I went through every medkit I had with that woman. Any time I think I've improved on strategy and combat technique, they have to remind me that in reality I just suck. Every single shot with the Widow was a headshot, and that woman goes down slower than a Praetorian. Spectre > Harbinger.
Wonder what Vanguard against Vanguard goes like.

Vanguard vs. Vanguard is actually very awesome and charge actually helped me to both keep up with her AND charge through her Biotic attacks. Van v. Van was very fast paced and actioned packed because I was always moving to get the high ground on her. It was just a fun fight like you would expect from like a movie or something.

Vasir was a great fight on Insanity. It was really tough and I went through loads of medkits but it was damn fun.

Amazingly enough, when I fought her with my Vanguard FemShep, I never charged even once. It was all about the Mattock and Inferno Ammo.

I regret this however... Duh!

The Vasir fight is awesome, but I am surprised to hear so many say it was tough or needed to use medkits.  No medkits at all here, though maybe it was because I was playing my Vanguard insanity Shepard.  The fight is almost tailor made for a Vanguard; charge Vasir, shot her face, she charges across the map, you charge across the map, buckshot to the face, repeat.

Yeah, it was one of the most enjoyable fights BioWare came up with (only topped by Malak and Loghain, if we count the verbal battle in the latter).

She was also clearly motivated, not just a random bad gal, damn, I hoped she'll stay alive to be a pontential party member later.

Tbh I liked her and would of chosen the "Get lost, if I ever see you again..." option if it existed. I actually felt really bad when she justified her means. I mean ive done the same during Zaeeds mission, I let them all die so I could take out one man " for the greater good" ...

the fight with vasir was fun, the fight with the broker not that good and i just warpbombed my way through the masses.

was funny to see that even three warps (Miranda, Liara and my Shep) just barely scratched the barrier of vasir.

I've defeated both Vasir and the Shadow Broker twice now through 2 playthroughs with 2 different classes.

Infiltrator struggled a bit with Vasir but in the end I defeated her without too much trouble. The only real tough part was blasting through her barrier. I had warp ammo and spammed warp using Liara but it wasn't enough. Bringing Garrus along wasn't the most optimal path to take either. Shadow Broker was also a bit tough bringing down his shield but his armor melted away under Widow fire. Very enjoyable fights for both bosses though.

Second playthrough was such a breeze with my soldier. Warp ammo with Miranda/Liara spamming warp took down Vasir in half the time. Her armor was no problem either under Revenant/Viper fire. Shadow Broker was a complete joke. I don't know if it is perhaps the Geth shotgun has a crazy modifier versus shields or the upgrades really proving themselves, but 4 shots from it and I took down the shields. Killed him in a quarter of the time it took with my infiltrator.

I hope we can expect to see more intricate and elaborate boss battles in ME3!

Vasir was so tough to kill cause of her being a charging vanguard. With Shepard, you have constantly replenishing shields every time you charge and since they probably ran into technical limitations of enemy replenishing shields through charge, they made Vasir have a lot of every defense on insanity. It was a damn good approach though.

Is it normal that with all Paragons bars full and 50% of the Renegades bars, I was unable to use one of them during the talk preceding the battle against Vasir?

She made you wonder if you'd have won if she wasn't already seriously wounded. She must have used some med-kits on herself.

Tactically, though, she was more interesting that tough (yes, even on Insanity). My Shepard was a fully upgraded soldier with a Revenant LMG and squad warp ammo. I had Garrus with the Geth Assault Rifle and with concussive shot. Liara had fully developed Unstable Warp. Although you get less damage per shot with Unstable, the faster recharge rate gives you four shots for every three of Heavy Warp. Therefore, unstable warp deals out more damage in the same amount of time.

The trick is to get under the balcony, so you don't have drones behind you and her in front of you. Every time she stopped, she got hit with Warp and two concussive shots: One from Garrus and one from Shepard. After her barrier was gone, the warp ammo and Unstable Warp still worked. When she made the mistake of appearing anywhere near me, Liara dosed her with warp and I unloaded a Revenant clip on her. That took care of the armor. After that, it was back to concussive-warp-concussive again.

Vasir fought like rabid landshark on speed.Far more challenging than the Shadowbroker. If you got to have boss battle, this is how you should make them :)

By the way, did anyone else smell a rat with Vasir right off the bat when you met her? With me it was the attitude, her knowledge of what went on inside the appartment during the shooting and generally just the her presense on an "ordinary" attempted murder scene that raised the red flags.

I did that my first playthrough. Essentially, it's challenging but not impossible if you're using something like the geth plasma shotgun that can work at a somewhat farther distance than the claymore but with similar POOOOWWEEERRRR!
It really does give you a taste of your own medicine. You charge towards her and she charges away.

I wish they would allow the Player character to Charge to a spot as well as into an enemy. Loved the Specter fight, was in my opinion MUCH BETTER THAN THE SB fight.

The best part of the fight was killing Vasir by warp exploding her off the building right after her armor went down. Most excellent.

I also liked when she called you out for working with Cerberus... even if you don't have connections with them anymore post SM.

I thought it was a fun enough fight, a mite irritating that the b*tch never stood still ;) , but it was better than the average blaze-away-until-its-dead boss fights. But personally, I actually perfered the fight with the Shadow Broker... breaking it up with the cinematics, while stopping it being one complete combat sequence, gave it a much more cinematic quality over just shooting at things until they die. Sure, that's what you do with him, but it didn't feel like it because you were getting the unarmed combat breaks in there.

Now if they'd done something similar with Vasir... maybe knocking her through a window into the hotel interior, or off the balcony onto a lower balcony section and then continuing the fight in a new area... that would have really iced the cake for me ^_^

I actually flew through the dlc with a vanguard. Just took along Miranda for shields and the rest was easy sailing. Then again my build isn't the typical vanguard build.

She was charging a little too much. Apparently with Wide Singularity, you can actually cause her to fly away and fall off the edge, instantly (and successfully) ending the battle.

I liked the SB fight more. I think they should of done something else to make Vasir harder other than just giving her loads of health. It was a good fight but it felt kinda weird after 5 minutes of it on insanity.

Yes once her defenses are gone, quite funny to watch.

Maybe Vasir's armor was the new iteration of Colossus from ME1 (Colossus XXI maybe!). But less disco looking. It was my favourite fight of the ME series so far, and certainly the one where using charge made the most sense. As someone else said, playing Vanguard made it into a crazy chase across the plaza.

Brilliant.

The near-death dialogue added to the overall excellence. I loved that she wasn't renegade, just Renegade if you know what I mean. And calling me out about Akuze and Cerberus was an excellent final dig.

Taking out the Shadow Broker's mercs with the Widow was awesome fun. Every single shot was worth it.
