I simply loathe that armor though. The Ferelden of DA:O had it's roots in medieval Europe, and I thought the parallels were a clever part of the game. They seem to have tossed that aside for a recognizable style. Sadly, what's recognizable is it's utter ugliness and ungainly, unaesthetic look.

One can only hope that more normal armor still exists.

Errant_knight, I couldn't agree more.  The artsy-fartsy types at BioWare could've produced arms and panoplies that are both realistic and visually interesting by using examples of parade armor from the medieval and Renaissance periods.  It's a pity that they chose to go the "kewl" route with this ghastly, preposterous crapola.

They were originally supposed to have horns according to Gaider, but the idea got scrapped in the first game for some unspecified reason. It seems to have been brought back in DA2 as part of their attempt to further differentiate the races from one another.

The ironic thing about how awesome Lady Hawke, and the new graphics generally, turned out to be, is when you compare it to the early pictures of the game. Many of the early pictures contained the male Hawke, and those early pictures really convinced a lot of people that, despite their best efforts, the new graphics were actually a step backward, not forward, they were unimpressed to say the least. Fast forward to today, and now with the release of Lady Hawke's picture, as well as one or two others, they clearly show that the graphics have indeed been improved, quite considerably. Coincidence? I think not . Its perfectly natural that Lady Hawke and her awesomeness should be leading the way in the very impressive new graphics for DA2!
