanks.

Now, that is odd. Other than not having ownership, no file handle survives a reboot, of course. Did ownership change somehow? (maybe it's locked, as in quarantined by your anti-virus software?).

EDIT: Seems the matter is already resolved. :)
